Interesting but overlooked thing about the tisas guns is they have a titanium firing pin and steel internals, where most or some guns even more expensive has MIM or cast internals. Tisas seriously raised the bar on what a cheap 1911 should be.
@@S1deshowRob Agreed! I have the TP9SFx and I love that pistol. I also have a SAR P8L (Sarsilmaz) stainless and I also love that pistol. Besides the grips, which are ugly as sin so I changed out for grips designed for CZ 75 but with a little work you can make fit, it is a good looking pistol. Then I purchased a Bul Armory 1911 Government and I'm head over heels in love with it. My FFL said the quality and fit is on par or better than his Wilson Combat. He called his friend who brought over his Ed Brown for comparison and both agreed it's quality and fit is on Par or better than the Ed Brown. They couldn't They believe how buttery that slide is. Both of them ordered one that day. I plan on buying the SAR K12 Sport and Bul Armory SAS II Tac. You can find the The K12 Sport is basically a clone of the CZ Shadow 2 and Tanfoglio Stock 2, and can be found for under $600. The SAS II is an amazing 2011 for the price.
@@1911syndicate bought their 1911 A1 Service in .45 here locally in Houston, Tx for 400.00 - came with 2 8 round mags and the usual stuff. I have run 1000 rounds through it and it is ROCK SOLID!. Nothing wrong with a budget gun these days.
I love your reviews on high end guns, but glad to see this review because as much as I like reviews of expensive guns, it's cool to see reviewers I respect, reviewing something attainable to me. I have a Tisas BR45 Commander that I purchased ($450.00) a couple of years ago, before they stopped using MIM parts. I also have 2 Springfields (Government Loaded CQB 45 ACP & EMP 4 Lightweight Champion 9mm). The Tisas will run with them all day long. Have not had a single gun related failure and it runs JHP (Speer Gold Dot) with no issues at all. I'm a retired Police Officer and I trust the Tisas enough that I EDC it in my rotation. For those looking to get into the world of 1911's without breaking the bank, this is the brand for you. Tisas makes a RAIDER version that's a clone of the Colt you revieded a while back, and I promise the Tisas will run circles around the Colt when it comes to fitment etc. Keep up the outstanding work, you guys are killing it.
Thanks for the comment, thats a pretty solid review. With this video and your comment, I think I should start my 1911 journey with a Tisas. Once I get rich! Guns and ammo and licenses and safes and security systems are *pretty* expensive here in Australia. The 1911 really is my favourite handgun, there's so many varieties!
I build 1911's, had a buddy dare me to try one out made by Tisas. I picked up a 4.25" Tank Commander in 9mm. What convinced me to do it was a forged frame, slide and RAMPED barrel for 445 bucks out the door from a local shop. I figured I could build it into a decent pistol if it turned out to be a POS, the frame, slide and barrel would cost the same as just a frame from Caspian. No need to rebuild it, it's fantastic, fed it everything I had in 9mm including my 124gr cast loads and it never missed a beat or malfunctioned. Slide was very tight and it is very accurate too, on par with my 5" Gold Cup and custom Super 38. Needless to say I was so impressed I went back and bought a 5" A2 Government Model for 470.00, same experience. The barrel was linked on this 45acp model but the trigger was great, very crisp break on both and again functioning was spot on. These pistols have to be the best bang for the buck anywhere and at the cost the Tank Commander it is now my truck gun, I also changed the grips otherwise they are stock. I'll bet I've sold a half dozen of various models for my buddies shop and all have been winners, I'm even using them for builds. I bought 2 G'ovt Models, added the usual accessories, checked fit and function and did a Cerakote job on one and did a satin nickel finish on the other. I had people lining up for them and at half the price of a standard Colt.
I purchased the 5" stainless Duty model a year and a half ago. Changed to G10 grips. Wasn't happy with the trigger. Performed a good trigger job and bought four more MecGar 8 round magazines. Just shy of 500 rounds the Tisas has not had a failure of anything.
As of 2022, Tisas has eliminated all MIM parts in their 1911 line. It’s reliable and accurate. That’s impressive for a sub $600 gun. That pales in comparison to my $1600 Dan Wesson Guardian that’s semi custom with no MIM.
