@ShepherdSaint Kinda. Holding a cat by the skin behind their neck (the scruff) is called "scruffing." It mimics the way cats carry their kittens, so it calms them somewhat. It doesn't paralyze them, though, and I'm amazed this wild animal didn't put up any resistance at all!

im obsessed with this docu, the whole thing is even better. first they introduced this guy as "(some uni) science dept, expert at finding pallas cats" then he led them to a boulder, by which narrator said "we found a pallas cat" then it zoomed under a boulder to reveal a fucking pissed cat, the narrator was silent for a long moment then added "with a fierce glare". after this whole "the body is round" stuff, the cat just gave up and laid down and the narration went "he has flattened himself" 😭
