I live in Melbourne australia I wish we could grow what you can grow Thank you for showing your dahlia garden what a beautiful dahlia garden you have please keep doing more videos Please Please Please !!!!!!
Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful flowers with us! I’ve just planted my very first 4 dahlias and I’m so excited to see how they do. Your garden is an inspiration!
Beautiful! I've added some of these to my wishlist. The large pink one looks like 'lucky number'. I like it when I get surprise dahlias like that from the big box stores
I am blown away! ❤❤❤❤. This is my second video of yours and your dalhias are impressive!!! I asked many questions on the other video so I’m eagerly awaiting your answers and guidance!!!!!
I´ve enjoyed watching your dahlias..wow...thanks for sharing...I have a question: how long does it take to bloom from the starting? Thank you so much my dear.
My dahlias started showing growth from the ground back in April. So I would say 2 months but it also depends on your area. Do you have a warmer climate or cooler climate.
How lovely! Thanks for the efforts in making such a good video! I can't wait for spring to begin planting. How do you stake them? Do you have a favorite way to support dahlias?
Hi Gouri, I use different ways of staking my plants. I've used freestanding trellis and also pieces of wood with strings. I will try to make a video of how I stake my dahlias this year. Thank you for watching!
Wow great show of the flowers in bloom ,how far do you space them .feed them water etc I am in my early days of trying to grow them but not getting much results to be honest love dahlas as does alot of pests
Honeydew is really amazing. Peaches and Cream looks like a must-have. Gets Crazy is a good choice same as Black Satin. Crazy Love is performing well in my garden too. Now I will try what I can buy here in Germany.
Beautiful dahlias! Thank you for giving a tour of these lovely blooms. Of the three dark red varieties (Lights out, Black satin and Karma choc) which one would you recommend to grow? I am new to dahlias and have smaller garden space.
All 3 are pretty similar to each other. The difference I notice is that Black satin is taller. The leaves on Karma choc is darker in color. Lights out and Karma choc are about the same height. Black satin is producing more flowers. I like them all but I’d choose Black Satin. Thank you for watching! 🌸
I have about 40 dahlias. My dahlias are in grow boxes because we have lots of gophers who like to eat them. We have mild winters here so I leave them in the box over winter. I dig up the old ones to thin them. Thank you for watching! 😊
Check out this website: www.dahlias.com/ They have a couple of dahlias called "Outta Da Blue" and "Blue Bayou" that looks interesting. Thanks for stopping by!
Unfortunately I don’t have a video on that subject. But thanks for the idea. Here’s a link to where I purchased my dahlias. They have some really great tips on dahlias. youtube.com/@SwanIslandDahlias Thank you for watching! 🌸
We use Neem Oil. Here's an Amazon link amzn.to/3Pko6CK Also, I do not wet the leaves when I water. I water low on the ground. I live near the ocean and we get fog that causes moisture on the plants. Towards the end of the season I do get mildew. At that point I just leave the plants and not treat them since I will be pulling them out anyway. Hope that was helpful.
Hi Maria! I’ve not have problems with earwigs. I think the most common problem I have is powdery mildew due to our proximity to the beach. We get fog. Mostly late summer to fall. Thank you for watching! 🌸
YES, 'Mr. Optimist' is truly wonderful and just might be my favorite dahlia of all time !

One of my dahlias from last year, Pooh, took roughly 9 weeks from sprouting to blooming.

Love your Dahlias, what kind of soil and fertilizer do you use ?
We get our soil from different places like our local nursery or Home Depot. I use MiracleGro at least twice a month. Thank you for watching! 🌼

Beautiful collection of dahlias! How many do you have and how do you overwinter them?

Brava bravissima, you have some beautifull dahlias,do you leave them in the containers?Bye from sunny Italy
I have them in huge boxes because we have gophers that love to eat them. Thank you so much for watching! 😊
6:09 would be nice to plant during independence day in the US. Have you come across any blue or deep blue dahlia varieties?
Check out this website: www.dahlias.com/
They have a couple of dahlias called "Outta Da Blue" and "Blue Bayou" that looks interesting. Thanks for stopping by!
I wanna see how you plant them
Unfortunately I don’t have a video on that subject. But thanks for the idea. Here’s a link to where I purchased my dahlias. They have some really great tips on dahlias. youtube.com/@SwanIslandDahlias
Thank you for watching! 🌸
Wow! What country/state do you live in? Are they perennial or annual for you?
Hi Paul, California. They bloom from spring to about late fall. They die back in the winter and come back the following year.
My dahlias get mildew easily. Looks like your dahlias are close to each other. How you prevent the mildew. Thanks
We use Neem Oil. Here's an Amazon link amzn.to/3Pko6CK
Also, I do not wet the leaves when I water. I water low on the ground. I live near the ocean and we get fog that causes moisture on the plants. Towards the end of the season I do get mildew. So do you leave them in the ground to winter over? Or pull them out? I don’t understand from previous answer on another comment
