the mental ray renderer is not available in my version. How to get it?

You need to install Mental Ray plug-in separately. I am also going to make a tutorial on the same topic by using Arnold (I guess you have this renderer in your version).

You can download any hdri randomly may be from google or hdrihaven like website. I also just took it randomly.

Arnold is a bit different but the concept is same. You take two 'aistandard material'. For one, set the diffuse color and reduce the specularity. For the other increase the metalness. You will get the result. Then render in arnold. For both you can play with the attributes.

In the mental ray render setting, go to quality tab and 'sampling mode' change to 'Legacy Sampling Mode'. Then change the Anti-aliasing Contrast to .01 and Max Sample Level to 3.
It also can be 2 or 4 according to the need. Hope it will solve your problem.
