Look in the manual. It explains the drag brake. Its actually able to be controlled via the transmitter with the 4 micro switches in the center. You can set it for basher/ short course mode (fwd, brake, rev) or crawler (fwd, rev) then you set the battery type, and then can adjust the percent of drag brake you want up to 100%. The drag brake is actually awesome on it. Also, page 5 of the manual explains the “doug” portion and why the decal says butcher butch. It has a whole back story laid out that explains it in a story line that basically gets around the whole legalities with licensing. Its different, but kinda clever to go through the trouble and effort.
Entered. Also, you are correct that its basically a short wheel base 1/18th (atlas), but in actuality, the original 1940’s power wagons were pretty big in size when you see one in person. To me the atlas is actually small when you compare it to others in the 1/18 scale class. Even the cr-18 harvester which is almost identical minus the extra axle, compared to other cr-18 vehicles is small. Theyve done this to retain the same frame and keep universal parts but be able to make different bodies so people have options…..which really doesnt keep it “scale”….the new fcx24 is a bit bigger than 24, but still looks to be more on scale in 1/24 class than the atlas in 1/18 or many of the scx24 vehicles when comparing it as an actual vehicle to another actual vehicle in its same scale class. For example, put the atlas next to a rochobby firehorse. Both are considered 1/18. In reality the actual power wagon would swallow a jeep wrangler. But side by side the two rc bodies are relatively same size. Many people forget that. Kinda like a 1/10 trx-4 crawler that has a ford ranger body, but the person next to him has the same trx-4 chassis but has a f250 body. In rc world somehow these are exactly same size. Its weird common day to day knowledge but not thought about too much because its considered same scale class in the rc world.
Imagine the Atlas 6x6 with the 2 speed gearbox and the portal axles from that rig! When the parts are available I think I'm gonna try fitting them to my Atlas, but I also like the fcx24 so I'm entered! ...BTW the scammer texted me TWICE so he owes me 2 fcx24s!!!
That would be awesome to run around at my house! I could actually follow that one around in my wheelchair! Awesome! I entered the giveaway, too. Keep up the great work, Greg, and thanks for all you do!
I understand mobility issues too. That's one of the reasons I got into the hobby!! With the proper living room adjustments and nature soundtrack you could transport yourself anywhere!! The only limitation you face with this hobby is your imagination!!
Had to order one for my 4 year old son after seeing your video. Can't wait to spruce it up for him. Entered giveaway in hopes to have one to use with him. Thanks for the great content like always.
They look fun. Would like to try some crawling, this looks like a good entry point. My son and I go bashing as often as possible would be good to break it up. Thanks to FMS
Thanks for the opportunity to win one of these.. I'm entered. I enjoyed this video as I enjoy all your videos. Appreciate the fact that I learn something from every video.. And you get to see the vehicles in action... Best of both worlds.. Keep up the good work Greg!
This is an awesome looking lil rig, I definitely think its more 1/18 scale. That being said I like it more. I really dig the yellow with the red wheels, it reminds me of the 1/32 Coca-Cola trucks I had as a child.
Thanks for the great review Greg. Your the only video I watched so far that showed that you can fill the shocks with oil. I entered the giveaway, very cool of you!
It looks fun to drive!! I can't believe it survived the water too, makes me feel better about bringing it out during damp weather :) I entered the giveaway, thanks for the chance!
Entered in and appreciate the talk about clearance and trans dif. I'm more used to low level buggies and these certainly opens a lot of doors to new terrain.
Greg I've entered and subscribed to the FMS channel. Also gave you/the channel a good plug too. As always many thanks for the effort and you enthusiasm for RC. Its certainly motivated me in RC. My family too. Again thanks!!! Cheers!!!
I’m surprised how little aftermarket support and how there is no local parts supply for FMS. I own four of their rigs. They all perform excellent straight out of the box and have had nothing break. This kind of negates the need for parts support, it just doesn’t sit well with me looking towards long term ownership
Love your videos! Helped me get into RC! Been into it for 2 years now! I entered the giveaway! Such a cool truck. If I were to win it would be my first crawler.