I picked up this model online for $359. Couldn't pass it up at the price. It was good right out of the box, but added about $185 in Wilson combat parts and did a trigger job. Runs fantastic. Especially after I cut a loop off the mag release spring. :)
Thanks for asking. I added an extended mag release, skeltonized ultralight long tigger (adjustable), shok- buff set with flat-wound spring and a stainless flat mainspring housing. I liked the checkering on the Wilson part better.
In 3 years i’ve put just shy of 12,000 rounds of .45 ACP through a single B45R. A few months back I sheared the extractor hook off, which to date has been my only part failure. These pistols aren’t without their quirks, but I now own several and they are great builders for people who know what to look for. I’ve documented this on 1911 forum and I’m happy to answer any questions on long-term hard use.
Six years ago, I received an daily email from CDNN offering an unknown-to-me stainless 1911. For $450. The same model you featured in .45 . I tried to talk myself out of it, but in the end I purchased it. Everyone who sees that gun thinks it probably cost at least $900. It came with two sets of grips and two Mec-Gar mags. Never one failure; not from the first round. Two brands of firearms I was talking about before they were household names---BUL and Tisas.
1. Extremely precise modern machinery. 2. Low cost labor. 3. Good work ethic. 4. Good Management. Add them all together and it's possible to produce a 1911 which is dimensionally correct with proper timing with minimal final machining and minimal hand fitting. Good management means they care enough to stay on top of QA to farther limit the number of issues end consumers have. It's only good business, the higher your failure rate the fewer sales you will make at a given price and the less profitable the enterprise in the long run.
I bought one last Christmas. It is excellent. Fit and finish is Far beyond what it should be for the price I paid. Accurate and functions flawlessly. I couldn’t be more happy with such a bargain gun. This is coming from someone who owns CZ’s and HK’s.
I picked up their GI model last year, used it as the base for my first build, could not be happier with the quality of the components and how the build came out. Only issue I ran into was the thickness of the slide prevented it from being able to be milled out for a dovetail front sight so I had to stick with a stake on style. That's not a problem on the model you have since its novak from the factory. Super impressed by Tisas
I have a tank commander in .45. Did just that. Only simple, inexpensive mods that made a difference. Painted the front sight so I could pick it up easier, changed the grips out & polished the feed ramp & internals. This little gun rocks and rolls. Reliable, accurate & crisp trigger. These guns are an insane value & I’ve owned most of the “better” brands over the years. Tisas is killing it. I want another one.
I had an issue with the first GI 1911 I got from them the safety was to small and the sear pin kept falling out because of it. They replied to my email and had me a return label same day and instead of making me wait on repair they just sent me a different pistol of the same model that was perfect in a 6 day turnaround so their customer service is top notch.
@@sds_armsJust a rando gun nuts opinion. I think a gun company's CS & after purchase warranty will sell better than top if the line bells & whistles. As well as quick turn around. Sounds like you guys are on to something.
For that price, to get all forged frame, slide, barrel, and all steel (no mim) internals is amazing. Whats even better than that, is that they simply run great. I have 3 of them. All 3 of the different WW2 gi versions
Nice video as always. Alot of channels poo-poo high end products that don't live up to the price (sometimes for clicks), or won't give cheaper products a fair review (also for clicks). Appreciate the honesty.. Well done gentlemen.
I just bought a Military Armament Corp JSOC 1911 (made by Tisas) and its a quality piece. I take a lot more pride in the inexpensive pistols like Tisas and Rock Island. With a little work they become great blasters.
Just picked up my Tisas 1911A1 service for $319....put some walnut U.S. grips on it. Its my 1st 1911. Figured its a great porch sittin, coffee drinkin FAFO beater pew pew.
The Tisas 1911s seem to be quality. I got to Tactically Fondle multiple of them at SHOT Show and Industry Range Day and was impressed by their feel compared to Rock Island Armory 1911s. I like both options because they've created options for people that want to own multiple types of guns without investing crazy money.
The gunshop I use got a dozen various Tisas 1911's in a couple fridays ago. Got two be 'first' at the boxes and fondle the contents... While I'm not Larry Vickers or Hilton Yam, I kinda know my way around the 1911, and every one of them was a quality build.
