The Glock 19x is arguable the best Glock ever made. In my opinion it is. The Glock 45 is a very close second. I own both the 19x and the 45. They are the best Glocks made.

Why do you think the 19X is better? I don't need desert tan, a lanyard loop, or front groves. So 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

If you've ever jumped into a patrol vehicle and slammed the end of your holster onto the seat-belt adapter, you'll understand why the slightly shorter slide and barrel length while giving you a full size grip is a good thing. If you want to concealed carry (please do) and you aren't built to conceal a full sized grip then don't buy one. It isn't a difficult concept. There are plenty of aftermarket parts, especially for Glock pistols, to provide you with nearly any combination of grip size / slide / barrel length you could possibly desire. Do some research and stop bitching that a manufacturer isn't given you the limited edition "Hello Kitty" variant you've been Screeching about.

I recently parted with my 19x to fund the G45 mos. I added night sights, extended slide release, Holosun scs and for giggles the maritime spring cups. Definitely an upgrade plus I never really loved the coyote finish. Great video 👍

I really think this gun could be the perfect solution for guys like me with big hands who want a slightly smaller slide for concealed carry. The Glock 19 grip is just too small for me to hold comfortably, especially the older models with the finger grooves. Glock makes so many different models, the haters just need to relax. If the demand is there, Glock will make it.

I was very happy to hear your comment on LRV' S comment. I totally agree with it. The G45 is a combat pistol not a sniper pistol. Almost everyone is so enamored with 5-10 rounds in 1 hole, good luck doing that in combat. I would rather have 2-5 rounds center mass hitting various organs. As usual your presentation is spot. I hope you're enjoying good health.

Very clear explanation about glock 45 gen 5. It’s a crossover design from different glock models. Thanks God mine is on its way from grab-a-gun. I am very much impressed about this gun. For every youtube video I watch, it’s all positive and excellent comments. I will keep this gun as my new concealed carry because it is a perfect design for self defense, home defense, concealed carry, and for range shootings, because it is known to be reliable in everything. Hello Chris. I bought a Glock 45 nearly a year ago and find the full size grip minus the finger groves a huge improvement over the Gen 3&4 Glocks that I own. With the advance of years and worsening Osteoarthritis in my hands I myself constantly shifting my grip with the older Glocks. Not so with the gen5 version. I like it so much that I traded a gen3 Glock34 up to a gen5 and absolutely love that long slide and the increased accuracy. Thank you for another great review. All the best to you and your family. PS. Have you looked at the TruGlo TFX Pro fiber optic tritium sights they have both a tritium vial and glow nicely in the dark as well as fiber optic tubes that light up like neon in daylight. The rear sight is also made with a shelf for one handed racking of the slide. These sights now equip all my semi auto pistols including the Novak style on my Springfield Armory compact 1911 “Ultra Carry”.

I've been waiting on this review.
I jumped on the G45 bandwagon early after hearing about it. The G45 is my first new Glock since buying a gen 2 over 20 years ago. I've owned it over a month now putting 600 rounds through it without a problem. If I have to give one gripe about it? It would be the trigger. Not that the trigger is bad, just that it could have been smoother. (I'm spoiled by my PPQ's trigger)
If your thinking about getting G45? just do it. You won't regret it.

Almost bought the 19X but went with the G45 instead. I like the front serrations on the G45. I did like that the 19X came with night sights but $80 fixed that on the G45 and the total price was less than the 19X. So that's a win. Had I bought the 19X, first thing I'd have done was shave off that little nub on the front of the mag well. I know why they put it there but I don't need it. Thanks for the info!

Thorough review. I rely upon your reviews and opinion on different firearms Mr Bartocci. I have been considering a Glock 45 for some time now as I find the G 19 gen 4 although a superbly reliable pistol I've grown to somewhat dislike the finger index on the front. It takes me a bit to warm up with the G 19 and such has not been the case with the longer grip minus the finger index on older Glock 17's so I expect I'll find the same to be true with the full size grip on the G 45. Chris a belated wish for a good New Year. It should certainly prove to be interesting with the new administration in the Oval Office. All the best sir.

This pistol barrel is 3mm too short to be sold on the Canadian market sadly (102mm vs minimum required length of 105mm) making this a "prohibited" firearm instead of a "restricted" in the sovereign settlement of Canadia. Sad days for us in the frozen north.

My biggest gripe with the 19 was the grip being just a hair too short for me and my gripe with the 17 was the slide being too long for me to comfortably appendix carry. I myself have the 17 and 19 I carry my 19 everywhere I go and I also have the 2 extra magazines with me at all time. I've been saving for the g45 but I am undecided if I do want it or not. I'm more as a yes i will but i might see something else i might like better will see in a couple of months what happens.

Austrian export laws differ from US ones. My guess is Austria had export issues with your country where the US did not so you got American made Glocks.

That’s hard to say. Many variables. It’s safer to say most are comparable. Personal like 124gr for most

    • @Atombender
      @Atombender 4 месяца назад

The 9x19 was originally loaded with an 8 gram RN bullet. 8 gram = 123 grain, so anything between 115-125 grain would be very close to the original design.

Can you weigh in on the name of the G45? Tim from Military Arms Channel insists that NO glock name has anything to do with patent number. We know the 17 is named after the 17th patent. I believe the 19 and 45 follow a similar convention. Please weigh in, Chris!

ampark09 the 17 was the 17th patent. I do not believe the 19 and 45 were though. That is just the chronological sequence of new models.

They dont follow patents. Glock conveniently has their patents listed on their website and they dont match up with the gun model. Rumors are the Glock 44 is still in development and will be announced at SHOT Show.

I assume you've owned the 19x longer than the Glock 45. So why didn't you switch from the Glock 19 to the 19x? Why did it take the Glock 45 to make you switch? Were you just turned off by the tan color?
