One thing I utterly love about Kent and Shannon, while the food is outstanding, their ability to be real, genuine and humble down to earth people is one of the reasons I been here so long.
Stay classy.✊
Thanks so much for the kind words
He is just as humble and kind in person, too. I had the privilege of meeting him a while back at a dinner
@@CowboyKentRollinsgood stuff. Your mom was a very attractive woman.
@@CowboyKentRollins you let the dog lick the bowl that is disgusting did you throw the bowl away at least
@@JazmineJaylineHernandez-vq6moA good washing with hot water and dish soap, no issues whatsoever. Why throw it away?

You should get Kent to make Cowboy Fejoada!
There's never a bad plate when there's gravy around ! Goes with all three meals of the day !
That is for sure
Agree 😊
My wife and I cook for youth camps. Nothing fancy but a lot of good food. One young girl said, "I know you love us because you feed us good." It could be a miserable cold, rainy camp but if the food good, hot and a lot of it, it was a great camp. Add this one to our next camp.
It was cooked with Love, my boys would say.
Shot out to Kent's mother who birthed and raised such a stand up honest dude like Kent. God Bless.
10-4 momma
Amen 🙏🏼
I learned a HARD lesson the last time I made hamburger steak and gravy . I was out of Worcestershire and ran to the store to get some . All they had was some off brand but I figured it had to be the same. Not even CLOSE! It was a syrupy who-knows-what. So I stocked up on the Lee and Perrins to avoid this in the future .
It is for sure the best
@@CowboyKentRollins There is a difference.
If there isn't Lea and Perrin's, French's makes a good one. If there isn't Lee and Perrins or French's, then there is no Worcestershire sauce.
@@christophermcdowell9063 I agree. French's is the best sub for Lea & Perrins, otherwise just omit it. 😂😂
He food looks and probably taste great but seeing the dog lick the bowl is a bit much for me
When Mom would drive all of us kids to town on a Saturday to visit Grandma she would regularly make this dish for us. GOOOOOD memories. Thank you Kent!!!
Good eating for sure it is
Oh me too haha
That's some really good country cooking. Thanks to our veterans, and our troops for their services. Also thanks to our farmers and ranchers for helping to feed us. Cheers, Kent and Shannon! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
You are worth it! 27 yrs US Army Infantry! (8AD/19NG)
We thank all those who have served and all those who watch
Don't stop dancing Kent. Cooking should be fun. Thanks again.
As long as the good Lord will give me air, I'm going to keep on keeping on
i always heard it called "salisbury steak", and when mom made it, i stuffed myself.
i still make it from time to time, smashed taters and some peas - pearl onions even better.
when it's cold, or i'm a little down. Always hits the spot.
Mr. Rollins, I say this with absolute respect. Your mother was beautiful. It's kinda funny, I have two sisters, but I was the one who remembers my mom's recipes and cooks them, all these years after she passed.
Im a born Texan, living in Germany for over 30 years. These videos give me the vibe I miss here.
Keep on rollin Kent!
Will do, we thank you for watching
Why did you leave Texas
Just out of curiosity, sir, what brought you to Germany?
9:15 "You can't never go wrong with gravy". So true Kent.
I'm a prep cook at a fine dining steakhouse in Bozeman,Montana. So I actually made homemade Chicken fried steak, mash potatoes with a white gravy, and stuffing last night for my bestfriends as his wife is pregnant and that's what she was craving and it gave him a break after coming home after being out in the weather with his job. Happy family and an amazing dinner that was so great.
I’m doing this but I’m going to put mushrooms in the gravy🙌
Ruined it!!!!
you can skip all the onions he chopped and just add a few sprinkes of french onion soup mix.
@@americafirst834Eeww, why would you want to ruin that gravy with overprocessed, salty junk food?
God bless you.
Kent's the most wholesome cooking channel on RUclips.
We thank you for taking time to watch
I love watching this channel especially when Kent dances at the end when he's proud of his meal.
We thank you for watching
@@CowboyKentRollins Kent's happy dance is a good'er!
I thought that was just due to a lack of a porta potty.
A true classic. I've had this meal hundreds of times, and it never gets old. I usually opt for a brown gravy, although neither would get turned down.
One of my all time favorites it is
We do hamburger gravy over mashed potatoes. A family favorite.
Absolute the best go to guy. …. Go to hillbilly country Whitley co Kentucky 😊
We do it over rice in the Philippines 🇵🇭 lol
Great classic. My 82 year old mother cooked this up for my three brothers and I yesterday. Had it with homemade flour tortillas! Thanks to The Almighty, she's still making memories. Thanks, Kent.
My wife has me scheduled for a salad for supper. I would really like that hamburger steak.
Darn there's only a few salads I'd classify as a meal but i cannot go past a chicken caesar though
My great aunt Bevy made something like this;
It was bone in pork chops, mushroom cream gravy, onions, and potato slices, baked in the oven after searing the chops.
Stick to your ribs good
I have had that same dish many times ,..Real Good !
You can smell it from west Texas. Thank you for sharing your video with us.God bless from the 67 year old retired cowboy.
You're about the same age as Kent!
Cowboys don't retire where put out to pasture ,still walk funny
I lost my Mom the beginning of January. Really Miss Her and All the Great Food that She Cooked.
Hope you make a heart shaped burger for your sweetie Shannon!
She should make him one that’d be sweet
She is the love of my life
I sometimes make this same recipe, but instead of hamburger patties, I crumble the hamburger add mushrooms, a veg (peas or corn, broccoli is good too), and serve over noodles or toast. Delish! 💖🌞🌵😷
Sounds so good
Going through a reallly rough time in my life, and your channel is a ray of sunshine for me, Kent! Please keep up the great work!
This video brings back some great child hood memories. My grandma used to make it. Delicious
Comfort food for sure
Oldtimers understand a thing or two. As with every generation, we wish the young ones would listen.
Thank You ,Shannon and everyone else that makes what y'all do possible.
Blessings upon Blessings.
I would love to hang out around Bertha with you and the team, that is relaxed cooking to it's fullest.
It is for sure a good time this time of year
Made it - YUM! Like that the printable recipe page allows for adjusting the number of servings. You guys are AWESOME!
My mom and dad used to make this often for us. Dad would take any deer he killed ground into all hamburger meat and mix it 50/50 with beef and him and mom would make us this. They used lots of black pepper though other than that very similar and served on mashed taters just like yours. Some biscuits and sliced maters on the side of course.
Im gonna have to me me some this week and dine on it while watching reruns of the Rockford Files.
These are always the most wholesome videos you’ll find on YT. I was watching his playlists during my stay in the hospital and it took away the heavy anxiety of my seizures. So I really appreciate your content, Cowboy. I am a chef; very new and young chef, so these are most helpful to me when I want to try to make a new recipe I’ve never had. Like most men I’m naturally a fantastic cook. Although, being a chef is a whole different level of talent. And you sir, have excellent talents.
Hope you heal up quick and thanks for watching
Now that dog will hunt one my favorite meals ever,, thank you Kent and Shan,, and the pups for being such great Americans and Christian people god bless
And God bless you as well
Being from Canada I'd love to see Kent do a series of videos for cooking in the Klondike. Feed some gold miners in Dawson City, Yukon. I love this man. I wish he was my dad.
Being a native Texan, this was one of my dad’s favorite meals when I was growing up!
My husband has informed me that I will be making this tomorrow! 😂 Thanks for sharing!