Picked up a Tisas 1911A1 Tanker in .45 about two years ago, and all I did to it was change the plastic grips for a 20 dollar set of rosewood grips. That and ran all manner of ammunition to it, steel, aluminum and brass case (6 different manufactures as well) to the count of 500 rounds, without cleaning or adding any oil (that was all on purpose to vet it as a carry gun) no problems, aside from it didn't like SIG hollow points. Turns out Hydra-Shok's are it's preferrence. That being said I treat it much nicer now, of course.
The Tisas nightstalker 10mm is awesome 😎 I carry mine when I walk around in the woods on my property. It runs great and I ported the barrel where they put the slide cuts, and it works excellent with no spring tuning or anything. Keeps the 10mm as flat as you can ask a gun to do.
@@DR676767 the nightstalker is the best 10mm 1911 they have right now. Comes with machined internals, not MIM parts. Excellent quality and value. I got mine for 600 on gunbroker.
@@DR676767 I don’t know about “the first” but I know some older models do have mim parts that are now machined parts. Bull armory does have mim parts and machined parts. They are both really nice guns in my opinion with Bul having nicer higher end options as well as double stack models.
I own a Tisas 10mm. Great gun. My friend has a old Colt Delta and the machining looks better on the Tisas. I’ll put it up against any 10mm. And don’t get me started on my other Tisas 1911’s. My 45acp’s and a 9mm !
About 30 years shooting 1911s heavy. $400 tisas, fit a Wilson barrel bushing and sanded the trigger bow/ track and got a 1” 8 round group at 15 yards and 4.25 lb consistent trigger. Over 1,000 rds no feed problems using Wilson mags, 100% reliable
I love that people are finally giving them some love. I carried an old tisas off brand for 10 years. Shot the ever living hell out of it, and it just asked for more. it did eventually get regulated to a bedside drawer, but my experience with it was stellar, and may pick up another. for the money these things are hard to beat.
I had a similar experience with a another Turkish pistol, the Girsan MC 1911 S .45 ACP. I added (because I wanted them, not that they were needed) $20 Magpul grip panels and a Talon Grips $5 front strap. Very inexpensive and all around "pretty good".
The intro was so beautiful and reminds me of every single towns love story in my state (Missouri). I cried, not tears of sadness, but tears of happiness and the beautiful reality of life. Thank you for rekindling this feeling in me.
I got the really cheap Tisas 1911-A1 It cost less than $450. I put Wilson Combat plunger spring and detent, in it to stiffen up the safety. I put a Wilson Combat front strap checkering piece in it, along with some nice wood grips. That's it. It's the only 1911 I own, but I have considered buying another Tisas just because their prices are definitely going to go up. I compared mine to the fit and finish of a Springfield at my local Sporting goods store. I wouldn't buy the Springfield. It's fit was nowhere near as good as my Tisas. I'm glad you guys reviewed it. Now you know what the rest of us have known all along, that you don't need to spend $1K to get a really nice 1911.
I carried M1911A1s in the U.S. Army for 16 years. After 32 years, I bought a TISAS MODEL M1911A1 U.S. ARMY in 9×19mm. It came with nicely figured Turkish walnut double diamond grips and fully checkered plastic "GI" grips & two MecGar 9 round magazines. I bought three 10 round magazines for carry purposes, and it's like I was issued a brand-new GI-issue pistol (except for the caliber) instead of the 30+ year old 1911A1s I actually carried. I don't plan on doing anything to this pistol except carry it & shoot it...a lot. I feel like I've come home. I'm wearing it now in a Safariland 578 GLS "PRO-FIT" paddle holster that I just wish I had in "olden times."
I have a tisas 1911 in 45. It's my first 1911 and I fucking love it. Definitely had to change the grips to some g10s and my need to adjust the rear sight a bit. But over all love it.
Very good production on this video. Really liked the intro. I have one of the Tisas 1911 A1 army. Sights are not for target shooting. It is a replica of a WWII era 1911. No issues with this $350 gun.
Tonight on 1911 Syndicate: Jake fantasies about his local Chili's hostest who really a 1, Chris is shocked by his nemesis.....Math, and an expensive in Turkey 1911 appears on the show..
