I love how you can remember where each stamp came from and who gave it to you. I got my first ‘kick-start’ in philately from a neighbour who gave me a shoebox of worldwide stamps when I was about 12.
After watching this...I would be WAYYY too embarrassed to show my childhood collection, mine is a total mess 😅. I loved this episode, Richard, thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much for sharing your childhood stamp collections and the wonderful memories 🙏🏻 Would have liked a longer look at your aunt’s collection, though 😉 Eddy and I collect Chinese stamps and covers, focussing on those with ancient Chinese artefacts. Wishing you a happy Year of the Dragon 🐉🧧
Beautiful story .... agreed, those were the days ... I miss receiving mails from relatives overseas too, but then again thanks to online mediums I still have been able to grow my collecting to a level otherwise not possible.
Richard I looove this episode it was so fun to see your collection and hear about their history in relation to your life! Like where you got it or as gifts from friends or your mum. Your monkey stamps are so nice. What a beautiful collection! Does your family watch your channel? Thanks so much for sharing!
I enjoyed this video very much, Richard. As usually it is very well scripted and clear. You had beautiful and exceptionally neat childhood collections. Those stock books themselves are very nice as well. The memories with the stamps are priceless. I don't know if I should know: but do you still collect Chinese stamps? I would have thought that collection is a very good collection.
I love this video! Listening to each little stories that came with the stamps in your childhood collection was very enjoyable. Thank you for sharing your early memories of collecting stamps!
