    As an Indian, Many Indian students attend English medium schools, which can sometimes make it challenging for them to fully understand subjects taught in English. However, when it comes to math, language is not a barrier. This is one of the reasons why Indians tend to do well in math

    • @Poppy_pop
      @Poppy_pop 7 месяцев назад +75

      I don't think learning subjects in english is a problem for people who went to english medium schools from the get go(which is most of the population) because we learn english from the start. Heck most of us learned the English alphabet before the alphabets of our regional language. What I think makes people think we are good at maths is the sheer number of people in our country makes it so that even if a small percentage of the population is good at something it amounts to a LOT of people. And ofc the people who represent us outside of India are people who move out for work or other reasons are mostly people who are good at maths(as most people work in IT or other science-related fields)which is why they even make it out of the country in the first place.

    There is no -0 or +0

    People seem to forget that division and multiplication are in essence the same kind of operation. Some people learn PEDMAS, and others learn PEMDAS. The most important parts of PEDMAS/BODMAS are to do parentheses first, then expressions/exponent, then division/multiplication, then addition/subtraction. E.g. when you divide a number by 7, you are in essence multiplying it by (1/7), so whether you do multiplication or division first doesn’t matter. You will arrive to the same result, as long as you do P&E before, and A&S after.

    Indian Maths student here 🧍🏻‍♀️
    Yuki was actually going the right way!
    According to BODMAS rule,
    x=6-1×0+2÷2
    x=6-1×0+1
    x=6-0+1
    x=6-1
    x=5
    As Indians, this rule is almost second nature to us when doing plain math, so i get her :p
    Edit: Good gracious, I started quite a war 😭
    Alr so I thank the people who were civilized enough to be nice about it, and to those who weren't, you guys are the reason that many students are afraid to voice out their opinions from fear of being called dumb. I had clearly only ever said I was a student and that obviously means I am prone to making mistakes, in fact even professionals could make basic mistakes.
    I wasn't trying to hide myself or anything, but simply waiting for a school day so my teacher could correctly explain this to me. And I finally got it! To those who found the answer to be 5, here's the reason it's 7:
    The key lies with the sign before 0 here;
    (-0+1) was the operation taking place because the minus sign cannot be kept as is, and most of us who got 5 made a mistake there.
    So, -0+1=1
    Therefore, 6+1=7
    Not calling anyone dumb or anything. In fact, there's even people who got answers different from 5 and 7; the best thing to do is explain nicely, not criticise people harshly like some in the comments whom I'm not going bother gracing with a reply.
    Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the explanations :))

      @@sidk1210Addition and subtraction are in the same hierarchy. Because subtracting is the same as doing an addition with a negative number. So they should be solved in order from left to right, whichever comes first

      Idk man, I've just been taught that way, it's what most Indians have done all their life. As I said, we have a particular rule we stick to when we solve these questions.
      And to answer your question, +1 became -1 because addition comes before subtraction in the BODMAS rule, the plus sign was used in the operation with 0 (0+1=1) and the (6-) was joined with (1) so we got (6-1=5).

It was just an easy level of aptitude questions, which is the basic for every general competitive exam. found it roasting because she said NASA didn't know. not commenting anything about anyone, because everyone has their own interest in subjects, and they are good at that, but I found the NASA thing hilarious 😁👍😊😅

    In the 4th question , the answer can also be 830
    we know that 5+3=28
    using this we can say the value of 3 to be 23
    we know that 7 = 9+6-8
    from previous equations 9 can be equated to 809
    6 can be equated to 206
    and 8 can be equated to 208
    substituting this we get 7=(809+206)-208
    and 7=807
    3=23
    therefore 7+3= 807+23=830
