I'm glad you could save them. You really should change the substrate to sand or bare bottom. Goldfish are scavengers and like to filter food from the bottom...they can actually choke on the pebbles and rocks. Also, be sure to keep an eye on the Ph of the water, drift wood leaches tannins and will lower the ph, goldfish prefer a higher ph. I would add some pothos plants hanging out the top of the water to help with nitrates. And one last thing, if you get anymore, definitely quarantine them for at least a month before adding to your tank.

So glad you got these for their re-home. I worry a bit about them damaging themselves on that piece of driftwood, so I would keep an eye on that. I have been keeping goldfish for over 30 years. I switched to gel food about 10 years ago and will never go back. The nutrients and the way goldfish can digest this food is really good as goldfish have no stomach, and greatly reduces the chance of bloat. It also sinks right to the bottom of your aquarium.

Wow your Ryukin looks the same as mine. I got mine and it looked like just a normal fantail when it was smaller but now it's got a big top and completely different to the other one lol and I didn't get told it was that one 😂

I bought a 10 gallon tank for my little sisters birthday on Monday, I've been considering getting a betta for it. I currently have 2 comet golds. Would be cool to see a indepth vid on betta's from you .

For future reference, fancies are really easy to catch with your hands, and it tends to be better for them as your hands are less likely to damage the fancy finnage. Good job rescuing them though! Hope they do well for you.
Aquatic Tints depends on the fish. My little fancies are impossible to catch with anything but one of them practically leaps into my hands.
That one looks like a telescopic/fantail cross.

Is it normal for a Ryukin to keep opening and closing its mouth? I change the water on my 16gal tank like twice a week due to the tank being like a tea color.. I feed it 2-3x/day.
that’s how fish generally breathe. its called countercurrent exchange mechanism. look it up😇🧚🏿✨💝

I have hard well water like you. If the new fish came from a home with soft water how do you avoid ph shock when adding them into your hard well water?

I have a pond with a black and gold oranda and 3 shubunkins the oranda is about 4inches and the comet goldfish are about a inch the oranda is only in there till the tank is cycled is saw my oranda at petsmart and couldn't leave it