Me too. It’s one of the best hand guns I’ve ever owned. Flawless. Fine guns from fine designs are made all over the world. This is one of them. A more than fair price makes these Tisas 45’s a no brainer if you prefer that design. I certainly do.
@@richardmooremoore4127same here...my Tisas 1911-A1 only cost me $400 & it was an excellent pistol. As can be expected with all 1911's it had a couple of hiccups during the first 300 rounds, but after that it ran 100% and even with the tiny G.I. sights it was easy to shoot tight groups. Tisas rocks 👍👍👍👍
Along with the goodness mentioned in the video, is the lowered and beveled ejection port, throated barrel and an undercut at the back of the trigger guard. We have the stainless Duty model in God’s caliber (.45acp) in our shop, and upon disassembly I found the interior remarkably free of tool marks. While I need another 1911 like I need a bad day, I think I’m going to take this Ashley home……
I bought a Tisas 9mm in early 2022 for $420 in Indiana. It has been nothng but reliable right out of the box. I liked the fit and finish of it and it makes a great truck gun.
I picked up one in late 21 in a black Friday same. $350 I didn't expect what I got. I tried several mid to high 9mm. All failed miserably. After a few months I finally took it out. I used a box of mixed competition ammo. About 600 rds later I had one malfunction. I put sights and grips on it. Recently put ice magwell and about 2k thru it now and it's still running. I do plan to checker the front strap.
For what it's worth , my 83 year old gunsmith .... yes age 83. Is very impressed with Tisas quality. He has seen 1911s for over 50 years and he can't get over the quality for this price .
I have a 9mm carry. I took a stone to it plus some work on the extractor. Only 250 rounds through it but it seems reliable now and it is a pleasure to operate.
I bought a Tisas 2 years ago, 1911/45. Awesome for 500 rds. Then I bought $500 worth of Wilson Combat parts and changed everything but the Frame, slide and barrel... and it works awesome... just saying
The only thing these Tisas 1911's really need are maybe some better grips and a fluff and buff to the parts that rub together and they smooth out very nicely and the trigger can be improved even more with a little bit of TLC. I have a couple of this exact model and even picked one up on black Friday from KY Gun Co for 399 shipped with no tax which is a steal IMO
I have this 9mm Tisas 1911. Excellent trigger ,feeds as good as any pistol I have. A year into it with 5 hundred plus rounds zero malfunctions. Very smooth shooter.
My Tisas carry 4.25 in 45 had no issues with stock mags. It doesn't like the Wilson combat or chip mags I have. It does, however, like Mecgar mags. Mecgar made the original mags that came with earlier Tisas guns. Thing shoots, tight fit, well machined. Not really much to go wrong for a stock $500 1911
I've had a Girsan (also Turkish) steel Commander in .45. Freaking love it! The included optic was trash - big surprise! - got a green 507C, and my shooting is better than ever. 65 years on 1911's so I'm not a greenhorn.
Knew a guy who owned a martial arts supply store. He had people bring him "authentic" Katanas that were smithed in Japan. He said while the craftsmanship was top notch, for a functional purpose the swords that were made with modern techniques, and machining were just as capable if not stronger. Not as pretty, not as prestigious, but functionally just as good. 1911s I'd say fall in the same category. Sure, the hand fit one has the highest quality parts, the top-of-the-line features, and with that the craftsman price tag. But modern machining is good enough to get you 90% there, it's just not as pretty, or prestigious.
I’ve got three Tisas 1911’s and a 10mm too. All good guns. No FTF or FTE or any problems. I changed the grips on all of them to G10’s. That’s about all but I’ve done except shoot them ! No MIM parts either !
I wanted to revisit the 1911 but I didn't want to spend the equivalent to buying a "used motorcycle" I finally bought a Tisas B45 Duty. One word WOW ❤ You are spot on with description in this video. Thank You
I have this in the 4.25 length. Runs hollowpoints well. Runs well when dirty, and it's put together well. The only problem is that the 4.25 rail sections are too short for any of the lights that are compatible with common holsters.
