gotta love how this doesn't really change the game but gives the player hints to change the outcome of the game,way smarter than if just changes to a different cinematic
Kinda similar to the Dark Pictures: Man of Medan where if you collect the right documents you will get an in game conversation putting together details that there’s this hallucinogenic gas in there air that causes you to see crazy scary shit for a while till you inevitably get slain by heart attack or something it wasn’t clear on that part

The only unexplained part is where he is apparently killed in Panama in the first part when Woods threw a grenade at him which also killed his sister. At least they never show his body. Of course Menendez is second only to Makarov in CoD series for being the biggest Hero Killer and almost invincible villain.

I wish we could achieve a secret good ending if we acquire all of these evidences. Mason and Woods flushes out and kills Menendez, arrests Noriega, saves little David "Section" and Hudson would probably getting court martialed. And an achievement pops "Problem solved, Series over".

Black Ops 2 is such a crazy well thought out game in the campaign. Like I never knew Harpers face wouldn't get burned if you drove a certain path and such till replaying it a few times. It doesn't change anything really, other then some dialogue, but it's just such a neat detail.
He also does voice Masaru Watase in the English dub of Yakuza: Like A Dragon, and Like A Dragon: Gaiden, along with Takaaki Matsunaga other voices in Like A Dragon 8: Infinite Wealth. Meanwhile, Treyarch doesn't recast him.
To be honest, while finding the memo gives you a better clue, it's more cooler if you don't find it, because Mason pausing and not saying anything until after the screen goes dark is more ominous.
@@Wallbangedbyme That's one clue. The other clue is the CIA memo from this video. Both clues together should have guaranteed to the player (That pays attention to dialogue) to spare Mason. But for most, Wood's dialogue option alone would've been enough.
@TechnoLegends It sure as hell didn't help me when I first played it. But tbf, I was a dumb 10 y/o kid who played it thinking it was a mindless action game. I found the hints but never paid attention to dialogue and man, the consequences of my actions changed me. This game became the reason why I pay attention to every detail in any game I play now. It gave me every hint it could and I ignored them all and suffered for it. During that music sequence and Woods being confused, I slowly picked up what was being laid down and when it revealed Mason, I was completely floored and mentally scarred; for a kid to kill their favorite protagonist in a game like that changed my way of playing single player games forever.
This is the call of duty campaign that I want remastered the most. I played the hell out of the BO2 campaign when I was younger and it’s still one of my favorites to this day
I know the term “last good COD” gets thrown around all the time but this is the last one where it feels like they really tried to deliver an amazing single player experience. Since Black Ops 2, it feels like the COD games have just been coasting and haven’t really tried to innovate or push the boat out. Hell, they’re now just retreading old ground in the newer titles.
Ghost was pretty good, but that shit ending was absolute garbage. ‘Now you become the villain and history repeats’ just wtf, especially when your character knows the story so technically isn’t going through the same thing, just WTF. 🙄 but anyhow, enjoyed the story like previous CoDs (not like BO2 though) and the alien mode was so much better than the zombies imo. I wish they had done the Ghost 2 for that cliffhanger and one more aliens mode at least.
Why is that I feel that Treyarch is able to make authentic Spanisk speaking soldiers compared to Infinity Ward? Despite Alejandro and Valeria and, Treyarch to me still takes the cake in this department.
They also sounded competent and knew exactly what they were doing, not some bumbling henchmen from a TV show, but ruthless contract killers who were getting a job done.
Woods literally tells you in game to search before they burn the place to search the CIA Memo so you search for it and also you need to resist to get Kravchenko's intel by clicking the button. EVERY single THING was GUIDED by the Game Itself. Idk why people still think it doesn't make sense that Alex Mason lives. For me, it does make sense and also when you boot up BO2 game, you get the first scene of Alex Mason doesn't have any scratch in his head I mean come on. Kravchenko's voice can dsitract him from shooting well. I'm sure Treyarch are hiding something, we need for now to wait future seasons, ee references maybe in safehouse or post credit game or somewhere else and assume he is presumed dead.
If Mason shoots Kravchenko and if you find the CIA file in "Time and Fate", Woods will mention the CIA memo instead and Mason will reply with "Theres something else going on here, Woods."

There’s only flesh level story telling and so when something like the cia memo mystery and the ending where mason is still alive pops up, I get irritated because there details I will never get from the game. We really need a comic, book, or short video that explores those fine details. Zombies and the original ghost got comics so why not Alex mason
In that first room in the vid, there is a gun on the shelf, just too high to get a good look at, but from the little look I was able to get as a kid I was never able to tell what it was. Wasn't a playable gun anywhere in the game from what I could tell
I hated this in the bo2 campaign. If you restrained killing kravencko and found the memo it made no difference to the game. Same thing if you wanted the best ending. Your whole team had to die essentially. Harper had to die to save Farid. Farid had to die to save karma. And Menendez had to live to save the world.

I love the aesthetic of the black ops games, and their stories, but certain gameplay elements and sounds (too general to single out) mean I have to give it to IW. You honestly cannot beat the OG Modern warfare and Modern warfare 2.
(For those wondering, they have confirmed that BO6 takes places after the mason-menendez encounter and woods is dealing with the guilt of killing Mason, and of course he’s in a wheelchair.)

There are already one big hint for the player, Menendez is alive in Section's scenario so you cannot possibly eliminate Menendez in the past.

Black ops 2 it's the ultimate camping. Even the secundary missions give you a lot of intel/lore of the game, multiple finals, multiple choices.

Idk, Infinite Warfare seems like their last great attempt at single player modes. It and Black Ops 3 really showered single players with content.
