Excellent review Vu. Really love your "whatever" attitude. You don't have to feel sorry for what you want to do man. Looking forward to your next Fuji X reviews!
Nice review! I got the 23mm just before you uploaded the video, I guess watching it before wouldn't have changed my mind! I'm pretty happy with it so far.
Thanks for the recent Fuji content. I was an early adopter with the X100S/T, XT1/2 and then stepped out of the system back into Nikon, transitioning from F to the Z system. Too costly to give up the legacy glass (which is still amazing for photos), so I'm waiting for my XT4 for video. Keep up the good work.
Tried 23 f1.4 from Viltrox vs Fujinon 23 f1.4 for photography , and they are right when they say you get what you pay.Viltrox is decent option if you are on budget and for the rest Fujinon beat Viltrox in IQ department.
Great video! I’m getting an x-t3 in next week, super excited to keep working on my channel! But I was struggling with figuring out what lens to get, thanks for helping me decide!🐠👍
Great review. Helped me decide to keep my 27mm. Its a bit slow to focus but lacks the nasty CA of both 23mm lenses. I will wait for the Sigma 30mm f1.4 for faster/longer. Rather have the closer 27 and 30 focal lengths than bad glass. 35mm is too wide for me and 33 with CA is a turn off. I take sunny photos everyday. Would also prefer no aperture ring than a de clicked one because of how I hold the camera. CAF isn’t important to me. May get the 27mm II as that has an aperture ring lock button which is a big deal and it might focus a smidgen faster.
Hello, first thanks for the super helpful videos,, I am a Fuji shooter and I like the system a lot.. just want a lens thats good enough for street photography, was thinking of getting the a7iii with the 35mm 1.8, but dont really like working with 2 systems. is the viltrox 23mm 1.4 good for that? ofcourse aside from the a7iii fullframe capabilities. thanks again so much.

Hey Vu! Wanted to ask you a question about the Viltrox 23mm F1.4 and the Fujifilm X-T4.. I just got the Viltrox 23mm F1.4 and I have a weird issue with it when shooting video.. When I turn on the camera and change the aperture manually with the lens everything seems to be working fine, but after around 2-3 minutes if I try to change the aperture again it doesn’t seem to do anything. So I have to turn on/off the camera and dial my aperture again so the camera can recognize my aperture setting. It only happens in Movie mode and not in Still mode, is this something common with the Viltrox 23mm F1.4 lens ? Thanks!
Very appreciating review for these four lens. I am trouble for a decision for couple week. because they are pretty similar function. but after having your review. I would like to go xf35 f2 because its close focus. I need a camera to shot the design of our product and the lens will be better to approach the surface and so we can make somehow the image of reflective light. Thanks for your share. I like viltrox either for the affordable price. but the close focus really is not acceptable for me
Fuji 35mm F2 WR looks good, but its focus breathing really annoying. Viltrox on the other side has no breathing, faster aperture, but has no WR and can't change focus smoothly. Which of them you use more often now?
Cool . 2 quick YES or NO questions regarding the 23 viltrox. Is there smooth resistance to the focus ring ? Can you achieve smooth manual focus pulls in video ? thank you
Hallo, I use Xt2 with XF18-55 kit lens and I want to buy my first prime for video and photography. Which one you recommend to me. Viltrox 33 or fuji 35 f2??
The 33 seems kind of big and heavy compared to the Fuji 35 f1.4 For travel would you still recommend the Fuji 35? the f2 can be a bit slow f for indoors while in buildings.
Comparing 23 lenses, viltrox is 72mm length, fuji f2 is 52mm. Put on viltrox that huge hood and you have over 10cm protruding length. For some it might be a deal breaker. If you shoot in studio or in one location there is no problem. But, if you want compact varsatile lens, taking with you everyvere in the woods or hiking, you are not obsessed with shooting everyfing as wide as possible, fuji 23/2 is still very good choise. Viltrox is interesting, but it is very big problem with its size. If it would be 56mm, it would be different story, because of the specific situations of using it.
I want to get that one, thanks! Vu Nguyen I have a question if you can help me briefly. I got the X-T4. Why when I playback my VIDEOS in the TV screen (Through the HDMI), I'm having video playback flickering with videos that are moving like panning, but when I play the videos in the Camera viewfinder it plays right, that freak me up . Thanks for you support my friend! I don't have any video software at this moment, I tried Windows Media Player and it doesn't work either! lol.... maybe I'm doing something wrong!
Fantastic review! Everything covered without any unnecessary jargon! Wonder if you had the chance to check the Tokina 23mm/33mm lenses? Are they comparable to the Viltrox?
hi! First of all, Can I ask you what song did you use for this vídeo? haha, thanks for the review! I'm gonna think what to do, because I want a 35mm aprox 1.4f to get as much as bokeh I can, but I also want a lot of sharpness. I ordered my xt4 with the 16-80 f4, but what lense do you recommend me apart from that? the 23 or 33mm from Viltrox? After watching you I decided not to expend 200$ more on the original fuji lenses, but i still undecided about the focal lenght that i want. Do you think both 23 and 33 are equal in terms of luminosity or low light situations? which of the two has more sharpness and detail? Thank you so much
Great video, thank you so much posting it. I just got the xt4 yesterday. I’m considering getting these 2 f1.4 viltrox lenses or the sigma 18-35 with the fringer adapter. How does the autofocus on the adapted sigma compare to these two?

Seems like f1.4 with viltrox produces the same bokeh that the fuji f2 does. also, color looks more pleasing with the fuji lens and obviously the close focusing distance is better with the fuji....tough call considering the fuji is about $100 more.....lots of give or take with these two.