I've watched countless reviews on this company and their 1911 pistols. I've been trying to find just one video with a negative review. It makes me happy that i haven't found one yet. Most are like this one, where the reviewer would make little aesthetic changes here or there, but they have nothing bad to say about it straight out of the box. I have a .45 stainless duty, and i have no complaints. The only issues I've had have been with some cheap mags that I immediately weeded out of my hoard. Other than that, I've run somewhere around 500 rounds through it so far with no malfunctions caused by the gun itself.
My bantam shoots alright. The only issue I had was the safety plunger spring. I replaced it with a Wilson combat and now it runs fine, plus it gives you better safety engagement.
Anyone who says your getting paid for this obviously does not understand your love for the 1911 and the integrity of this channel. Yall are top notch gents. Zero doubts in my mind when you put the content out. I am in the category of not being able to afford most of the featured weapons on this channel. I wont be getting any guns this year im gonna run my current loadout 16" ar and glock 17. And focus on my skill set. Ill be watching closely though. And planning my prodigy 5" for when I eventually get it. Im gonna send it to skips gunz and have him do his reliability treatment on the prodigy. ❤
I own a Tisas Fatih 13 (it's a Beretta 84 clone), & it's built absolutely flawlessly. With that said, it is somewhat picky about feeding some ammo types, but otherwise, it's a very well made firearm
I picked up the same 1911 in .45ACP for 329.00 for my birthday. I have had the pleasure of slinging a few rounds through the 1911 platform over the years and was curious. I am very pleasantly impressed with my Tisas. I did modify mine slightly. I beveled the ambi-safety for comfort, and added some G10 grips I had laying around. Besides that, mine is still stock. I may change out too a checkered mainspring I have, but I have not done that yet. I don't take it out very often, so I just haven't gotten to it yet. I have only taken it out for 5 or 6 range sessions and only about 800 rounds. That being said, I have had 0 issues. Most of my rounds were reloads or some old magtech I needed to get through. Magazines were a selection from ActMag, Mec-gar, old 80s-90s era Colt factory, Chip Mccormick, and Wilson Combat. 2 Things I am also watching: 1. The plunger spring assembly for the safety feels just a bit weak. 2. The trigger needs a little love. It is a bit too much play for my liking. The trigger break alone is not bad, but there is a little too much take-up and over-travel. Nothing a weekend and some time in the shop couldn't handle. Altogether though, I can recommend it so far. The Tisas was definitely worth what I paid. At 580, I become more hesitant. That is entering some steep competition around the 600 mark... Edited because I forgot to mention the caliber. Sorry guys.
So glad ya decided to try out something cheap for yourself. I have no investment into tisas or single stacks but many times in the Ak world I’ve been more impressed with better valued guns vs the internets heralded go to favorites. Value is key, how much do I get for my money.
I have a Tisas D10, their 10mm option. Fantastic gun with all the bells and whistles, with front and back checkering, adjustable rear site, and a standard barrel bushing setup. I bought it for hunting and so far zero issues. Can’t beat them for the price. Bottom line is Tisas guns show you how much your overpaying for the high end custom 1911’s!
I’ve been customizing and upgrading this brand for years. I’ll put my 1911’s up against any 1911 custom or otherwise. What sold me was viewing the Tisas manufacturing video available on RUclips. These guns are made of the best materials on the latest CNC equipment under surgical conditions. I often think that they’re being offered at this price point to make inroads. I believe this is due to the crummy history the Turkish government has. Bottom line this gun is so much better than so many other so-called name brands. All of my upgrades have been done by myself as a hobby and in each case with jaw dropping results. Everyone that owns one of these will totally agree, also aside from the boutique US made guns what is actually made here. The only thing that remained is the brand name.
I think Ruger uses cast, mim way better than used to be, my favorite 1911 Bul Armory 9mm 5”, at least 15,000 rds, main competition pistol, IDPA, USPSA single stack, runs like a Glock, not sure if forged or cast, probably most parts mim, pd 750.00 5 years ago, came with fixed blade knife with different color 1911 grips, this model around 850 now, I enjoy your videos with high end stuff but plenty of options under 899-1000 bucks that run, nice seeing this video 👍
I picked one up at a gun show. Kinda on a whim as it was not expensive. Very impressed with it. It’s not my EDC. It’s the gun that lives between the cushions of my truck!😬
I bought my tisas 1911A1 clone over 10 years ago, skeptical about a Turkish made 1911, and and still amazed, shocked, and proud of how well this is made and engineered. Hammer forged stainless steel barrel, forged frame and machined billet tool steel slide, extractor runs fine, trigger is way better than anything else in its class! I feel bad for people that bought Rock Island, over Johnson and Thompson instead. The epoxy finish is now worn off, and trigger was gunsmithed to 4 pounds, and 24 pound recoil spring for 45 Super +P now, and runs great! No jams, super accurate, and trigger is mind reading, shames striker fired modern designs. Buy one before the price hikes up!
