Man, I can't believe I liked Highbrow as a child (I still have my original) - his knees are up at his hips and his elbows are at the wrists! For Christmas one year I had to choose between getting Optimus and Megatron. I changed my mind so many times my mum, gods bless her, managed to get me both! WOW!
My Two Top Favorate g1 figures and characters are g1 optimus prime and g1 bumbleebee !!! Those Two have always and will always hold a vary special place in my heart and my collection as well too !!!
Good list. Your #1 is arguably the most liked Transformer of all time. I liked that you put Swoop in there, he was one of my favs as a kid. My #1 fav that I had as a kid is a toss up between Skywarp (1st transformer I ever owned) Mirage (he was so different from most car bots out there) and Metroplex (probably the best xmas gift as a child I ever got)
Skywarp, Mirage and Metroplex are great! I did not get Metroplex until I was nearly done with Transformers and was disappointed how small he was although he housed minibots very well so stayed in city mode for me. Thanks and great ones!
MY FAVORITE G1, TOP 5 5. DEVASTOR Still the most kick-ass combiner (dispite to the lack of articulation). Had the vehicles been diecast, it would have been number 1! 4. Megatron I had the Japanese GunRobo version that shot bullets! (Most of the Japanese G1 line were available in JapanTown, along with the Micromaster line. Ironically, they were often cheaper than their Transformers counterpart!) His fragility is the only reason why he isn't higher! 3. SOUNDWAVE Cartoon accuracy and playability 2. JETFIRE Not number 1 only because he didn't have much presence in the show. Otherwise I would totally put him there. 1. OPTIMUS PRIME No explanation needed! Ok, maybe one...he never broke! 😁 Great job Mike. And thank you for your kick-ass vids, especially in these uncertain times!

For me, #1 is Motormaster. The G1 toy looked nothing like the on-screen character, but with his additional "ramp" mode and everything, he was just fun to play with. The Stunticons still rank highest for me. There's just something about their color schemes and on -screen designs. It's awesome to have the MPs from X-transbots now.
Yes the MP line really make me appreciate the G1 figures more as I can see what they should have been. I did not care for stunticons back in the day but am having fun with them now and have since picked up a G1 Menasor not too long ago. Thanks

Maybe you should do a Top 10 list on the Best transformers companies? Fanstoys, Takara, Xtransbots, Dx9, mmc ocular max, etc. Or even the top 10 retailers or maybe even Top 10 worst transformers to Transform. As always great video!
Of the three genuine G1 toys I have (not counting my reissues) I definitely say G1 Snapdragon is my favourite , I have more fun with him than some modern toys surprisingly , I'm always picking him up off the shelf. his articulation is good , I personally love the colours , and I adore the headmaster gimmick , I don't have the guns or tail fins unfortunately but I am looking out for them as well as an apeface to have the two together 😍
the best part about Perceptor was the fact it was a working microscope! I loved putting little leaves or rocks under the lens and seeing into the sub micro universe
Love Perceptor. As a kid, I always liked the techspec personalities and abilities descriptions. I really wished the media portrayed this things. Example, Perceptor and Optimus Prime were supposed to be very smart. They didn't seem to be in the cartoons. Anyway, let's face it, Cyclonus is a Robotic Clothespin (that head sculpt) lol. I liked Hardhead a bit more than Brainstorm, but probably because I didn't have him. Great list love G1. Thanks for the video!
I was born in 84 so I didn't get very much G1, Only Jazz and kickback. I sorely wanted Prime, but never found him. I was so glad when Walmart rereleased it, I finally got it. But it still remains a sour note for me because they didn't include his trailer.

10. Devastator: I had a really nice KO set that was based on the Diaclone Construction Robo set, and it felt WAY more solid than the actual Hasbro Constructicons, which a friend had. Not to mention they were pretty badass in the show. 9. Thundercracker: I've only had incomplete ones as a kid. But it seemed like more people had Thundercracker or at least one of the Coneheads than Starscream or Skywarp. 🤷🏽♂️ 8. Rodimus Prime: I got an incomplete one as a kid from a friend who never bothered to give me the missing components. So, this was my stand-in for Hot Rod until I actually GOT Hot Rod. 7. Scorponok: Another incomplete one, lol. But he made a wicked nice base for the others. I should check around for a G1 Scorpy...and I don't care that the Earthrise one is coming in a couple months. 😈 6. Abominus: Had this between me and a friend; he had Sinnertwin, Blot, & Rippersnapper, I had Hun-grr & Cutthroat. I'd hazard a guess that this guy was a "consolation prize" for anyone who missed out on Predaking back then. By myself, I had a crazier configuration than most KOs nowadays: Hun-grr, Cutthroat, Breakdown, Wildrider, & Afterburner. 5. Bruticus: I never had this as a kid. My wife (back when we were still dating) scored some sweet eBay deals on Bruticus, Menasor, Computron, and the Commemorative Series reissues of Optimus & Hot Rod, all over a decade ago. Bruticus was definitely a favorite, and he ain't even my favorite Combiner (that's Predaking)!! 4. Hot Rod: Ahhh, Hasbro...y'all dropped the ball with the Commemorative Series version. Takara's Collection version had the Targetmaster with a retooled extra gun (to fit the bigger hole in the hand)...but y'all straight up reissued the original. Still a great figure no matter what. 😏😏😏 3. Soundwave & Blaster: These mofos were pretty epic. It's funny that the toy which became Blaster was actually BIGGER than the one that became Soundwave when they both ran microcassettes (though Blaster's Minions were all new creations for the Movie & season 3). 2. Optimus & Megatron: Gotta get a look at the two faction leaders. I never had the G1 Optimus until that Commemorative Series one. I wouldn't mind going in on it again, either. Conversely, the Megatron reissue I want - Takara's Collection one - is just as expensive as MP36 nowadays. 😒 1. Powermaster Optimus Prime: This was my absosmurfinlute *FAVORITE* as a kid. Sure, the Takara Super Ginrai version did some nicer stuff (retractable hands on the trailer/Super Mode body, better paint apps, diecast in the legs of the main figure, etc.)...but the Hasbro one is the one I came up on, and by default, that _WAS_ my G1 Optimus Prime. Gettin' my mitts on Takara's Transformers Legends God Ginrai set had my whole childhood rollin' along. I should check eBay & Amazon to see how much that Commemorative Series reissue of G1 PMOP "with Apex Armor" set (which is effectively Hasbro's repack of Takara's G1 God Ginrai set, retooling and all) runs for nowadays...
My favorite G1 figure is Perceptor. I got the Universe reissue in the beautiful velcro opening packaging along with ROTF and Animated figures. even among all of those he remained one of my favorites. It's a shame that most of the G1 toys weren't even close to his level.
G1 Shockwave is definitely the most cartoon accurate G1 figure. Seriously, compare it with the animation model and it's hard to find any differences other than proportions at all. Nice size too.

If we are including beast wars as it is part of g1. My favorite figure was tigatron. It was my first ever transformer figure. Bought alongside airazor. It started my love of white tigers. And is the reason my first mainline masterpiece buy will be tigatron.
I actually knew a few kids who wanted to become a Scientist because of Preceptor. I somehow liked the Radio shack version of Shockwave better than the G1 version. Jetfire is cool. However, Optimus is my number 1

I actually had a lot more but these were some of my favorites. Preceptor, The Constructicons, the other two Dinobots, and Menasaur are all honorable mentions for me. I had all of these as a child. I was pretty lucky. Warpath was my first ever Transformer and Grimlock was my second and I still love them the most.

Mine will be Powerglide but hated the fact that the toy has only the tail section as the legs, totally different from the cartoon.
