Thank you for the interesting video, I didn't know about the first stamps and the copyright issue. I really love Christmas stamps myself. Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to you.
As a collector of Christmas stamps, I really appreciate this video. This was probably what inspired Canada to also produce a set of Christmas stamps designed by children in 1970.
Thanks for this video Richard and Merry Christmas! I love Christmas stamps although I don't collect them specifically! (.... Yet lol). Very interesting to learn about the copyright controversy with those stamps. Have a great holiday!
So interesting! I guess you are correct, its a win-win for the public and for the postal service (and philately). I never thought of it like that. Thank you for this video, Richard 😊. Merry Christmas 🎄
I do not know if you have ever discussed that the UK is the only country that I know of that is not required to have the name of the country on the stamps. @@RichardPhilatelist
Richard greetings, great video. I think we should use more children's drawings on postage stamps and postcards. after all, this is more of a children's holiday.
I have never been a fan of childrens paintings, my parents always threw mine away, even as a nine year old in 1966 I thought the stamps were just second rate paintings. I know others did like them. I much prefer the children and young peoples stamps of Christmas 1981 I think the collage of Jesus Christ and the painting of Mary and Joseph approaching Bethlehem are good by any standard, nad the stamps of the younger children have a vigour and liveliness.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. 😊 I agree with you; the paintings on the two stamps you mentioned are indeed of higher quality, created by 14-16-year-old children. However, I also believe it's reasonable to include some paintings by younger kids with more vigor.
Thanks for the interesting history, Richard. I agree, children's art are perfect for Christmas stamps. Merry Christmas!
Thank you and Merry Christmas.

@@RichardPhilatelist do you sell Richard Philatelist tee shirts?
@@philipdove6987 Sorry, I don't. I just ordered one for myself, and it's not a big channel, so there aren't many requests for T-shirts.
I’d buy one ❤
Really enjoy your channel
