What's funny about that is they were said to have been approaching the hippos quietly with the engine off from a "safe distance" when it decided to chase them, and indeed a longer video shows the boat with engine off and people making minimal noise. So it really had nothing to do with the noise, hippos are known to be aggressive & territorial and this one seemed to have a young calf following it so it may have been feeling overly protective of it.
That's an underwater research drone. The guy doesn't want them recording because he probably crashed it and washed it onto shore, perhaps a malfunction.
I found almost the same device on Lake Pend Oreille in about 1980. (There is a Navy base on the lake). I turned it into the Navy and received a $250.00 reward from Raytheon about three months later. Lake Pend Oreille is the deepest lake in Idaho at 1,158'.

Hey all, I collated some information about the first video since there seems to be a lot of confusion over it.
The object there is a 'MK 18 Mod 2 UUV', which is basically an underwater drone. It goes around detecting mines so ships don't run into them. Tldr; it's a minesweeper. Note that it doesn't have any explosives on it or anything, it only detects, not disarms, so no danger to the public. Look it up if you're curious about it! It is a recent piece of kit so don't expect too much info on it though.
As for the guys in the video, they are probably just contractors who work with the Department of Defense who were sent to get data off it, or check up on it if it wasn't meant to wash up on shore. It's a publicly known and shown piece of equipment, so it's not a big deal that it's being recorded like this. It just means the guys there will have to write up an incident report and explain why/how they and the drone got recorded. Not a real issue, just more paperwork for them, which is why they are a bit annoyed.
Interestingly, the tail rotor is a little bit different than the otherwise identical images I found online, so it may be a new design with some light changes.
You really should have 5000 likes. This is useful information.

That device they found is a dropsonde dropped by an Air Force plane. They have instruments inside used to measure various information. The 403rd drops them into hurricanes to measure their intensity, but they can be used for all kinds of things. It's really not that big of a deal that someone found one, except someone in the Air Force is probably going to get yelled at for either dropping it in the wrong place or not doing a good job in tracking and recovering it. 2:22 Compressed air canisters contain 1,1 difluoroethane, a substance that is gas at room temperature. This substance is the reason you're not supposed to shake the can or use it upside down. If you were to shake it, you would realize it is partially liquid inside. That's because the 1,1 difluoroethane is compressed to six atmospheres, which turns a large amount of it into liquid to keep equilibrium. When you press the nozzle to spray, the gas in the can rapidly leaves due to the pressure, which alone can cause the can to drop a few degrees, but more importantly the liquid boils in order to return the can to an equilibrium of 6 atmospheres. As the liquid boils, the energy it has from being pressurized is released along with the gas, and thus it causes the can to cool far more rapidly.
What's happening here in this video is the can is used incorrectly. Using it like this releases the liquid, not the gas, which quickly evaporates and heavily cools whatever it comes into contact with it enough that if it's water, you get ice. I would definitely not try this at home, because 1,1 difluoroethane is, in fact, poisonous in its liquid form.
Thanks for the explanation!
Heat is energy. The correct wording would be: The energy is being absorbed from the surroundings when the liquid turns back into gaseous state, "and thus it causes the can to cool rapidly."
Even worse: most compressed air canisters are made from CFCs. Not only are you harming yourself, you are harming the environment!
You can make ice with any compressed gas. By compressing the gas you put in energy (which heats the canister up). The heat eventually disperses into the surroundings. When you decompress the gas, it expands again cooling down quickly.
The more gas expands, the colder it will get.
Thats cool, i wanna drink the liquid
Lmao the lioness pushing down the young one.
The face it does and the look to the mom is priceless.
„How could you 😢“ before falling down xD
context for compressed air clip: when you flip a can of compressed air upside down, it releases the stuff inside as a liquid, instead of a gas. This rapidly cools anything, creating ice. You could do this without running water too, just don't eat it bc the stuff is toxic. I forget the compound in it but you could look it up if you want 👍

This type of compressed air in a can is actually a completely different gas than you find in air (I think it might be butane, but I could be misremembering). The gas is compressed to the point where it becomes liquid, and since the atoms can't move about as much anymore, that is why it becomes cold. If you use the can normally, the atoms at the top of the can shoot out, which will be more gaseous than the ones at the bottom. But, if you turn the can upside down - like he does in the video - the liquid atoms shoot out and carry a lot more thermal capacity. You can even use that technique to freeze padlocks and then just smash them.
The compressed air thing is pretty cool, I’ve known about this, basically when the can is upside down, instead of just blowing air it blows out whatever else is in there causing it to rapidly cool things down. This is why when working with electronics you shouldn’t turn it more than a 45° angle