I bought my first 1911 last year so I don’t have anything to compare it to but it is the TISAS Duty that is being reviewed. I absolutely love it. I thought my wife’s 1991 baby desert eagle first gen had an outstanding trigger but imo my TISAS 1911 tops it by a thin margin. I have also had zero malfunctions out of around 220 rounds not much as I work a lot of hours and try to squeeze some target shooting in here and there but so far it is amazing.
This is a great option for someone like me that has no interest in spending thousands on a 1911 but does want one that looks great and works. Thanks for the review!
Forged Frame, Forged Slide, forged barrel. So this could be a damn good base gun and building it out the way YOU want it to. I have done that with a few Colts and a Springfield. Although these are supposed to be good out of the box. A $500 1911 to get people into the hobby is great.
Good review I have a tisas 1911 in 9mm and it shoots good. I agree totally on reviewing for what it is. My dad has a Kimber 1911 in 9 mm stainless steel very heavy in grave even the grips to his liking. When I put them both on my hands one side the other in the other hand. You can tell a difference in craftsmanship between them both. But I only spend about 465 on my tisas and my dad spend a lot more on his Kimber custom.
I've had that exact gun for about 3 months, I got it from Palmetto for $419. All in shipping, tax and transfer was under $500. It has functioned flawlessly with approaching 500 rounds at this point. The only complaint I have is I tried to replace the factory sights with night sights, I got the front sight replaced but couldn't budge the rear sight. Sight pusher didn't do anything, hammer and punch didn't cause it to budge. I fear that to get that rear sight out will involve milling it out. Anyways even with that it is a great gun period, for its price it can't be beat.
I own a couple of Tisas .45's (for quite some time now), and am VERY impressed with their operating characteristics. An affordable weapon as is, with the room to make personal improvements as wanted / required. Definitely worh the monies spent (both averaged about $350 ea).
Great video thanks. Also, just for fun I priced this model at an online purveyor of reasonable cost firearms while watching your video. $390 so with Tax and shipping to an FFL the cost was comfortably under $450; I may have to grab one for "science" to confirm your findings.
When compared to Springfield & Kimber I would rather build up a Tisas any day. Was shocked when I tore it done and not a single part was MIM. My prodigy and emissary’s have mim parts in em. Stock for stock the Tisas also ran better. Tons of failures to feed on the springfields. None with the tisas. Idk guys lol.
I just bought a TISAS 1911A-1 U.S. Army, in 45 ACP! It runs flawlessly in my opinion! I paid $329.00 dollars for it! I own Colts and Kimbers, and my first 1911 A-1 experience was in Military Police School in 1980! The TISAS reminded me very much of my issued Remington Rand of many years ago, except the TISAS was 100% reliable, as my Remington Rand was both worn out, as well as the magazines that we were issued. They were not well cared for in the least, and if we complained, we were told that... "You'll never need to use them anyway, except when you qualify!" I was shocked how well the TISAS was put together! God Bless... Bill
I bought the slightly more expensive "Raider" model and I'm loving it. I was blown away with how well made this thing is. I even bought my first pistol light, a Surefire X300U, just to go with it. It's better than my old Springfield 1911 at a cheaper price. I wanna buy another one now. I'm looking at their 10mm "Night Stalker".
@@randywilson6068 Nice. I'm planning on buying another one, myself. I'm going for the "Night Stalker" 10mm next. It's funny to think that I was completely averse to buying Turkish guns just a month ago, but this thing changed my mind completely.
Tisas and Girsan are moving to high-quality pieces. Both companies have stopped with MIM parts. They have improved triggers and construction -fit. I bought the Tisas night stalker and damn, solid, tight fit, pretty, and just fun to shoot.