Why can’t he cook?
He is not the greatest cook. I'm a stay at home house wife and I love to cook! He works very hard.
Bless you Tracy! How did the meal turn out?
@@laurendamasoruiz It was Amazing!!!!! 🤗
Hamburg steak plays an important part of a couple of new/newish anime that I've enjoyed in this last year. "Frieren:Beyond Journey's End" and the show "Buddy Daddies".
Ain't nobody watchin' anime on this channel. I 'member Bugs, the roadrunner, and the koyote. They did the same thing every episode, then you went outside to play.
Kent never fails to come through with amazing content! Who agrees?!
Hi Mr Kent, you brought back a lot of memories with that. My mother would make that for us. I remember coming into the kitchen and Mom would tell us "we in high cotton tonight" we're have hamburger steak for dinner! Thanks for the big smile I got.. 🤠🇺🇲
Thanks for watching
Kent, this looks delicious. The only thing I would add is green peas. My mom made mashed potatoes, gravy, and green peas. After more than 40 years of marriage, my wife still thinks I am touched in the head for mixing them all together, but I've loved it my entire life. (My wife will eat mashed potatoes peas and gravy, but the gravy has to be only on the mashed potatoes and the peas must be separate! But I love her anyway, and apparently she puts up with me!)
Aw, man...I'm so grateful for this video. That's exactly the way my mom made it. She didn't cook for a ranch, but she was the oldest on a dairy farm family of nine kids, and she did a lot of the cooking growing up. Love the story about the ol cowboys. Thank you!
I'm in my mid 70's and this is one of my all time favorite meals. Love your channel. Reminds me of growing up in East Tennessee....
I've been in some parts of the country where they used tenderized meat (run through a tenderizing machine and looks like hamburger but is still connected... one piece of meat) although tasty, it can be difficult to eat... use ground beef instead, you'll get a better result. 💖🌞🌵😷
Happy Valentines Day to You and Shannon! Also to all those pups. I love what you cooked today! Had that about a week ago! Y’all be safe. Watch where you’re stepping.
Thank you! You too!
Nothing like making a meal that’ll take someone down memory lane. I bet Mr. Ed enjoyed every bite.
He did for sure
I love how you make your meals while telling a good story.
i've just eaten (a bottle of wine and a really nice spaghetti bolgnese) but i got hungry again as soon as i read the title! i'm a 150, kent. you're gonna double me up at this rate! hamburger steak gravy and onion 😂😂😋
So good it is

