Love my Astro HE. They are hard to buy these days and they usually in the $120 range now. Still worth it. I'm a DIY and don't have a booth. I know Im going to buff the paint. For me, I know I don't need more gun than the Astro.
Subscribed. I love these techniques, i spray tub and tile for bathrooms, i really like the process for painting vehicles, thank you, completely new to you and your channel, excellent video, fantastic details
oy, I m going to have to sleep on this and watch it again, first thing in the AM. The sagola, iwata and 3m are really close pricewise to $400. On anotehr channel, they had a good result with a Master Elite Pro-44 (maybe 88 ??) from TCP Global (I forget who actually made it.) for like $200 as it comes with 3 tips. There are at least 7 cars/vans I would like to paint. Thanks for the video.
I have the 3m accuspray and the astro euro,I might add the kiwami to my collection, for bc/cc , but for any single stage like lacquer or acrylic enamel, a binks model 7 is the only gun to use
my friend is a professional truck body painter and he loves his Bink #7. He told me that 20+ years ago. He is like a ninja when he is in the zone painting.
Great video. I would love to see a more in depth comparison between the sagola and the iwata. I am planning on getting another gun and really want one that atomizes well for clear coat.
Thurs video will compare several guns (including the sagola) to the Iwata. Head to head that's a tough call both guns are great just layed down some slick clear with the Iwata today. The Sagola is hard to beat. Great all around gun with a huge fan pattern.
Love the channel brother tons of useful information thanks 👍have you heard of those Ntools spray guns that look similar to DV1 I'm wondering if anyone has used them and what they think about it?
I would like to ask i will need to spray pearl paint and clear. On the selection of the paint gun if the air flow requirement on the gun is same. But the pressure is 0.15 Mpa and 0.2 Mpa. Which one should I go for? And what is the difference between these? Hope you can answer my question thank you
Hi Chris 👋 hope your ok mate 👍 its a like from me I love the videos keep them coming are you doing one on paint stands and cut and buffing do you have to buff clear coat chris I have a bran new boxed kiwami 4 with the 1.3 and the BJA cap
I have a couple videos on cutting and buffing , working on another one in the next few weeks. Yes, It seems I always have to do a least a small amount of clean up . I think you'll like that paint gun. Thank's for the support!
Chris, i have a question regarding astro evot gun . Since it is considered (by astro pneumatic) as a LVLP gun, what typical setting do you run on it? Are those settings similar to R500?
Can you compare the 2 Astras? Does one have a better use case then the other? Also I can't find what feel like is trustworthy info on air usage for each. It sounds like the gold is basically an LVLP? Does the HE use significantly more than it? Thanks in advance!
Both guns are great, I haven't sprayed enough with the Iwata to give you an educated opinion. It's about 110 difference between the astro and Iwata. I think the Iwata is worth the extra money but it's closer than you might think. Hope this helps ask me again in a month.
@@Eli-iy2uk I've sprayed around 15 jobs with it. No issues with seals, the fan pattern hasn't changed, just need to make sure air passages remain clean.
Thank you once again GN, great video! Just a quick question, my compressor is 30 gallons so I spray base coat with an Astro hvlp gun and clear with a lvlp Sprayit 33000. It’s ok, but is there a good lvlp gun you would recommend for clear coats? Am I correct in going to a lvlp gun like I am?
The kiwami4 and wider4 from iwata use about the same amount of air as the r500. They both also atomize better than the r500 at lower pressure. The r500 cfm rating is not accurate. Another good gun with similar cfm requirements is ani f160.

Nice video you are the only person on here explain how to set your paint gun the correct way thank you sir
👍
We use the 3M Performance guns at work. They are easy to clean and shoot wonderful. I'd definitely recommend thier products.
Awesome gun!
Mikes from Jamaica love your teaching its good love it
Jamaica cool! Thanks for sharing and supporting the channel!
Howdie you are a good teacher ,trying to learn. Bruce
Thank you kindly

Thank's for the support! Spraying tub and tile, never tried that but was tempted a few times.

I would love to have the 3M gun. I think its the best and versatile for a DIYer at home. Hopefully I can get one this year. Thanks
It's pretty slick!
you can get the accuspray for about 200 and the 2.0 nozzles fit the gun as well,it works well for me
Great video GN - thanks for sharing. Have a good weekend :)

@@GarageNoise Hey would you recommend kiwami4 over the Astro Euro Pro HE?
@@maksimchukhanenko6850 I would go with the kiwami4 over the astor guns
@@GarageNoise Thank you! What about 1.3 tip vs 1.4 as general all around from primers to clears?
@@maksimchukhanenko6850 1.3 is a good all around tip. You can spray most primers woth a 1.3 but a 1.4 is preferable for prime.
Astro: 14cfm, kiwami4 7cfm...
Awesome channel content...thanks for sharing
the fan on the kiwami is atrocious makes it unusable on big jobs painting semis. lph 400 and w400 used to be my go tos for the big fans they had
I never thought it was that bad. Mines at least 10 inch fan.
Love the channel brother tons of useful information thanks 👍have you heard of those Ntools spray guns that look similar to DV1 I'm wondering if anyone has used them and what they think about it?
Thank's brother, no haven't heard anything about thr ntool . I'll have to check it out.

I'm not familiar with the conversion of mpa to psi.

Similar, I haven't sprayed it in awhile but the settings should be close , adjust if needed
Howdy nice the way you explained it
Thank's buddy! Appreciate the comment and support!

The evot13 the gold uses less cfm's than the he. Also has a slightly larger fan pattern and lower overspray . They are both great for the price.
Have you ever did a review on the KOTA spray gun
No I have not. I'll check it out
How would you compare the Iwata to the Astro EVOT? Which is a better gun? Better bang for the buck?

have you tried the NVE 1.3 Ntools? From what Ive seen this is supposed to be a good chinese copy gun!
Good Info...
Thanks! Appreciate the comment!
Have you ever tired a turbine gun when painting a vehicle I have a Fuji 5 stage and it saves a lot of material and has very little over spray
I've seen them used. Is it a nice finish? Definitely like to test one out.
Thanks for the video, I do have a ? Does the 3m tips have to be replaced after every use. How long does it last?
Tips last for a very long time as long as you keep them clean. It's really not even an issue and I'm pretty frugal, Lol . Thanks for watching brother!
which one would u use on solvent grey metallic hood? how does astro do on metallics on hoods? astro vs r500 on metallics ?
Both do great with metallic base but I would choose the r500 because of less overspray. Hope this helps appreciate the support!

Yes, the lvlp gun will use less cfm's. I don't have a recommendation for you haven't used too many. Maybe a future video.
Have u found a better low cfm gun than sprayit..
The kiwami4 and wider4 from iwata use about the same amount of air as the r500. They both also atomize better than the r500 at lower pressure. The r500 cfm rating is not accurate. Another good gun with similar cfm requirements is ani f160.
@@AA_Ron155what do you think about the Iwata W400lv WBX?
It’s supposed to spray at lower psi and do sealer, base and clear.
The wbx is my favorite gun. At lower pressure the over spray isn't bad, like 20-25psi. It just uses a fair bit more air than the lv2 or kiwami4.
solvent based or water based coatings??
Solvent 👍
That purple freighter is one bad ass cheap gun.
👍
