I looked at all of these pedals awhile back. The Strymon and Eventide stuff is too expensive for what I do. Even the Meris 7 was too pricey. Boss RV6 was in the ballpark as far as price goes. But I chose the Neunaber Immerse Mk.II pedal. Got it on a Cyber-Monday sale for a very good price. Totally happy with it. Lots of people compare it to the Strymon stuff in terms of sound quality. Yeah, you can just go spend $500 on a BigSky... but it's nice to find a high-quality cheaper alternative. The Cloudburst was not available when I bought my Immerse, but I would still choose the Immerse over the Cloudburst.
On the affordable side, you cannot go wrong with either or both of the JHS 3-Series reverbs. They sound incredible! On the weirder side but also more expensive, the death by audio rooms, chase bliss/meris cxm1978, and vongon ultra sheer are all insanely great pedals with really unique and beautiful sounds
never owned a dedicated reverb pedal...but got the Cloud Burst after Anderton's (and others) review. Love this thing.... Now I have to learn more tunes that required ambient tones...
Neunaber wet reverb expanse with the controller a wonderful verb but could be used for other effects but the controller has a morph switch and it get so amazing if you haven’t checked it out you really should. Also the chase bliss mood gotta say. It does everything I like on the h9 especially the black hole. Plus has a looper play back that you can change on the fly been my go to this year.
Yeah dude, the Boss Reverb is a workhorse. Love the fact that will work with almost any power supply unlike other Reverbs that consume more power. The cloudburst is just insane! You can’t get any bad tones with it. I would also throw the Walrus Fathom and Lore.
I have the Neunuber Immerse 2..It's well renowned for being one of the best sounding stereo reverbs..It has great algorithms including shimmer,Plate,Hall, Spring...The decay times can get very long Ideal for worship or ambient...
Thank you very much, I didn't know which one to buy I like, those that have many options, I like the EHX Oceans 12, what do you think about it...? But the one you made me notice is the Walrus R1.
Dr. Z has a dedicated reverb tank unit that is on par with the 60’s Fender reverb units. For pedals I’d check out the VansAmp sole-mate, right around three hundred.
Do you think presets are needed in a delay pedal for worship? I see you have a Timeline on your board. I've been looking at delay pedals and am trying to decide whether to spend the extra $100 - $200 needed for the presets or if I can get by just fine with a pedal that has tap tempo. I could see presets as an advantage if you have a quick turnaround between songs or if you want to switch delay times mid-song.
I would personally very much recommend having presets for worship. I’ve played sets where one some has a dotted eighth at one bpm with a long tail of repeats and then quickly have to switch to the next song that needs quarter note delays with a single repeat. It’s really hard to do that quickly without presets
Yea I agree with Christian. I have used the Timeline for a long time and I really like being able to program the bpms in for each song. I think it is worth spending extra on a delay that has the ability to save bpms for each song. I have other delays that just have tap and it always seems to get off from the click when I try to tap in dotted 8th parts. The Timeline is great but I only use a few sounds in it. I really like the dual and tape settings in it. If you don't want to spend that much though I believe you can save presets/bpms in the Boss DD20 and DD200.
One thing I will add in this demo though, the Strymon timeline is being used that is probably really enhancing the reverbs a bit....just keep that in mind...you are hearing a dual Strymon delay which alone sounds amazing....

Yea I agree - seems like the Immerse gives you a lot of options for the price. I need to try one out. I'm still using the RV-5 right now.
Thank you for this video. I'm looking for my first reverb bedal and this video really help's me.
If I were to choose a reverb pedal, it would be the Source Audio Ventris dual reverb. If only I didn't have an HX Stomp.

I've been wanting to try out one of the JHS 3 Series pedals.
I love my merris mercury7 reverb❤
Everyone always overlooks Empress Reverb for worship! Very informative though
I haven’t played that one but I have heard it’s great. I have played the ECHOSYSTEM and it is awesome.
Strymon Cloudburst will dominate this category for sure
From what I have heard it sounds great. I definitely want to try it out.

Wait till you hear Revelation V2 by Jet pedals

I just got the Cloudburst and it sounds so good. I’ll definitely be doing a separate video on it.
Just bought a Neunaber Immerse and love the sound. Gets close to the Strymons with a form factor similar to the RV-6
I've never had a chance to try any of the Neunaber stuff but I love the form factor for sure.

Opinions on more affordable EHX Cathedral pedal?
I have revelation v2. It's fantastic. Nice video.
Thanks!
Thats a perfect pedal
Have you tried the flamma reverb?
Wait till you hear Revelation V2 by Jet pedals
I really want to try it!
God told me to get the Strymon Cloudburst. He said everything else is inadequate to His purposes.
😂 Nothing else will do.
