    I have one of each scx24 versions. They are all actually very different. The c10 has smaller diameter tires, but tends to have more grip on smoother inclines. The con is it has a lot of tire rub out of the box. The Jeep is probably the most well rounded and predictable out of the box, sharing the same chassis (suspension links) setup as the c10, but with the larger tires. The deadbolt can be had for $89.99 right now at most hobby shops, and is by far the most capable out of the box, but it suffers from being slightly front heavy, which can make it unpredictable. This is due to the suspension link layout. The deadbolt has shorter front links, and longer rear links than the Jeep and C10. Over all, all three can be a blast. If you can buy one of each, you should. If not, I recommend the Jeep for best overall. Also, I have never seen a 2 hour charge time. Most I have seen is 45 minutes with the cheap included usb charger, and 56 minutes with my dynamite passport p1 mini doing a full balance charge at .3amp.

    I'm new to crawling, and loved that the SCX24 comes with everything you need right out of the box, including transmitter batteries and at least some charge on the main battery. I drove it around for a good while right out of the box. I have had issues with tire rub when doing wheel upgrades or longer axles, but a cheap fix is to stretch the shock springs to about double, which also makes it not so bouncy.
    I also love being able to customize things, so that makes the SCX24 a clear winner in my book.

    I have a mini z. For me scale looks matter the most and the details the bodies have are on another level.
    Right now there are some upgrades and mods for the mini z like new electronics, a brushless motor, and other weight stuff. The good thing about these mods is that they allow the use of lipo batteries cuz of the change of the esc. I haven't been able to run mine yet cuz I'm waiting for new shipment of parts :) .

    it was a close choice of scx24 and tetra for my first micro crawler. the failure of modulation and aftermarket support made the scx decision an easy one. just wish axial come up with an oil shock to install as a hop up.
    Wish manufacturers would realise bells and whistles don't appeal to enthusiasts buying these and drop LEDs for performance upgrades....

    Best bang for your buck, SCX24 hands down. Its large wheels already makes it a winner. With added fishing weights, it's cheap to make it very capable.
    The Kyosho may be the most expensive of all but it's got the most detailed and scaled body and its electronics has the highest quality of the lot. Plus, there are a LOT of upgrade parts for the Kyosho. The motor is easy to remove and it comes with many gears. It's like it's asking you to mod it. Of course, you'll need deep pockets.
    The RGT, I mean the Enduro :p, is the cheapest but it's only 1S.
    The Tetra's lights, extra battery and oils shocks are really attractive but it just doesn't perform as good as it should.

    Okay, explain to me in what universe AA batteries are a con? they are available everywhere, cheap, eneloops can be recharged over 1000 times, and high amp models rechargeable AA's can still be recharged more than these other trucks batteries, AND these batteries can be used for things other than just your toy truck. Their are some performance issues with nicd vs lithium, but you don't talk about lack of power from the miniz, and you can get lithium AA's and still be cheaper and more useful than specialized batteries.

    I went with the Kyosho Mini-Z, I love Axial and have a heavily modified SCX10 but the scale looks of the Mini-Z won me over, it looks really cool with the LED light kit. I just wanted something I could pick up at any time and drive around my room. I actually prefer the AAA batteries since I have a bunch of Eneloops to use and I don't have to worry about maintenance or any issues on the Lipos (like storage charge, over-discharge, puffing).

    I am thinking about getting either the c10 or the deadbolt, which one is better on rock and inclines. (Not planning on adding any mods)

    • @AMain_Hobbies
      @AMain_Hobbies  3 года назад

      The C10 is a little longer which helps with inclines, where a shorter chassis is better with turns and maneuvering. Neither truck is better and you probably wouldn't notice the length difference unless you drive a lot. I recommend picking the truck you like looking at best.

    Got the deadbolt a few weeks ago and I'm having problems with it running backwards on the most powerfull setting now its starting on the middle power setting and that could be simple to solve if it had a trim on the remote... I'm a bit disappointed with this situation as it might gonna have to go back to warranty...

    • @AMain_Hobbies
      @AMain_Hobbies  4 года назад

      It runs backwards when you set the throttle switch on the transmitter to "H"? That's odd. That switch really only changes the throttle trim/deadband, so somehow it's trimming too far into reverse territory. Wonder if you can set the switch to M and re-calibrate the ESC. That should reset it. Let me know what you do.