Met you on Long island at stew Leonard’s….you were cooking hamburgers…they were super simple and absolutely amazin…had no idea who you were but bought your org seasonings…years later stumbled across your channel and was like this is the guy i met at stews! YOUR THE REAL DEAL! Thanks for all the good you do bud!!!🇺🇸
Thank you Sir for taking me back to Grandma's Cookin. God bless you Mr. Rollins.
You are so welcome and God bless you
I have never made gravy that way, but I’m gonna have to give it a try. Thanks for the recipe and enjoyable video.
Hope you enjoy
I remember when I was a kid and I didn't like my foods to touch and my mom would serve it like your mom did... Corn and mashed potatoes in their different corners and milk gravy over everything (except the gravy on the potatoes had to stay in the hole in the middle... It wasn't the same if the gravy spilled over or leaked out the bottom.) Now I like it all mixed up... a little meat, veg and starch all in one bite. 💖🌞🌵😷
I love everything about you. You’re love for life, dogs, people, cows, hardwork, the lord. I love you say prayers before eating and that you share your love with everyone. I love your carefree attitude and your corkyness. You are a dying breed. Thank you so much for sharing a piece of you with me. I truly appreciate you. God bless you and your family.
Hamburger Steaks and Cubed Steaks are great! Love them both with a brown mushroom gravy and mashed spuds. A classic!
This was my Father's favorite way to eat beef. ❤❤❤
Can't beat a meal like that. Thanks for sharing with us Kent and Shannon. Keep up the great videos and the fun you all have making them. Fred.
I will be making this meal next week after work. Thanks Cowboy Kent for this recipe! 😎
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO KENT AND SHAN.... You are both very special people who are always loving and are kind to a fault .... You are a blessing in many peoples lives.... We love you both.... Doc.
I Just want to say Happy Valentine's day to Shannon! She is a great Videographer and I personally Love hearing Her interjections During the Cooking Episodes.
I also Love seeing the Old time Trail Hands....
Recipe looks really delicious, but I have to say this is perhaps the best video I've seen on the channel in terms of production. Looks and sounds great.Well edited. Just some very nice work!
Glad you enjoyed it! Shannon does a great job
Good stuff! My momma would say that’s goodern snuff and ain’t half as dusty!!!
Yep for sure
Now Brother Kent, that is indeed a Genuine "Cadillac" version of the Blue Plate Special my Dear Grandmaw from Rush Springs, OK used to make at her Peak Cafe! People had to stand in line to get a seat when she made it! Yours is the Deluxe version with parmisian cheese, etc. Thanks for remembering use Senior Classic folks! BTW, I love y'alls channel!😅😊
Its 9am and I'm already wanting lunch now. You can't go wrong with a classic. Adding the onions into the meat is a new one for me, defiantly adding them next time.
I love your positivity, the world needs more Cowboy KR in their lives. We all need to be more loving and caring of our neighbors.
Also we need some t shirts or aprons with the puppers loaded in the classic car.
That would make a good apron
As a fellow beagle parent, I just want to say that your little baby is the bestest little baby.
Did someone say hamburger steak? You got my attention Cowboy Kent!! 😋
I love all of your videos because of how Shannon and the dogs are included along with the happy dance and salute to the military at the end of the cooking demonstration. I am hoping to try this recipe when we go on the trail this summer. I start every Saturday and Sunday morning watching on of your videos. Hoping to meet you folks someday. Paul
This has always been my favorite meal. Nailed it

