I was raised on the comic genius of George Carlin and in turn, raised my Daughter with the same comic influence and taught her of the legend of "Uncle George". Got to meet the Man twice at shows in San Diego at "Humphreys By The Bay". Super cool dude. I watched as others stepped up to greet him and of course, they all had to say some humorous line that George wrote. I realized how ridiculous it was to do such a thing so I just shook his hand and said, "Hello Mr. Carlin. It's absolute honor to meet you." After a short 4 to 5 minute conversation, he ended with, "Don't ever lose your sense of humor." Words to live by. I have made it my life's goal to be Carlin's ghost and to carry that with me throughout my life in the hope of keeping his memory alive and to distribute his thoughts and ideas as I go along. George left us over 14 years ago. As of today there isn’t anyone close to his observations. All comics have a space in their careers where things come together. George had his low points as well. But when he got it right no comedian has been close. The majority of George’s work didn’t insult us. He did do some pathetic fart jokes. It also seems some comedians have two acts to choose from. People seem to laugh more and easier when you have alcohol in you. This is the reason that many shows enforce a two drink minimum. COME BACK TO THE STAGE GEORGE, WE NEED YOU NOW MORE THEN EVER!

I really like this comment. My take on common sense is that it was common sense a long time ago when there was still some critical thinking in the world. I've followed GC since he became known on the comedy scene. No one ever referred to him as crazy. Most people agreed that he was ahead of the times. The material that George started with became quite commonplace in the world of comedy after George got the ball rolling.
