Have you ever heard of a Colt 22 ACE? This gun was designed to look and feel exactly like a Colt 1911 45 ACP military issue but shoot .22 Long Rifle ammunition instead for military training exercises.
In this video we put this old gun (Manufactured in 1931 the first year they started production) through the paces to see how it shoots at various distances. We shot 40 grain CCI Mini Mags this particular day.

That's nice find. I'm going to quit buying cheap 22. CCI is the cleanest, best way to go.
I really like CCI minimags and federal auto match .22 LR.
how much more does the recoil feel than say a normal 22 pistol? the floating chamber in the colt ace allows for a heavier slide so it feels a little closer to the 45 supposedly but seemed pretty flat shooting in your hands
It hardly kicks at all. Very light recoil……..a flat shooter.
