I knocked on this lady's door when I drove past and saw grass growing over the top of her 6ft privacy fence! She opened the door and I explained that I would love to clean it up for her absolutely free of charge. She didn't understand me at first as her english isn't the best and I was speaking really fast. She said she had no money to pay me and she could get her son to take care of it.
At this point I slowed down and tried to explain to her that I would do it for free. She understood me and we spoke a little bit more using google translate. This job took me 2 days and a LOT of hard work. Not only was the backyard overgrown, but the edges were pouring over the curbs and the sidewalk in the front.
I'm so glad I was able to do this job. The family was SOOO grateful. They brought me out water and sports drinks every 20 minutes. They also helped me load and unload my equipment so that I didn't have to carry it all. Needless to say, they were amazing people, so I decided to do something really special for them at the end of the video.

Spencer, I started writing this right b4 your mower tried to eat a rock, I just wanted to say that mower is awesome. Its eating up that brush on the first munch. Looks like DR stands for "DANG" RUGGED!!!
Quick question, if you take down the poison ivy with the weed eater instead of touching it with your hands how does it get on you? I've been wanting to ask you that ever since your first encounter with it where you were out of commission for a couple weeks. I'm glad she understood the word FREE, lol.
If you and the other 4 mowers i watch put a post out all at the same time I'd watch yours first. You are the best, most thorough (you actually move outside stuff to now underneath it) mower I watch. I really hope that DR mower is yours and you aren't just borrowing it. It will cut your mowing in more than half!!
OMG Spencer you made me cry when you gave her that gift!! GOD will bless you for your kindness.

@@karenmorrisette5027 as someone who is very allergic to poison ivy, the weed eater slices the plants and sends particles (and the oil) flying into the air where it can actually be inhaled. best thing for poison ivy is herbacide. let it die, then glove up and clean up.

This reminds me of my next door neighbor at my last place. Older lady always saying "no, no, no my son is coming to mow the grass" so finally I just got finished with my own yard one day and walked over and told I was going to get her yard straightened out, no charge. Was kind of awesome chopping down 2m tall weeds and finding a little fire pit and a park bench style stone seat then later seeing her out there just hanging out and making little fires in the evenings.

Anyone with half a brain realizes that in order for this man (and any other RUclips channel that donates services, products, or time - not just lawn care) has to cover his costs and feed his family first. Whether it’s a lawn care channel, a hoof trimming business or a cake decorating channel, each one hopes RUclips will help at least enough to offset some of the costs of their doing business so that they can give back far more than they could get to do said project. We don’t know if the hoof trimming business is able to take a day off hoof trimming to volunteer at a low cost vet clinic for large farm animals. We also may not know if the cake decorator chooses to donate five cakes a week to low income families instead of selling them at a profit. The difference is that some RUclips channels like SB Mowing come straight out and say what they are doing and how they’re able to do it.
So the assumption that we’re somehow ignorant to the simple responsibilities and requirements of EVERYONE’s day-to-day living in order to be in a position to give back isn’t necessary and, truthfully, is nothing short of rude.
Rather than eagerly concerning yourself with enlightening the rest of us simple folk about what’s going on behind the proverbial curtain of Oz, perhaps you ought to take a step back, give us all some credit, and give the Spencer’s of the world a pat on the back for busting their backs and equipment? Can YOU say YOU’VE done your share of giving back today?

And I have 5 acres, so to really get it cleaned up will take more than a weekend. I can mow it in 2-3 hours unless I let the grass get ridiculously tall, but the weeds that I eventually figure out are mostly maple trees, limbs that have fallen, I have at least 3 trees that are down that I have to cut up, etc all accumulates and gets overwhelming.

I can identify with that my grandfather, and father both had me help them with our burying ground and now they are both buried there and there is very little grass to cut it is so full I always look in when I go back home, and glad to see it is still kept as well, this fellow does a great job because over here in Ireland we never had heat like that but it was damp and the the midge flies would have eaten you!

Please dont put salt on your soil, it causes irreparable damage. Buy a broad leaf herbicide which selectively kills weeds but let the grass grown therefore allowing the lawn to grow without damage. Weeds flourish when there is no groundcover. Please keep some green groundcover or mulch and protect the soil. NO HOME MADE MIXTURES ARE BENEFICIAL. MORE PROBLEMS.

I’ve said it in other posts of your, and I’ll say it in this one too, first and foremost I am so amazed of what you do, what a generous and kind person you are, secondly, and to me just as important, you take the time to blow the grass off of the street and back into the yards, as a motorcycle ridder you have no idea how dangerous grass clippings are to motorcycle riders, that stuff is literally like black ice, it will take the bike out from under you in a split second. So, thank you for your kindness to your community, and thank you for your care for the motorcycle community.