I am honestly about to go to the lgs and buy one of these. And here is the thing about Turkish guns, turkey and the ottomans where gunpowder empires, only big because they had guns and the people they conquered didn't. So turkey has a long long long history of firearms manufacturing, so Turkish guns are pretty good, and most guns can be CNC machined these days so it ain't a issue.
I know I’m 3 months late, but you’ve hit the nail on the head - Turks have been manufacturing firearms for a looong time. I remember watching a SAR9 review a couple of years ago and the reviewer referred to Sarsilmas as a “newer Turkish company trying to earn a place in the big league” or something to that effect, and all I could think of was “brother, this «newer company» has been manufacturing firearms since 1880” 😅
A 1911 is one gun I wanna get my hands on and initially I wanted to grab a Springfield ronin as my first. The operator by Springfield is my dream 1911 in 45 to have, but I’ve been debating on buying a cheap gun to do my own work on. Something I wouldn’t be afraid of toying with and cheap enough that I’m comfortable doing so, maybe this is the one? It’s either this or something from rock island probably 😅
The fact that the 1911 Syndicate put a stamp of approval on a gun I own and can afford. Mind blown.
Lol
I came here to say the same thing.
And hickok45

Interesting but overlooked thing about the tisas guns is they have a titanium firing pin and steel internals, where most or some guns even more expensive has MIM or cast internals. Tisas seriously raised the bar on what a cheap 1911 should be.

Agreed!

Enjoy it this week cause it back to crazy stuff in a week haha
The only MIM part on Tisas 1911s after 2022 is the recoil spring plug which is easily replaceable with an aftermarket recoil spring plug
I picked up this model online for $359. Couldn't pass it up at the price. It was good right out of the box, but added about $185 in Wilson combat parts and did a trigger job. Runs fantastic. Especially after I cut a loop off the mag release spring. :)
What model is it
Tisas 1911 Duty B45R
@@lennywiuff3397 What wilson parts did you put in it. looking to do the same for my duty tisas.
Thanks for asking. I added an extended mag release, skeltonized ultralight long tigger (adjustable), shok- buff set with flat-wound spring and a stainless flat mainspring housing. I liked the checkering on the Wilson part better.
@@lennywiuff3397 would you replace the PLUNGER TUBE ASSEMBLY? Reportedly people do it and it improves on the safety.

Boom
Six years ago, I received an daily email from CDNN offering an unknown-to-me stainless 1911. For $450. The same model you featured in .45 . I tried to talk myself out of it, but in the end I purchased it. Everyone who sees that gun thinks it probably cost at least $900. It came with two sets of grips and two Mec-Gar mags. Never one failure; not from the first round. Two brands of firearms I was talking about before they were household names---BUL and Tisas.
Nice, thanks for the continued support.
Back then they used MIM parts, but I'm glad to see they're constantly improving.
I bought one last Christmas.
It is excellent. Fit and finish is
Far beyond what it should be for the price I paid.
I own several Tisas 1911s and a couple Polymer pistols. The fit, finish and reliability is crazy for the price or even twice the price.
This was a great review, I really hope we see more budget options in the future

The Tisas 1911s seem to be quality. I got to Tactically Fondle multiple of them at SHOT Show and Industry Range Day and was impressed by their feel compared to Rock Island Armory 1911s. I like both options because they've created options for people that want to own multiple types of guns without investing crazy money.

Nice! Rosewood really pops on a 1911.

Just picked up a Tisas SS45R: carry version of this in stainless, with Colt series 70 internals and two mecgar mags in the box. Hard to beat for 499
I love that people are finally giving them some love.
We're hoping we can keep some models in the same price point.

I picked up one in late 21 in a black Friday same. $350 I didn't expect what I got. I tried several mid to high 9mm. All failed miserably. After a few months I finally took it out. But why ? It doesn't even have min parts.
I wanted to try and see if the WC parts would fit and work properly... and it did. The Tisas doesn't know she isn't a Colt.. 😆
The more you shoot it the better.

Oh yes, they will be going up soon.
Interesting.
I’m going to remember this as I’m cycling through my mags when I get one. Good to know.
