did i see an iFixit puck in use during stripdown? could probably get a 3D printed replacement mount with the correct tapped hole made.

Works wonders and if you have a dual pc setup with rgbs, just turn all your rgb lights to white :)

From your comparison of the Elgato and Dazzne color accuracy, without a CRI meter, it looks like Elgato is playing one of the common tricks in the lighting industry. If you look at most of the color palette, they all look fairly similar between the two panels. The biggest difference is the dark red square, referred to as R9. The accuracy of R9 is weighted when calculating the overall CRI of a lighting fixture, and Elgato appears to have tuned their LED sources to favor R9. Dazzne isn't, which is why their red doesn't look as vibrant.
Given that, I do doubt the accuracy of Dazzne's 96 CRI claim, if the Elgato is actually 95+ (as they claim). It'd be interesting to see them actually tested in a controlled lab setup.

I bought this from your link you made this and just wanted to tell you, this with the Manfrotto 122B backlight adjustable pole and Superclamp work great to have an adjustable desk mounted light, like the Elgato. Using it now with my video setup. Very happy, after months of just using it with the included stand. Thanks for the videos and product research.
I owned the Elgato lights for about a year. Constant network problems disconnecting and reconnecting to my 2.4 gHz network was the frustrating part that forced me to look elsewhere. I watched someone with these Dazzne lights, and ordered them. They have no such issues with Wifi, unlike the Elgatos. Now they are my primary lights, and the Elgato's sit in the Dazzne duffle bag, waiting for an excuse to use them. They were extremely frustrating, sometimes having to fully reset the Elgatos 6-8 times per day, just to control them. I'm glad I found these because they can be remote controlled or directly on the panel.

I use some clamp on desk lamps and Wi-Fi light bulbs for the lighting on my stream setup. Definitely not the most professional or best solution, but for under $50 it's worked well enough for me. Can customize the lights thru the phone app or thru my Alexa.
Made my own with homemade boxes, led strips from ebay and plexiglass spraypainted white, works like a charm🤘
That's pretty awesome. I suddenly realized while watching this that you could totally just buy 3 of those cheap Govee LED strips for the price of the 2 light kit & have app control & even voice control of your lighting if you did it right. The only issue there being that they're not RGBW so you'd get a bit of that blue tinge when set to white. My setup is literally just a $15 (pre-COVID pricing) set of gooseneck lights with a set of Fovitec product lights & a $10 camera flash diffuser strapped to one.

That "Frostet Glass" you described is what does the magic here. Thats key for distributing the light evenly from the edges. A littlebit like a fiber optik but for a plane surface. Every LCD Display has such a layer aswell. So if you have a broken LCD, you can DIY a great Keylight out of it by removing the LCD, putting more LED's around the edges and leaving that particular layer in :)

I use super color accurate 30x40cm led panels + some really cheap RGB fill lights + Aputure M9 with color filters :) Will make a video about how I light my videos soon :)

Depends what's buzzing... If it's his audio that's buzzing, because of the power supply, then moving the power supply, or using a BuzzOff device inline somewhere, might help...
It’s an issue with the remote itself , I have this same set of lights just under a different brand name that I am currently reviewing for my channel and it has the EXACT remote and mine does the same thing as yours with 3 different batteries.
These look good value, but the one thing I need, and you you mentioned it in the video, is the ability to mount a light to my desk(s) as I just can't fit a tripod light stand in. Are there any 3rd party desk mounts (perhaps meant for other uses) that you could rig up with these? Otherwise I'll just have to save for an Elgato light.
I picked the desk clamp versions of these. They’re not that tall, but I modded one of the arms with the tripod stand from a cheapo ring light I had. Dazzne should actually sell them the way I modded it. They get up to 54” of height.

Yes you can control the lights and turn them on and Off from the remote control.
Let me ask you...
If you combine the way this is made and the DIY cakepan light.
It would seem one could take either a old lcd tv frame, utilize the aluminum? inside as well as the diffuser paper a lcd usually has inside, add a acrylic and leds of choice, and possibly have a decent light?
Alternatively take a metal picture frame and cakepan and do the same thing.
The only thing would be taking hours on end to drill the holes into the acrylic.
That seem feasible to you? Granted you won’t have the control board with this make unless they have smart led’s that can be purchased that utilize an app or something.
PS, since leaving my first comment, you led me on a hour long rabbit hole looking up the cakepan diy’s lol.

I've been using a pair of D50's since 2019 with no major complaints. A few months after I got them, the power supply on one of them randomly stopped working, but they replaced it for me. Also, every few months, one or both of the lights will randomly turn on at 100% brightness (ouch), and I'm not sure how/why.. But that's a minor inconvenience that happens very rarely.

If that other mount standard is so important to you (which I see the benefits of), you could probably 3d print a mount that screws into the same 4 holes as your current mount.
True, though I don't have a 3D printer and don't have any useful experience 3D modeling
I hate the mounts on most lighting. The 1/4 20 just feels better and you have a lot easier control of the angle. There are $5 adapters for light stand mount to tripod, but you're still stuck with that bulky tilt and knob.
The mount looks like it could adapt to 1/4-20 with any generic shock mount adapter. What do you think about this as a solution?

Look up a Matthews Magic Arm
Any magic arm or articulating arm or even a clamped flexible arm if it's light enough. I put YN360s on flex arms and it works nicely.
I currently use 2 giant neewer CFL-based softboxes, but they are somewhat inconvenient due to size and my lack of space. How do you think these light panels would compare to the softboxes in terms of diffusion? I'm looking for something rather soft but more easy to set up and put away. Thanks!
I think I'm going with the Elgato anyway. It looks to be better build quality in general, and since they have their multi mounts now, seems to be more versatile in potential use cases.
Cant you just use a 1/4 20 to Mic stand thread adaptor insert with the light so that you can use them with magic clamps? If not, I am betting I could make a 3D printed adapter.

