      After three years of modeling experience, I thought I could do hands. Yet after several hours of rigging and deformers and whatnot, here I am, having to cut the hands off of the base mesh and redo everything. Serves me right for not watching this beforeHAND

    It's so hard to find good tutorials online. Usually the hosts spend too much time on the intro and its gets to the 10 minute mark before I get to the answer I wanted all the while the person making it thinks they're a comedian waiting to be discovered. This is a really good one. Props to you.

      @AlexCheparev  8 лет назад +4

      +Michael Tompkins Sorry about that, you can use X, C, or V hotkeys to snap to Grid, Curve/Edge, Vertex respectively. An easy way to move and snap is to select the move tool (W), then press and hold (V) and use press and hold Middle Mouse Button while moving. This will snap to the closest vertex.

    • @Jmiket238807
      @Jmiket238807 8 лет назад

      Press Ctrl+D to duplicate, then scale in X to -1, that will flip it.

      You mean where I turned on subdivide preview? Press 3. Pressing 1 is normal display, 2 is poly cage preview, and 3 is subdivision preview.

    What's the importance of clearing input history? What keys did you press to do it?

    • @AlexCheparev
      @AlexCheparev  8 лет назад +3

      Hotkey is Shift+Alt+D. As you work, history starts to build up on your model, great for going back and changing some things, but it can also cause crashes and will slow maya down if the history stack gets too long. I clear history as often as I can remember. Also, save often.
