This is my farming loop. I love the Reta. When I don't have the Idris bounty, I just do ERTs and that's fine, so fast to make easy money. No damned bunkers here, just holly torpedoes. But I will wait the next patch. I was on the 3.18 live yesterday and today : what a pain :(
@@kemical37 You can farm up to a tali quite easily by either running bunkers or spamming "Illegal monitors detected" mercenary missions around microtech. Rental Connie deals with any bounty up to ERT and the 600i, now that it has gotten the HP buff, bends ERTs over and can even solo the Idris, High Threat beacons obviously also work fine. I only backed for the pisces and I was farming with the tali like this as soon as the beacons came into the game, before that I was using the Eclipse because it just flies so much better. Btw, having a buddy to team up with means you don´t even have to restock as you can fly two talis or one tali and one eclipse or one tali and one gunship, connie/600i/Corsair depending on what you own, heck, even a vanguard might do the trick. There is currently no pay to win in star citizen, only for very brief moments to the owners of ships get them all for themselves after release and those, if broken and OP at all, won´t be like that for long (RIP Ares Ion owners) So yeah, git gud.

Nice video, I'm doing solo criticals with Corsair equipped with 2x S5 balistics, 2x S5 canons and 2x S4 canons. Full balistic doesn't have the ammo to kill Idris while full laser canon is too sluggish and usually the contractor dies. Also the capacitor is too small for 6 canons. I'm one month in the verce and Retaliator will definitely be my next ship. PP: I had one hilarious critical kill with Inferno, I rammed the Idris in the nose after went OOM and got the kill and credits. Really regret haven't taped it.
Start with eclipse, take out hammerheads and cutlas. Self destruct, pull our retaliator and finish mission. Self destruct and claim insurance for 0 cost
are those pirates that we kill in this mission ? if so how come they got their hands on an idris ? if not how come we dont get crime stat from killing them ?
Oh I didn’t know you could leave the beacon area to restock while flying solo, as I usually do crit beacons in a party. I’ve managed to play a couple of hours and already have the critical and high beacons, but I’ve been using a Scorpius.
@@syscall9574 Scorpius cannot solo high threat beacons, by the time you get through a HH’s shield, it’ll blow the the ship you are supposed to protect. I’m staying on moderate threat until I can get a Retaliator in-game, should take me about a week, depending on when the patch is fixed
@@shawnc5188 uhm. I do fine solo in my scorpius to even kill when the mission spawns 3 HH's which is the max. Usually 2 and a starfarer for high threat beacons. 4xS3 panthers instead of the stock S2 badgers. Alway focus fire smallest targets first, (which is probably a cutty or valkyrie) work your way up. It's mostly the smaller targets that keep harassing your defense target. Once those are gone you are usually fighting a single HH at a time as the other will be a bit out of range typically. That and they will focus fire you, not the defense target. A scorpius can easily orbit around a HH and not get shot. Setting shields to full forward will help in case you miff your orbiting. I usually just go 70/30 on forward/back when soloing . as the AI will focus your front.

I was practicing with my Scorp for the wipe, and right now, even if I could play the game, markers aren’t spawning properly, so hopefully I can get some beacons done before the weekend - planning to use my Scorp with panthers from my MSR, and do bounties with my super hornet. In 3.17 I’ve been a torpedo boi, so gotta learn to fly a bit better
About how long does it take for the idris to kill the friendly? I feel like for a major struggle i could solo/duo this in my inferno, but i worry about the ai im defending lasting that long.
That is why the servers are dying. Too much crap everywhere... Now imagine having thousands of players doing this, they would need the whole available AWS infra to support the game.
Its not as lucrative. Critical threat beacons tend to spawn less frequently in 3.19 Idrises use more counter measures and can now shoot down incoming torpedoes.
I'm confused how you were doing so much damage to the idris. I did the eckhart security idris in 3.17 and I used every missile from 2 Tali's and 2 Eclipse's and didnt miss any of them but the idris would not die. Are the ones in combat beacons weaker maybe?
There is no difference in HP, ive completed the Eckhart Idris mission solo with the Tali and 6 missiles in 3.17. Sounds like you were encounter an anomalous situation
did you fire 1 torpedo at a time? ive noticed if you do only 1 or 2 torps, the shields come back up by the time you do another pass so it takes longer. i usually fire 3 at a time and that seems to work more consistently. but also this patch torps seem to be missing more often tha not.

I have fun playing most parts of the game. Sometimes its firing torpedos at Idris's, sometimes it's challenging myself by using the Ares Inferno in pvp. I get that it would be boring if you only played the game with a torpedo bomber.
You could probably call anything in game boring if that’s ALL you do. If all someone did was cargo running then that’s boring. Or doing normal bounties over and over. Or ONLY mining could be boring and that’s “just after auec”. I think the beauty of SC is the fact that you CAN do all of these different things whenever you want

Yea, I've used the Torp ships, and they are great for making some quick money, but yes, they do get boring imo. I tend to do a little bit of everything though to keep things fresh, and it's nice to have options and different play styles, something there for everyone.
i really wish this game was more stable. its potential is so damn good but the delivery... guh its like watching a professional golfer miss a 1 ft putt to lose the round

The game didn`t implement Point Defense turrets yet, AI can try to shoot it down, but not very good at it, they are very slow in their reaction time. Only two bomber in the game, and that`s basically all they do, I would not say it`s balanced, but that makes so even if you are on a bigger ship, doesn`t mean you are invincible. PvP is completely different than PvE, and once PDT is in place, I doubt those stealth bombers will be much useful besides trying to blow a ship and run away on a massive scale space combat.
Imagine shooting a nuclear warhead into the hammerhead. That level of explosive load. It makes sense. The NPCs - until recently - just never used flares. In a PvP, most people would be able to dodge or flare enough to avoid that. S9 and S10 only purpose is to destroy capital and corvette ships; Idris, Javelin, etc. So you basically have a weapon to destroy a Battleship (eg IJN Kaga) but you drop it onto a Destroyer (eg IJN Javelin)…

I have an MSR in my hanger, which I CCU’ed for BIS, but my original plan is to CCU up to the tally
If you pledge for the base tali you get the bomber for a loaner. 150 gets you the tali and an arrow.

3.20 doesn't seem to like leaving the mission area anymore. When you go to restock it insta fails the mission.

Beacons spawn periodically around every major planet. If they are not spawning, completing a couple npc bounties usually starts spawning them

You can restock at any station/city/facility. The restock bug has been fixed in 3.18

Dude is it a size 9 Torpedo. That Torpedo is Beet than a small ship
