  • In part 2 of the Cars and Coffee Build, I attempt to level up the sound of the cheapest Porsche 911 (996) in the country with an affordable exhaust option that will make it sound like a $187K GT3 (based on a 996 generation GT3 original sale price adjusted for inflation). Take a look at the journey to get the exhuast installed and hear the before and after sound, including a 911 GT3 sound comparison.

      Glad you enjoyed it and I’m working on getting more parts to continue the build. I’ll have some other content in between, but will keep this build going.

    For anyone reading this, it takes all of 6-8 minutes to remove the bumper cover. It's just super easy to have it out of the way, and you avoid scratching it this way

      Are 997 the same?...

      @@mikefranky for the most part yes, the front bumper skin is trivial to remove.

      Glad you enjoyed it. The sound is so much better now. I recently installed a new stereo, but find I only use the navigation as the sound track of the exhaust is better than any music.

    Did this last year. Didn’t have to remove the bumper but may be I should have since it was a bit more difficult. And I must say that I love the sound. My wife still thinks that it was crazy to pay to have the car sound louder. Likely I have guys like you that would understand!. 😂

      I certainly understand and my wife does fully understand either. It makes driving it a bit more fun.

      It certainly makes it more fun to rev it out and I don’t get headaches afterwards from the drone as I have in some exhaust setups.

    Good video . as mentioned bumper and wheels dont have to come off . Looking at how low your tips are from the cut away in the bumper ... you motormounts are shot .

      Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for informing about being able to take off the bumper. Motormounts are on the list to do in one of the next videos, so that should correct that issue.

    Definitely can take the muffler off without taking the bumper off. When I did my spark plugs and coils, I removed the muffler. Its WAY easier to just throw the car on jack stands and remove the rear wheels.

      Thanks for the confirmation. It definitely doesn’t work with ramps, but thanks for confirming that it works with a jack and jack stands. I’m looking at some other lift options and have cleaned the garage clutter quite a bit after this, so will have more room to work.

    I have the cabriolet with sport exhaust switch does this do the same thing?

    • @OurRideLife
      @OurRideLife  Год назад +1

      It is a similar design, but the factory sports exhaust has a valve to turn it off an on. The Fister Sports Exhaust is essentially a sports exhaust that is always on.

    You should always remove the back wheels!
