  • honest arteza watercolor paper review ! i saw this arteza 7" round watercolor paper pad and lindsay the frugal crafters youtube channel and i had to have it !! her painting came out so beautiful and i encourage you to go check out her video link below ! this arteza round watercolor paper is 100% cotton with a cold press surface but id describe it more somewhere between hot press and cold press . its smoother than most cold press making it excellent for colored pencils and mixed media . i really enjoyed this paper even though there are a few drawbacks so i hope you enjoy this watercolor paper review ! just a reminder : i am NOT sponsored and i purchased this with my own money , youtube is my hobby not my job . no one is paying me . my reviews are always honest :) Dont forget to check out Lindsays Channel !

Is the round block the same as the Arteza 100% cotton pads?
I'm guessing no because the pad of cold press has texture and takes masking fluid and tape well.

I haven't tried any other product from arteza so I can't directly compare. But this paper could not handle masking fluid at all. It really gripped the paper so I had to scrub to get it off. And it ripped it when it did come off and left such jagged horrible lines. That said I still do like this paper but just not for asking fluid technique.

You should do a masking or washi tape test too. I am always so disappointed when the very top layer of paper comes off with the tape.

It will rip with tape yes . But you don't need it because it's a block ☺️

@@corriemcginnis4400 just so you know I wouldn't recommend washi tape on any artist paper because washi tape is not acid free. If you care about the archivability of your artwork you want to make sure that you're using acid free artist tape. Everything that touches your paper has an effect on it. And the acids in the tape can Brown / discolor the paper over time and even rot it away.

I didn't know that either. Well, I did know but never thought about acid free tape.