Could anyone explain the major need/benefits of two lights over just one? Obviously I understand providing flexibility in customizing your lights/shadows, but would one be sufficient if say you were going for a more dramatic feel?

I recently bought a 2 pack of the Viltrox LED panel lights for $135. Not only did they come with stands but also a remote control was included with the price. Not only does the included controller control the brightness and contrast of the lights, but it will also turn the lights on and off. I suggest checking these lights out on amazon.
As someone who has his desk pushed against a wall. I need something that can clamp on my desk. I’d be interested in options for that. I’ve had trouble looking on B & H photo for pieces so that I could clamp these types of lights to my desk.
I have yet to find any! Frustrating. Elgato is supposed to EVENTUALLY sell them standalone, I think, but they've been dragging their feet on it.
Somewhat helpful review, but definitely missing the key factor of a review, which is showing us how it looks in an actual lighted scene, turning it off so we can see the difference, and comparing it with your other LED panels in the same way (like how the DSLR Video Shooter reviews videos.) Thanks for the review.
I had a whole scene set up with a color chart and everything where I compare it to other lights…
@@EposVox I forgot about the small scene comparison, you're right, that was helpful to see the color cast. I just meant having it set up like you are doing a vlog, and turning it off/on in various configurations so we can compare. Sorry if I came off as rude.

I bought those lights and when using them my iphone xs footage is flickering.... how can I stop it? or fix it?
Hi, i don't have an Phone xs. But lights flicker at a certain rate/fps. Try changing your shutter speed or fps you are filming in. Don't know what your settings are etc. Try FiLMiC pro for your iphone. It gives you tons of features/settings to change what i mentioned above (if you don't have settings like that). Hope this helps some :) (edit because i cant write proper sentences)
Any word on the shortage of the keylight? Figured they were updating the stand and maybe adding the Corsair branding?
Nah they just run out of stock a lot. The light was announced/sold quite a bit after the Corsair buy.

But with the elgato keylight you can run it tought your desktop app and start / shutdown them super quick. It's hard with other lights, the remote doesn't look well :/

Lol, in Australia these lights are almost $900 for the set. The remote is almost $200. It's cheaper getting two of the Elgato key lights. I love living in Australia.

Here we are a year later and this exact dazzne light setup is $199 USD. While the Elgato is $186 USD. Seems they took their affordable quantity and ran with it. Scummy move from an inferior Elgato Key Light

I just clicked the 2 pack link and it’s over $600... these don’t seem cheap at all.
Honestly, the best part of the elgato keylight is the stand, you can find good competitive lights pretty easy on amazon, but a stand you can mount to your desk that saves you a ton of space and can lift around 1.5 kilos is really hard to come by and almost cost as much as a elgato keylight itself if you want other brands.

Americans should NEVER complain about the price of things which you get for at least a third to half price of the same item in our countries ie Elgato Key Light nearly $400 in Australia or say Ford Raptor starting at $140k guys nod your head pay the money and enjoy instead..
A cheap 5/8" stud with 1/4" thread will allow you to mount this light on a clamp or anything else.
When you buy an elgato key light, you are paying for precise electronic controls (via software) and synergy with the elgato stream deck. You are NOT paying for just the light panel itself or its mount.
Yes. The same "precise" control this and every other light gives on the actual light, and you can't use it WITHOUT software. Which is objectively problematic

I'm sorry but this is not a "Elgato Key Light KILLER?" why would you clickbait with this title so much. What does it bring to compare regular leds to a gaming setup geared for streamers and creators working on the PC. The Elgato keylight has clamps for your desk, it can be turned on and off via pc with 1 click. I finally tought when reading your title that another company has made something similar but cheaper.
Most of the stream deck integration stuff is a gimmick and not useful to streamers (aside from literally a power button) - no one is changing color temperatures on the fly. The stands are super nice but literally no one else sells them.
As I explained thoroughly in the video, the price-value difference here is immense and well worth the inconvenience of having to manually turn them on. It's the closest competitor I've found and I've received numerous requests to cover competitors/alternatives. Nothing about this title is clickbait.
@@EposVox Thanks for your reply. Problem is they are just not alternatives, they are led lights like any other. When I'm recording a tutorial in my studio I want to be set up and ready within minutes. Also the bulky light stands are a no go. Why doesn't any other company make things like those overpriced elgato key lights? The only downside I see on the elgatos is the lack of a physical power switch and also the power cable should be possible to be hidden inside the stand :)

@@EposVox Yes, but there's a difference between a product being physically assembled there and a product being fully developed using stolen intelligence. By purchasing the Key Light, Elgato is rewarded for it their hard work.
LMFAO WHAT?! Elgato didn't invent the edge-lit LED light concept. It existed long before them and this very product is likely older than the Key Light.

You should probably look into all the Harvard professors who were arrested earlier this year and China's "Thousand Talents Program". Then think twice about shilling for a company that probably won't honor warranty. Btw, your links direct people to a different branded product. What a great way to avoid having to honor warranty eh? Change the company name every six months.

I literally showed the product page in the video... There's nothing clickbait about it - that's how much the lights cost. It's possible you're in another region where there's higher costs due to importing (a common problem for Canadians) but clicking the US links right now before replying they still show the *exact same pricing I showed in the video* .
