Thanks for the video. I live in Denver Colorado (Lone Tree). I have an 03 LS430 with 52000 on the clock. It's also an Ultra. Other options include, the upgraded Interior Package which includes Semi Anilin Leather Trim, Chrome wheels, and even the gold package for the exterior emblems. It's black on black with the dark Maple Walnut Trim. I understand the wood came from Yamaha. The Ritz Hotel was actually the inspiration for the interior of the car. I own several other cars including a couple of recent models so the LS is not a daily driver but what pleasure it is when I go for a drive. I am amazed how well the LS430 has held up. No question the LS 430 is one of the best cars ever built. Get one, and take care of it and it will run for ever.
These cars are my guilty pleasure. They are getting up there in years and tech is dated by today's standards, as is the interior look. Yet I still find myself always looking for one and thinking of selling my IS350 for one. They are just so good.
The thing is with something like this, you could keep your IS350 and daily an LS430 and if you take good card of it, it'll appreciate in value 😉. Think about it, daily a V8 and keep something fun.
Superb car the fact it drives great and everything works is testament to how well built they are a Mercedes this age would have plenty of problems and faults .
John, these are exceptional cars. I temporarily had a new one back in 2000 and they really are a quality and reliability step ahead of contemporary MB and BMW luxo barges, great review, thanks
they are, the fact so many still work and on the roads. I imagine many owners don't want to part with them (unless these fuel prices in the UK keep jumping up)
Great video. I just got myself a 2004 UL package and can't believe how it drives. The air ride is amazing and still reasonable cost for the struts. Coming from a Mercedes clk270 to this, there is no comparison. I'll be keeping this tank as long as possible.
I would be interested to see if this is a real ultra. To my knowledge the ultra came with every option. This seems like my LS which is a custom luxury, where owners could pick and choose which options they wanted.
@@JohnsGarageIreland wow thats really cool that it was missing some of the options. My custom luxury is a face lifted last year 06. Its missing the air ride, rear ultra seats but it has everything else, alcantara, keyless go, soft close, marklevinson, GPS, radar cruise
Fantastic video on the Lexus LS, this Ultra is very special! I believe road tax in ROI is very expensive compared to the UK? (I have a buddy in Larne who was chatting to me about it over the weekend)
Our 2001 LS430 has 280,000 miles (450K kms). Getting new tires this week as I fully expect it to last for their lifetime. And, yes, our car passed the champagne glass on the motor test. ruclips.net/video/2VjnEPlw9c0/видео.html
The depth of quality is there, they're built to last a lifetime. However you don't hear as much now about the special dealer customer care so I wonder have they scaled that back. Everyone used to be treated like royalty at one time
@@JohnsGarageIreland We're in North America. Dealerships, whichever the brand, are the last place you want to take your out-of-warranty car. We take ours to an independent mechanic who worked at a Lexus dealership before he set out on his own. Liked your review!
Good independent garages and mechanics are a must here to as cars age out but there are some great main dealers too but it can be very much brand dependent. Luckily here a lot of main dealers are still family run businesses.
It is an Ultra. Irish market examples didn't have it fitted. It's registered as an ultra and the first owner has made contact, former MD of Toyota/Lexus Ireland. You should at least know all the facts before commenting 😉
nice video. but go back to where you put the glass on the engine and rev'd it. Just listen to that ! Supposed to be a V8 - soulless. And I dont care what you say, the dash around the radio area looks like a plastic Ryanair seatback not a 'luxury hotel' The bad thing about the Toyota parts is.... it looks and feels like a Toyota inside.
I don't agree. The car is all about refinement and luxury. It's not trying to be anything else. It's purely for wafting in comfort without any disturbance

Every backdoor mechanic in Dubai knows these ls430 inside out, everyone in Dubai seems to own one 😍
Brilliant car and rarely go wrong. Smart mechanics know a good car.
so true!! or the land cruiser/lx models

I own 3rd gen of this car 2005 model. It's still running smooth and comfy. A real quiet cabin and premium driving experience.
very nice, mine is a 2004

Really gives me confidence in their cars, the quality is really there.
they are really well built

The solidity of everything after 20 years is incredible. Nowhere had any wear or signs of use. Very well engineered and built

Lovely engine in these, I put a 4.3 into my Toyota Soarer, a nice upgrade from the 4.0
I understand that with a few exhaust mods these engines can be made sound incredible

John a good review, Would like to see you review a ls460 & 600hl & this 430 all together
For your impressions
I'd love to do it but it would be hard to get them together!
I enjoyed that. One of my all time favorite cars.
Thanks John. Make sure to spread the word!
they are great
Great video John, Tom off FB here
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it 😊
Thank you for the Well done video.
Thanks for watching 👀
I remember this car around Stradbally, Laois when new. Think I've seen it near Donnybrook/Ballsbridge more recently...
I could be wrong but it's been in Nenagh all winter but you're right about Stradbally. Current owner purchased it from near there.
@@JohnsGarageIreland Could be a couple of years ago the way time goes but nearly sure I saw it outside a house near Donnybrook...

It's a real Ultra as verified by its logbook and Lexus Ireland.

Yep, road tax is about €1800 per annum.......if it was on CO2 based tax it would be about €2200 per annum. Its insanity.....
@@JohnsGarageIreland That is very expensive! I am about £350 a year for my SC430 in Scotland
@@RevLexus it's nuts how expensive it is. Motoring costs here are very high if you want nice cars.
ONE ULTRA SOLD FOR $40'000 HERE IN THE USA, AND THE ULTRAS ARE GOING UP IN PRICE 🫖
Theyre slow to rise here, if you can tolerate a right hand drive you'd get one for 4 figures
Lovely

Prefer the earlier models the mark.3 looked very bland.
The squarer look was very classy. In my eyes it's still a solid looking piece of design
Not an ultra . First clue no navigation. You should at least know all the features.
