I had teachers in elementary and high school that were brilliant at math; but majority of the time they have to care and know that their future depends on the young mind. A lot of times it is the environment that a person is brought up in; I mean they have to want you to succeed! Don’t mind me, carry on! ❤️

When I was young, my dad would play a game with me where we would compete to find the easiest way to do different computations that we would suggest to each other! He would also challenge me to read everything written on advertisement boards on the street before we passed it (on our scooter), so my reading speed in English as well as a few Indian languages is quite good.
One of my mathematics teachers at school told us to factorise the 4-digit numbers we saw on vehicle number plates (registration numbers), when we were about 9 or 10. I still do it (I hold a Masters in Mathematics and am doing PhD in Computer Science)!

He also invented a pre-curser to calculus. The infinite power series.

Ya calculator not given . I remember a particular event in my class . One day a new guest teacher to my class in class 5 and just to engage us , she gave us a huge calculation math .. that took me use the whole blackboard about 5 times to erase and took me the whole and even after Tiffin period it was not completed , the teacher became fan of me as it was really tough for the class as i managed to do that because my dad used to teach me maths and science in home , who was very good at that and he used the tougher version of math books Keshab changra Nag version books . That was quite tough and just because i dont like easy things only hard brain provoking things can engage me doing study .. now i can relate why he used tougher books for me . I was very fickle minded easily get distracted or loose interest if its not brain provoking and tough ..i love challenges ..miss my dad . Love you for giving real education not just marks on mark sheet