Awesome crawler! So great to see a 2 speed box! Portals look great... Give the brands with monopoly a run for their money FMS... Have entered the comp, thanks for the opportunity Would look fantastic on my micro crawler course here in South Africa 🙂
I entered the contest! Love you videos. Thanks for sharing your insights and wisdom! Dad joke alert: A man was following me around earlier today with an rc remote control. Think he was toying with me.
Entry is in. I am pretty intrigued by the ingenuity and different approach that FMS is making. The rig does look a little tall, wonder how it would do to bring it down a bit!
Thanks Greg for another great video! I especially liked the size comparison to their 6x6 model. I know it doesn't come with an interior but I would totally put one in! Just entered the give away also thank you for such awesome content! cheers!
I love seeing you getting your kids into the action! My boys and I have a blast driving together and because of your awesome reviews, we are also planning to build our first Tamiya kit this summer. Thanks for all the great content and maybe we’ll run into you when you visit Maine again! Oh, and before I forget, we entered the contest😀🙏🏼
Nice, I'm entered. A two-speed transmission is something I've been looking for in a 1/24th scale for a while. For now I've just been using two trucks with different ratios 😋.
Entered and ready to win! Haha! I think it’s funny that FMS is trying to pass their FCX24 as a 1/24! Thanks for the great, honest, reviews! Keep up the great vids!
Just entered your giveaway! My 6yo is starting to get pretty good with his ecx temper and I think it's time for him to upgrade! Great video and great review! Contest aside, you've got a new subscriber
I entered! I think they are pretty cool looking little truck and I would love to see that 2 speed in action. I would also love to weather one up really nicely and give it that old and beaten work truck look! Thanks to you and FMS for doing the giveaway!!!
Ok all that other stuff is done. Now Greg... I was waiting to see these little guys climb "The Rock"!!! Maybe next time you and your son take them out you can video them on that big rock. These would be great for folks wanting to get into crawling. With the small scale, you can have the do it yourself crawler track in the yard, garage, living room, basically anywhere you have the space. The only limit would be your imagination!! Would love to see a mini course for these guys all set up. As usual, great vid and keep them coming!!
I'm late to the table, picked it up today, a long w other gifts goodies, I got the portal covers but.... But but but also got metal portal gears !!!! It was good to wait, for once
I have the fms atlas, k10 and hilux...I ordered one of these yesterday. The 2 speed trans sold me. These trucks all run 25-30 minutes on a charge, look great and are great for mild trail driving. We take ours to the beach, they tackle the sand amazingly well. I'm thinking the higher wheel speed of the fcx24 should do even better. I plan to make a wooden bed, as that plastic roll cage is the only thing I didn't like. Fms was smart not to just make a version of the scx24...between the portals, 2 speed and funky scale, it doesn't directly compare to the scx24. But unlike current fms models, it has more upgrade and tuning potential. I'm even already wondering if that 2 speed gearbox could be adapted to my atlas.
entered! re: drag brake.. from the reviews i've seen, you're able to set the drag brake using the dip switches on the transmitter. might wanna give that a try.
Question…. I own an old Losi micro trekker and the battery went flat. Just wondering if I cut the battery leads and use rechargeable double A or aaa. Will it work?
i entered the giveaway! your videos honestly inspired me to go for the mogrich 1:18 and i convinced a buddy to join my 2 day old, 1 man, rc trailblazing club. looking for ideas on how to craft my own flatbed out of popsicle sticks for the mogrich. mostly cant figure out how to securely mount the wood bed to the chassis
I'm entered! I agree, calling this a 1/24 is a stretch. How does an SCX24 look next to it? I wonder if the transmission would fit their other cars? My color preference is the yellow one. Would have been nice to see an interior. I still want to see them make 1/10 scale, can you imagine what they could do with all that extra space?

