Great video as always. sorry I have a question which is not related to this video. when I drag a native Twinmotion object to the scene for example a table with chairs (a compound object) there is a parent child relationship to table and chairs which at first click I select the whole object and with second click I can select individual objects like chairs or plate on the table. and there is this parent child relationship with sketchfab objects also. but when I want to create my custom library I can not make this relationshiop between objects and when I want to move the whole thing I should select main container from scene graph. can you help me on that. thank you
Hi there! Sorry for the delay. I will try to recreate this this weekend and get back to you. I’ve never thought about this before, but my guess is it’s a setting in the scene graph.
Ok, so I tested this yesterday, and saw exactly what you mean. Sadly, I was unable to recreate the Parent/Child relationship between objects. I’ll keep looking into this though, as it may be a legacy feature not utilized now. Hopefully it’s not a developer only feature. I’ll let you know if I find anything, as this could be really useful!

I also tried different ways (making group in 3ds max before exporting and etc...) but could not recreate that parent child relationship for my custom library objects. It could be something from developer side because only containers from TM or Sketchfab objects have this behavior. I think this is really helpful feature if we could use it for our custom objects. maybe we should reach out to TM team. if you found the answer please let me know. really appreciate it.
Hi, thanks for the tut. Would an omni light with shadows not spread the light more accurately inside the pendant than a spotlight? I'm sure you've got a good reason though.
Jeremy, good question. The high scene were you referring to? I would need to check the scenes, but generally the Omni casts a 360 degree light, and this can lead to some unwanted results, even with attenuation. I’m on a little summer break now, but can check in a few days!

The Omni light casts light in all directions, so this would look accurate for example in an empty room lit by a single ceiling light bulb, but if the ceiling light was decorative, or had a design to it, an Omni light in TM may cast some really weird shadows higher up into the room or on the walls. Now, that is technically right, but visually not appealing. Some of these shadows may disappear as other light sources intersect with them, but others may not. The second reason is that the falloff tends to not be realistic. Even with attenuation, Omni's do not have a realistic light profile (IES), they are an older form of lighting, and were not intended in my mind to light whole scenes. In Older versions of TM and LUmion, they tended to blast light through walls, which looked bad. Of course, there are a lot of TM users who may totally disagree with me here, but these setups were hopefully beginner friendly! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
I very like Twinmotion a lot. The result of the image is amazing. But rendering video clips takes too long.(CORE17, RAM 32 GB, RTX3060) I have been using D5 Render for a couple of months, and yes, I get work done faster. To use Twinmotion, I probably need to upgrade my new GPU. Thank you for the help full tutorial love it.

They are in the most recent stable version: 2023.1.2 . I have not tested the new community version. But 'light shadow' also needs to be enabled with the tick box.
I will look into some sort of file hosting/sharing service. Not familiar with them now. It might not be possible for some scenes, but I’ll keep it mind going forward!