You outdid yourself on this recipe Mr. Rollins...I think I may have smelled this cooking from almost a hundred miles away! Be good and safe Mr. Rollins and keep the faith! 🙏🏼
Thanks so much a God bless you as well
Loved that you shared an old classic meal. My Mom use to make this way back when. I use to make it to when my late hubby was alive. It was one of his favorites too. He liked it when I added sliced mushrooms to the dish. Always cooked in the iron skillet too. This is such a good recipe and thanks too for my rush of old memories.👍
We got a local dish out here called loco moco. It’s a hamburger steak dish that everyone loves out here🐸🍺🔪🔥
I have heard of that
I can honestly smell that cooking while I’m watching. Reminds me of childhood at my grandma’s house…guess what we’re having for dinner tomorrow!?
Hope everyone enjoys
Sorry that was me
This is the classic👍. Sometimes instead of mashed potatoes, I'll bake em skin on, and then chop em up to rough 1/2" size, with the flavorful skins. Make extra gravy... chunky taters with gravy is a big hit. If making real mashers, a variation I like is to mix whole kernel corn into the mashed.. Gives it a bit of texture, and extra flavors to savor.
Thank you for bringing this classic back👌👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Now your making me hungry
I'm glad you continue to make traditional country home cooking recipes. It's slowly disappearing in major Texas cities? Great food! 🍔🧀
Your a good man. 🤠🇺🇲
I remember back when there were many good steakhouses and lots of country cooking here in Texas. Now there must be 40 franchise variations of skinned chicken breasts with rice.
Real slop-bucket combos.

Ate a many of them.
Good stuff.
Gotta try the butter and cheese.

This would be perfect camp food for the 2024 elk hunt! God bless you Kent and Shannon!
If I were to substitute ground elk or venison for the beef, would I need to make any adjustments to the rest of the recipe?
This is truly comfort food right here. Thank you Mr Rollins
Thanks for reminding of my mom! She made this same meal on many occasions and we did indeed believe we lived in luxury!
God bless you, Mr. Kent and Mrs. Shannon Rollins! I absolutely adore your videos, and do my best to recreate your recipes at home. You seem like real salt of the Earth folk. Thank you for honoring our Veterans, would you possibly consider endorsing our first responders as well?

I used to have that all the time
at my granny's house.

and kraut and salmon patties
and peas and beans of all kinds and fried chicken and
tea cakes and pecan ( not any
pee can ) pies and chess pies
and all that simple good stuff.
Made a lot of soap to wash
with too ❤

This channel is what I believe real America is. Salute to you, sir.
Greetings from Russia.
Growing up in an Italian family in Brooklyn, N.Y., I learned early on to appreciate good food. I’ve always liked to cook. Since I do most of the cooking and we now live on our own little ranch in the Heart of Dixie, I’ve been able to expand my cooking skills to include a more diversified menu, so to speak. Your videos give me great ideas. Thanks so much.
Looks fantastic Kent! Been making gravy lately. I need to try this. Y'all have a great week! Cheers!
Hope you enjoy my friend and be safe
Kent that looks amazing. I make mine pretty close to that but didn't know about the Parmesan. I'm trying to tomorrow for sure. I have a little tip for the people in the family who love mushrooms. If you want, you can saute half a pound of mushrooms along with those onions and add a can of Golden Mushroom soup to the mix. They'll love you for it. Thanks for another fantastic recipe and I hope that you and Shan and the barkers are all doing great.
That sounds so good, we have a remake video of the Hungry Man Dinner that has a them mushrooms in that gravy
Made this hamburger steak last night… I did cut back the chuck to 1 lb (for two people) and adjusted the seasoning. But made the full compliment of gravy. Only change was adding some sliced portobello mushrooms to the gravy. Mashed potatoes and peas. Five star comfort food.
Happy Valentines Day to a great couple!!! 💕🇺🇸
Thanks Kent, great video as usual 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
I always do Sir!
