I've been making your pecan pie recipe for probably close to 10 years now and it's a hit every time! I cut the corn syrup in half but it still all comes out beautifully. Still haven't braved making my own pie crust but maybe some day 🤗
@@undead9189 her recipe calls for a cup; I think there was an error in the recipe in the description box. It's half a cup each of brown and white sugar, and a cup of corn syrup.
@ewrightphoto Yes, I used what the recipe description calls for 1/2 C of brown and 1/2 C of white sugar and I also used the Caro syrup. You won't be disappointed making this recipe.

The description has cup of brown sugar where cup of light brown corn syrup should be listed so screwed that up. Plus I then forgot the corn starch so it's in the oven going to be a disaster I guess!😭 Next time I'm going the extra mile down to the store for a pre-made one🤣
I made your pie for Thanksgiving on Wednesday, I cooked it for an additional 13 minutes because it was still jiggly. I felt that it was done at that point. When I went to serve the pie yesterday it was super runny. I’m not sure what I did wrong, I followed your recipe but it didn’t look like your pie at all.
Ok I’ve been searching for the best recipe. I like that yours isnt runny but PLEASE fix the Karo omission or mix up. Also 2 tsp of vanilla seems like a lot?? Anyone?? I’m gonna use 1 and I’m guessing 1 c of Karo instead of another brown sugar

First of all, I appreciate you sharing your recipe. I purchased the ingredients listed on the description, and as I was making it, I realized that it was not accurate. You had three kinds of sugar there and didn't list corn syrup. I had to look at the printed recipe link to double check, and the light brown sugar was supossed to be the corn syrup. I wish you also wrote what temperature to preheat the oven because I had to listen to the video again to find out what temperature and it was not easy to find. Also, would be nice to know how to know when the pie is done. I had to view a different video for tips. Pie is in the oven as we speak and hope it turns out good. Thanks again
Never, ever have I had to butter my pie plate. There’s so much butter in the crust itself that there is no sticking and if you butter the sides of the pie plate , especially for a one crust pie the sides of your pie crust are going to have a tendency to slough down a bit…trust me on this one
A pecan pie is one pie I can never make. I have tried one but it never set. This one looks awesome and sounds simple to make I'm just not sure it would help me.

Putting half the corn syrup still comes out ok you don’t add anything else. I would like to do that we have diabetes but they love pecan pie

I like the addition of corn starch so there won’t be any runny parts! Just put it in the oven!

Even HFCS is just 45% glucose + 55% fructose as opposed to regular corn syrup or sucrose which are closer to 50% glucose + 50% sucrose…

Vanilla extract is mostly alcohol. If it's stored properly it really doesn't go bad per se.
