    I was almost going to go for the Nyxi Wizard Joycons, but this video helped me decide on the Doyoky Joycons. Plus they updated them with Hall effect joysticks. I got the Silver one. May get the other colors too later down the line. Would love an orange one.

      @@Pumpkinhead2400 That's the idea, unfortunately I'm not seeing any improvements from Nyxi. One thing that a lot of people want that would be super easy for Nyxi to do is to send small stick caps with each pair. The bigger thing that they need to fix is the feel and function of the face buttons. They are on their second or third batch, but they have not fixed the face buttons. Doyoky, on the other hand, is responding to feedback. People want Hall effect sticks, so they released their Doyoky Retro GameCube JoyCons with hall effect sticks.

    NYXI has improved the Wizard from their first release. Dpad has proper pivot now and face buttons feel better. The sticks are more precise too. *Edit- Right stick is snapping to cardinal directions and dpad gets a bit tiring to use with the mechanical switches they chose to use. Left stick is good. I ordered my Nyxi wizard on the 12th of May, received them somewhere in June (I live in Europe). ZR button does not click anymore when pressed. I am an avid smash player but always very careful with my hardware. On top of that I had not played that much yet (it was maybe my 10th session). My gamecube controllers lasted me 19 years now. Actually the thumbsticks on the Wizard are my biggest problem with it. Either there is some kind of significant deadzone on mine, or it’s just plain slow, but either way my character movements in Smash Bros are just not cutting it with the wizard. Got me wondering if I just got a defective one because everyone is saying these Hall effect sticks are spose to be amazing? Well my son & my nephew both liked it enough that I ordered two more for them, so I’ll be able to test those out to see if the thumb sticks are still trash. I also have one of the doyoky’s on the way and I have a feeling that one will be the one I like more.

      @Sickentist 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@CarrotsNotCake @ShiningSHORYUKEN Yes, turns out all the NYXI's have the crap large deadzone so they are simply useless for me for Smash. the Doyoky doesn't have the deadzone problem, so the thumbsticks are better in that regard (being more responsive). however, we know the doyoky will eventually develop drift, and not only that, but the replaceable thumb caps EASILY snap off when i'm playing a match really intensely. Like i will go to jam my C stick quickly to catch someone with a Tilt attack and the yellow nub will just go flying off the stick. So i literally had to super glue the caps i wanted to use on permanently. lol. the ABXY face buttons on both controllers i can perform about the same with. they're not as good as OEM GC face buttons of course, but they're better than other cheap 3rd party GC controllers I've used before. So for now, i do prefer the Doyoky. once the left thumbstick inevitably develops drift, i will swap the left joycon side out for a real joycon i've fixed the drift on and just use the doyoky's right Con for any Smash bros portable gaming i do.

      @@Sickentist Lovely. heh.
      If Doyoky used modules as good as GameCubes, they'll last for a looooooooong time. Eventually could be decades away. Doyoky has their hall effect model out now. I'd link it, but my comments with links usually get deleted. It's showcased on the homepage of their website.
      Yo, easily on yours? Mine is on so tight. I put the small cap on the left side for kicks, and it took a lot of force to get it off. If yours pops off again, compare it with the grey one. I wonder if there's a manufacturing defect on the yellow one, or maybe on the joystick module's column.
      ABXY on Nyxi... I just can't. The height difference is too much. On Doyoky's, they're so close. Not like OEM GameCube, like you said, but good enough for sure.
      That gonna look goofy, but it will work.

    Mine didn't arrive so I can't check yet whether it's true, but apparently mapping a single button is also possible.
    I found a message on reddit stating this:
    "The manual isn't really clear but you can actually map the macro button to a single button map and not a macro sequence, to do it you have to press profile, then while HOLDING the button you want to map, press profile again. This is the only way to get the back button to single map without a lag to it that comes when you program a sequence"

      I have twenty year old potentiometer sticks that work perfectly after over a thousand hours. Potentiometer sticks can be very high quality, or they can be the low quality junk that seems to be common in first party controllers these days. Hall sticks can be junk, too, as has been seen with the sticks in Nyxi's having issues at an alarming rate.