Ohh, I forgot to mention the prices. I didn’t pay over $450. For any of mine except the 10mm and it was $580.
This is a good RUclips channel. I don't care what people say.

I have this in the 4.25 length. Runs hollowpoints well. Runs well when dirty, and it's put together well. The only problem is that the 4.25 rail sections are too short for any of the lights that are compatible with common holsters.
Hit up CS, we had a few rails out of spec at one point.
Really glad you are reading and responding to comments, SDS. Good job!
My personal bantam got a Wolff kit after a few months, made the pistol more alive for sure.
Anyone who says your getting paid for this obviously does not understand your love for the 1911 and the integrity of this channel. Yall are top notch gents. I own a Tisas Fatih 13 (it's a Beretta 84 clone), & it's built absolutely flawlessly. With that said, it is somewhat picky about feeding some ammo types, but otherwise, it's a very well made firearm
We tend to find the small 380's are picky on some ammo. Glad you really enjoy it!
2 Things I am also watching:

Had mine 3 years love it .Much better than my Kemper. My EDC is a 9mm made by Tisas.
Which model you rocking?
Ive got the Service 1911a1 .45,over 10,000 rounds thru it and the Carry BR45 with over 8,000 thru it.Great guns
I had a Jeep Cherokee named Ashley. She was a truly dirty girl. We had many adventures. It was a sad day when we had to part.
Do you ever look at the moon and wonder if she's looking up at the same moon?
@@sds_armsSometimes, I wish Ashley was still around. I am sure she continues to have adventures with her current owner.
This is a great option for someone like me that has no interest in spending thousands on a 1911 but does want one that looks great and works. Thanks for the review!
I love my Tisassess they shoot killer. Tisas Carry and the Raider FDE is killer man..👍👍 By the way you guys ROCK..
Cheers mate
Forged Frame, Forged Slide, forged barrel.
So this could be a damn good base gun and building it out the way YOU want it to. I have done that with a few Colts and a Springfield.
Although these are supposed to be good out of the box.
A $500 1911 to get people into the hobby is great.
We have builders kits too.
Left to right. Which pusher?
@@sds_arms A wheeler pusher.
Craziness
@@1911syndicate whelp I messed up; the non-railed version is sub $400, but the railed version is all of $480 still seems like an incredible deal.
Thank yall for this review some of the budget options don't get reviewed cause they get disrespected because of their price point
"You'll never need to use them anyway, except when you qualify!"
I was shocked how well the TISAS was put together!
God Bless...
Bill
I have been eyeballing Tisas 1911 9mm’s for a while. Leaning toward the base gun and build out to a MEUSOC’ish clone
That would be super dope and it’s also super cool Jake liked this gun and it ran well
@1911.syndicate Do tell
We got a MEU on the planning board...
@@sds_armsDo it…as retro as possible but in 9mm
I bought the slightly more expensive "Raider" model and I'm loving it. I was blown away with how well made this thing is. I even bought my first pistol light, a Surefire X300U, just to go with it. It's better than my old Springfield 1911 at a cheaper price. I wanna buy another one now. I'm looking at their 10mm "Night Stalker".
I also bought a Raider. I love it! I also love my other 3 Tisas 1911's.
@@randywilson6068 Nice. I'm planning on buying another one, myself. I'm going for the "Night Stalker" 10mm next. It's funny to think that I was completely averse to buying Turkish guns just a month ago, but this thing changed my mind completely.
Their M45 clone is also really solid. Cheap Turkish shotguns are doodoo but cheap Turkish pistols are solid.
Just bought one at a gun show, was blown away by the quality for the money$$.
Welcome to the world of Turkish handguns. They are killing it.
There be no killing around here...
Canik
Chris walking behind that backdrop with that song in slow-mo is golden!!!! lol
Tisas and Girsan are moving to high-quality pieces. Both companies have stopped with MIM parts. They have improved triggers and construction -fit. I bought the Tisas night stalker and damn, solid, tight fit, pretty, and just fun to shoot.
Shot Show 2024!!!!
@@sds_armswish I could of done something with you guys😢
Tisas is using more forged and machined parts.. I mean Ashley!!!!
You can occasionally find other versions of Tisas 1911s for even less - such as a $299 street price last week
