Really no need to apologise Adam cos at the end of the day we are all in this together 👍🏻. I’ve only been into the rc crawling scene for about 3 yrs now and have found that the rc community has to be the best community to be in. I have learned so much from people and that they are there to help no questions asked. At the end of the day your the one doing us the favour by making, editing and posting these videos so it should be us thanking you 🙏🏻🙏🏻 cos people dont really understand how much time it takes to sort it all out and are also too quick to jump down someone’s throat if they do make a mistake. So i would like to take this opportunity to say a massive Thanks a lot from everyone who watches your channel and again think its the best channel by far on RUclips 🙏🏻👍🏻🤙🏻❤️. P.s. i got the Comp tyres from Injora and they are massive and now know what you mean about them not looking right on your rig 🤔🤔. FCX24 looks a thousand times better with the mods you have done Bud 👍🏻🤙🏻😍
@@CapeCrawlers i havent yet, i only installed one of them onto a rim to see what they look like, i really dont think my C10 will suit them but will have to try all four to see and take them out and put them to the test 👍🏻🤞🏻. I also bought some Boom Racing Max Grappler for the SCX24 and they feel crazy sticky. Had a bit of a problem installing one onto my wheel because the centre hole is tiny and you have to really stretch them to get it fit, makes getting it to sit correctly on the rim a nightmare and was wrestling with it for nearly 30 mins 😢😩😂. Looks like the FCX24 is way more capable with the mods you have done and i really like how it looks. I was stuck on wether or not to get one but after seeing your video i’m really keen on buying it, i just hope i get the metal portal gear version thats all. 🤙🏻👍🏻
That thing is pretty cool! I like what you have done to it. Seems like it's just a blast to run around. Thanks for another great video Adam, take care!!!
No need to apologize dude, we're all learning together. You're just one of the ones brave enough to learn in such a public way. I might have to buy some swamp kings now... :D
That was impressive Adam. Thank you for doing that rig Justis. I have the Atlas 6x6 and it has impressed me immensely. I have just ordered an FCX24 and look forward to putting it through the mill on my rock 'cause.
I hear you. I broke 2 portal gear carriers day one and the headlight wire later on and still love the truck. My yellow one has steel 1" wheels and Scrambler tires, patina, a homemade utility bed, extended wheelbase, and custom stickers. Great advice you give to have the forward/freewheel/brake/reverse set when in high gear, and forward/drag brake/reverse when crawling. It could be the difference between being able to play with it again or not. Same with the drag brake. It's has absolutely no use in high. It won't hold on a hill, but if you are going fast it could throw you for a loop. In low it's a drag brake, in high it's like slamming the break. I doubt anyone ever stripped a plastic gear on this but the carrier is prone to ream out the slot because of the shallow design.
Thanks for all this fantastic and informative insight... I really appreciate it. I've been in R/C for decades (mostly on-road racing) and have been bitten by the crawling bug, big time!! Have one of these on the way (blue as well) and hope to follow along with the FCX journey you (and your son now!!) are on. Thanks for the quality content and keep it comin' brother, God bless!
Nice response video. I never thought I'd be into 1/24 crawlers, but this little truck is so much fun! My Treal stuff gets here tomorrow, and I have to unbox the "Limited Edition" truck that just came. That one's going to be my bling truck.
Great video per usual! Thank you for sharing. Plus 1 on the body being a pain to remove... Those dang four tabs are surprisingly tough (for me, at least) to disengage and no doubt the more the body comes off and on, the shorter the life those plastic tabs have.
Nice one Adam, I know it's hard to resist rushing into unboxings lol but it proves we are human and still enthusiasts. And we are capable of finding stuff out ourselves too. Glad you got a metal geared version - on the new box it also states it has bearings, dunno if the initial versions had bushes. Treal are so on point. Got pretty much the same upgrades coming as you. Looking forward to next chapter. Andrew
I appreciate that! I think with some minor modifications the fcx24 could be a very formidable crawler. Sorting out the chassis to best utilize that awesome power train is going to be a fun and rewarding project!
Great vid brother!!! I like mine alot, especially after doing some mods. Mine has gone through the Treal treatment. The best mode for me has been the brass outer portal covers, helps with that heavy body.👍👍👍
Thanks! I am working on installing the treal upgrades as we speak! Did you do the portal covers on all four corners? I did just the front for now. Excited to get them in and try it!
@@CapeCrawlers YEA I did all 4 corners. Since I found the front to be heavy. Adding them to the back made it less prone to flip forward on decent. Check out my last vid I did with the portal covers.

Matt puts out amazingly detailed content. His experience and knowledge oozes out of every minute of his videos. I agree that with minor mods, the fcx24 will be a weapon!
good day. is it worth adding extended rcawd +35mm rear rods to this truck assembly? or is it possible to stay on a short database with these improvements?

@@trailwomanrc it looks great and looks like it performs as good as it looks! Off topic, I see the location is in Nova Scotia. I grew up in northern Maine and we used to take the ferry over to Nova Scotia on the weekends. Beautiful location!
Any 1.0 wheel should accept the swamp kings. No adapter necessary for most wheels on the FCX24, although some, like the RC4WD wheels, have a smaller diameter hole in the hub and will need to be drilled out. All other wheels I have put on the FCX fit just fine.
I tried to rotate my esc but it was stuck. jk. My eyesight is not great, is it screwed on, glued on, or double sided taped on? They sent me metal gears but I can't use them until I get the new axle set which may or may not have metal gears. I glued the plastic gears to the axles, stripped and not, and glued the portal covers on because they would not cinch up. None has failed so far.
The esc is double sided taped on like the scx24’s. I had a couple bolts on my front portals that wouldn’t tighten all the way either, but thankfully they cinched enough to make a good seal
Have you looked into the mque or Mcue links. I hear the treal links are just flat. Where the other ones are higher clearance of course you can see them on matt’s channel. 2fmrc \
It is definitely a direct shot at the scx24, and there are certainly some lower quality parts, but this type of competition is good for us as consumers. I think it will force axial to raise their game!
@@justanothercitizen3024 man you have good eyes. When I drilled new holes for the shock mount, I made them too big. The shock, that shock specifically, would work its way out and separate from the frame. I had to put a nut on the back of it to hold it in place.
