Sold. I was looking for a basic recipe that could have come from the 1950's. I can remember how good these were as a child but it's been decades since I've eaten one. Thank you for the recipe and thank you for caring enough to take John meals.
I love the way you present your videos: brief and to the point, no sitting here watching someone slowly peel 4 potatoes, stirring the pot for 3 minutes etc, etc. Thank you!
I can say I watched this video for the first time about a year ago and my husband and I eat this regularly! It’s so good! With mashed potatoes and a vegetable
Lol I make this every once in a while and I usually come back to this video to remind myself the steps and the music always catches me off guard. It is SO funny
Onions and gravy sauce is very very good! I'm not allergic to onions! Onions is good! I like brown stuff! It's not gross and yucky! It doesn't look like shit crap and poop!
My idea of a perfect dinner would be a salisbury steak just like that with some mashed potatoes with the skins, some onion and mushroom gravy, green peas with carrot slices and dinner rolls with butter. For dessert; either some turtle topped, strawberry, apple-cinnamon and caramel, blueberry or cherry cheesecake.
Ok so my sauce wasn't as much as the video. The recipe doesn't say to add water with the broth but to add it if it thickens up to fast which for me assumed I may not need water. How much water did you add because my gravy wasn't as plentiful as yours was.
Turned out awesome! I just finished making this. Since I was starting with 1.5 pounds of ground beef I bumped up the measures to match. I was also making a side dish that was running a little long, so I simmered the patties in the gravy for about 15 minutes with a lid on... patties break apart wonderfully. I mostly like the idea of grating the onion into the breadcrumbs, but I think I'll try using a food processor to make the onion slurry next time instead as the onions were un-layering while I tried to grate them. Otherwise, amazing recipe! 10/10 I DO recommend!
I have the same problem with this recipe… I think the onion juice makes the patty mixture very wet therefore it didn’t form well. I will try again next time with less grated onion.
W_w_84 It's more in line with burnt meatloaf, but have no fear - the burnt part adds dramatically to the flavor, especially the gravy. Chefs often refer to the burnt part that sticks to the pan as "flavors," for good reason. Ever hear of a char-broiled hamburger? Just don't overdo it or you will have charcoal . . . not good.
It's named after its inventor, James Salisbury, a 19th-century nutrition pioneer and doctor. He was an early low-carb pioneer, a beef steak advocate. Read about him here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Salisbury

tina you should use rice in the meal
@@maximoo5963 at what step do I use cooked white rice and how much?
@@maximoo5963 I serve it with mashed potatoes. Not a rice person and I don't think this was meant to be served with rice
Thanks for sharing from florida.. godbless

I would've like to have known what heat setting. And you say these patties cook in FIVE minutes? After only being browned for 1 minute per side?
Great video
Great dish, love the music, early 70s porn I believe .
...and you would know this how...? LOL!
@@robertr0th935 Oh yeah I went back and listened definitely . Boom chicka mowww waaa 😳

Use cooked rice. It makes the steak super juicy.
Family, no longer, secret.
Great suggestion! Thanks.
Use cooked rice how?
Instead of bread crumbs or?
My steak broke apart while cooking it. Is there a way to make it so it doesn't?
I am so hungry right now....
best Salisbury steak recipe ever
Rissoles and gravy
Yum 😋
What type of pan are you using in your videos?
It looks like a ceramic pan
I never tried Salisbury steak I discovered it on MasterChef I didn't even know it exist
I love ketchup and mustard!
james spitting facts
Ohhhh yeaaaa.
Hey you used a hand model!
I watch enough of your vids to know lol.
But why?
Maybe more appealing to viewers! I guess?!
like blacked ?
You didn't mentioned egg but, it's pretty delicious.
I modify it ..egg white only, no mustard or ketchup, ---allergies
Hi my beef patties were too soft and breaking after I browned them. What did I do wrong!?
It could be that you mixed the meat too much when mixing everything together or that they weren't packed tight enough when forming patties
@@brandistewart1594 Also I used very lean meat. That could also be the couse. Thanks for your sugestsion.
I have the same problem with this recipe… I think the onion juice makes the patty mixture very wet therefore it didn’t form well. I will try again next time with less grated onion.
Is this "Lunch Lady" approved??
I think I just had an organism.
@T OB um, Your Thesis gave me a throbbing organism. 😊
What name did you give it?
I'm just here for the jam.
Its on the stove and cooking away! I will let you know how it turns out.
Well...
@Joe Smith really why wasn't it good ?
I dont have Worcestershire Sauce, can I use soy sauce instead??=/
mix the soy with a little vinegar and steak sauce and you may get close to the same taste
That's some sexy steak! LOL!
Mumm! Burnt hamburger patty’s

I just use ground beef
ugh, I would murder a plate of that right now!!!!!!!!!
Not 100% sure but I think the pan was faking it.
Love the Porn music !
Love the 70s porn music
Why this steak always have gravy? Its nasty without it or what?
cHEVY WILLIAMS It's like a hamburger with gravy on it.
It's fine without gravy but so good and moist meat cooked that way
Because it's part of the dish, otherwise it's not Salisbury steak, it's just a beef patty.
The porn music makes this a little extra.
dr disrespect
I cannot believe she put ketchup and mustard in that shit 😳
Yes, no need.. I always modify
A little bit to dark for my taste 😂
RACIST!
Also,
...."too"!
The 70s porn music ruins the mood.
What’s with the porno music
So it's just....meatloaf burgers?