I'm digging the old 40-50's bodies on these, my favorite years for trucks.
Got all ready for the giveaway this two speed transmission is a game changer
That box art is giving me old school Tamiya vibes. Nice.
Those scams are no joke! I was a victim on rc girls channel and got screwed out of $180! I’m a fucking gullible idiot!
@@ChrisGorman87 don't call yourself an idiot man : it's easy to fall for these scams that's why they warn us now.
I and my grandchildren would love this. What a fun way to spend an afternoon with them!
Sounds like a great little rig! Love the option for oil in the shocks.
Giveaway Entered! Thanks for this video though! My friends and I just discovered this new crawler and we've been talking about it non-stop all day!
I entered… oil shocks are a great option. It looked like a great place to go for a trail crawl. Awesome scenery!
Appreciate the opportunity! Can’t wait to see one of the bad boys on the back of my TRx4 1/10th scale flatbed! Liked, filled out app as well!
Im entered! Hope I win lol. Those things look super cool and super capable! You should compare the size to an SXC24 so we can kinda size it up.
Thanks for the tip on the oil shock. I guess your son proved the snorkel works as well.😅Definitely signed up for the giveaway. Thanks!
I entered. Thanks for the reviews you have done on so many different RCs. They are helpful and also fun to just watch
a very clear review, yes even though it's small but it's very extraordinary...
Say hi from indonesia
They look fun. Would like to try some crawling, this looks like a good entry point. My son and I go bashing as often as possible would be good to break it up. Thanks to FMS
The FCX24 is probably the best 18th scale crawler. Signed up.
I entered the contest! So excited for this! Never had a crawler before, I think it is time...looks like so much fun! And upgradable!
Just entered! Super excited for this new RC! I’m fairly new but have been loving my SCX24 and FMS LC80!
Thanks for the great review Greg. Your the only video I watched so far that showed that you can fill the shocks with oil. I entered the giveaway, very cool of you!
I need one for the 4 corners micro championship next month. Thanks for sharing this.
Looks like a neat little truck, But I agree looks a lot bigger than 1/24,
It looks fun to drive!! I can't believe it survived the water too, makes me feel better about bringing it out during damp weather :)
I entered the giveaway, thanks for the chance!
Entry submitted. Definitely agree with you on hoping FMS brings out a 1:10 scale in the near future. Their scale detail is top notch!
There's a 1/10 out now
They look great in my opinion. Never have much luck with giveaways, but I entered.
Thank you for your great content.
Entered in and appreciate the talk about clearance and trans dif. I'm more used to low level buggies and these certainly opens a lot of doors to new terrain.
Entered the giveaway! Always great to hear your feedback/reviews on products.
I’ve entered! Really like that blue one. I’m impressed with the ability to add oil with the extra parts. Really cool!
Greg
I've entered and subscribed to the FMS channel. Also gave you/the channel a good plug too. As always many thanks for the effort and you enthusiasm for RC. Its certainly motivated me in RC. My family too. Again thanks!!!
Cheers!!!
Entry in. Gotta love a Doug power wagon, lol
Looks like an awesome little rig. I'm pretty sure you can set the drag brake on the controller, like most other fms rigs.
Entry process done. 😁
I entered. Always love seeing channels giving back to the community.
Entered, eying these up, I think a rim and tire change would look good.
These look amazing. Hopefully they will get some aftermarket support
I’m surprised how little aftermarket support and how there is no local parts supply for FMS. I own four of their rigs. They all perform excellent straight out of the box and have had nothing break. Good video! Definitely thinking about getting one!
I'm entered. Would love to see FMS start offering true 1/10 scale, personally my favorite scale.
Entered! These seem like a cool little rig!
Pretty cool, two speed trans in a 1/24. Entered in the contest

Definitely bigger than the scx24’s. But still looks like hella fun!