Do you want to know why the compressed air froze the faucet water? Well, the first part of the story is that it's not actually compressed air. It's refrigerant, the same stuff that's found in the pipes of refrigerators and air conditioners.
The refrigerant inside the can is a liquid because it is under high pressure. In open air, refrigerant is a gas. Thanks to the can being upside-down, the liquid refrigerant and not the gaseous refrigerant in the rest of the can came out the nozzle. Thanks to the sudden pressure change, the refrigerant boiled. When a substance transitions from solid to liquid or liquid to gas, that substance takes in thermal energy to break down the intermolecular bonds that hold the substance's molecules together to form a solid, liquid, or gas. Since the boiling point of refrigerant is very low, it needs to take in a lot of thermal energy to boil, and therefore it cools down to the boiling point temperature. Hence why the water freezes when the boiling refrigerant is shot at it from below.
Well air is also a Refrigerant but just not that ideaal to use. Everything that can be compressed and that cools the enviroment when it goes back to gas is a Refrigerant.
That last one gave me chills. Beautiful.
Best thing is that the hippo just said "Alright, goodbye then" after putting so much time into chasing that boat and forcefully destroying the engine

1:50 Toyota could use it for a commercial. “A vehicle that withstands tornadoes that buildings can not”
"We're still here "
Meanwhile, Nissan is sticking hard to the time-honored "Are you overencumbered with sunglasses AGAIN?" strategy.
Favorite car commercial was a "banned BMW terrorist" commercial from back in the 00's
To be fair though, the building was in the path of the tornado, but the vehicles weren't.
Tornados are weird like that. They'll obliterate anything in their path, but the mailbox that was just 10, 15 feet away is completely fine.
The Vault-Tec Mailbox, the last thing standing in mail defence.
It wasn't the compressed air that froze that faucet, if you hold those cans sideways or upside down like in the video, it'll cause chemicals to leak out from the can and they react with water like that. They are also highly flammable.
Some brands don't use these chemicals though and aren't flammable, but also tend to cost a lot more.
2:23 If anyone is curious why this happens basically compressed air is in liquid form and when you spray it the pressure decreases so air turns into gas form again. While doing that takes energy from enviroment. And the enviroment gets cold.
Hippo was like, 'there, fixed it, hated that noise'
Imagine trying to take a nice ride in a boat when a giant hippo is suddenly faster than you

@@dr4c0bladehim red lining the engine did not help!
2:23 It's being sold as "Compressed Air" but in reality is a gas similar to what your fridge and A/C uses for cooling. That is because this gas can be compressed without putting so much pressure on the canister that it explodes. If you've ever seen a Scuba tank up close, or a compressor for that matter, you'll notice that compressed air needs quite a thick tank wall.

1:50 It's not uncommon for even town flattening tornadoes to have few casualties in the Midwest, most large buildings have built in tornado shelters (usually the bathrooms) and if the geology is permitting most homes have if not basements than purpose dug shelters. Older houses often have shelters that doubled as fallout shelters which were basically the same but just have air filters lead shielding and sealable doors.

I love those government workers. They respect the law and don't take advantage of anyone. They just don't want extra trouble on their plate lmao.
"You can't do that"
"Yes I can"
"Alright"
They don't want that specific technology being known about and being sent to a bad nation state actor. Especially China. This vehicle type isn't new, but the types of gear on it likely are state-of-the-art and possibly classified.
This is what's called an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle, or AUV for short. It appears this one has been fitted with special reconnaissance (recon) gear. They often use these to map out the sea floor, monitor wave activity, monitor currents and they probably take other sensor data that would be considered classified too. It's unknown what mission or tasking this one was associated with.
Edited for more clarification, added buzzwords as per user ( @peterhoulihan9766 ), and a better explanation.

IDK if they are even government employees, like if it was actually the government they should be doing this somewhere away from civilian eyes.
And they certainly would be capable of confiscating any films taken of their things as classified.
@@dynaorchid9982 I doubt they were government workers. Probably scientists who wanted to cover up that someone messed up.
that looks very similar to an Autonomous research vessel that I recently attended a talk about. It receives a set of instructions from a remote location, then dives down to a specified depth (and goes up and down as per its instructions) collected data using whatever bits of kit you put on it (oxygen sensors, pressure sensors, microphones to record whales talking to each other, you name it).
It's actually really interesting, if your into that sort of thing.
