I own a 2006 and it is probably the most reliable, comfortable, highway cruiser, and all around great daily driver. Mine just turned 200k and the motor still runs like new. It is INSANELY smooth and the power is still there.
What would be the average cost to replaced the timing belt? Mines is coming up soon. I wish you was closer to my area so I can take my car to you but am down in Florida. Love your content.
@@josecuascut7123 *Well at least FL is closer than Ukraine. In past videos Ahmed had cars in for repair having CA, AZ, TX, Deep South and FL plates...*
I absolutely love my '05 LS430. I'm the second owner purchased with 37k miles 5 years ago. Mine was only serviced at a Lexus dealership and I'm continuing that tradition. I loved it so much I bought a '97 LS400. My LS400 passes California smog emissions as clean as the day it was built. I don't know how that's even possible, but it does.
Grandma had a LS430 and covered 50000 miles untill she crashed into another. The magistrate had sympathy but took her license at 96. The insurance paid out she could get another car provided she gets a driver, she took a GS300 and I drove her for 15000 miles when her ticker gave in. We buried Ma but the Lexus stillngoes flawlessly bequeathed to me.
I own a 2005 LS430. I bought it used in 2010 and found that the owner had let the dealership maintain it. So, I have let that same dealership maintain it. Everything is on the dealership's maintenance list. It has over 230,000 miles on it. Best car I have ever owned. If anything on one side goes out, I buy the dealers replacement parts for both sides, no matter the cost. I replace the battery every two years regardless. The Air Force taught me, if you take care of something, it will take care of you. They have B52's still flying from the Vietnam era because they take care of them. I intend to keep taking care of this car, because I cannot find a replacement for it that has as much headroom, rides as quietly or feels as comfortable to ride in. One thing I love is when I pop the transmission from 6th to 4th gear and press the accelerator, this car will leave any situation in your rear view mirror. BTW the rear view mirror, does not work and was way too expensive, that is the only item I refused to change out. I can live without its night feature. I hear people say they love a car, but I always tell people this car loves me! It treats me so well. I will always let the dealerships take care of it.
@@MartinThePanda IKR? Such a weird example. Not only do they massively overspend but even then their mission ready airplanes average out at a little over 50%.
I’m at never ceases to amaze me. I owned a 2002 LS400 from 2008 to 2023 and it was the best car I ever had in all of my years of driving. I got to know it very well but this guy takes the cake. Kudos to the car care nut!
I have had a 2005 LS 430 bought 6 yrs ago from the original 94-year-old owner with just under 100,000 miles. It has been an absolutely perfect car for me, not one complaint and I intend to keep it more or less forever. You are very enjoyable to watch. Thank you.
That’s my favorite color of all time on any car! I had a 1979 Thunderbird heritage edition whos paint was very close, I almost cry when I see old pictures of it😊. I’m envious!
@@shanechostetler9997 My dad bought my mom the same exact car the 1979 T- Bird Heritage Edition Maroon brand new with T-Tops. 351 Windsor engine, C6 transmission. I sold it 2 years ago.
After finding this channel I abandoned the search for a nice RX350 when I was completely distracted by a pristine 2003 LS430. 91K miles, not a UL, non-NAV, Black over Tan completely stock. Complete maintenance records from day one, dealer serviced for the first 5 years then DIY after that by a guy who is even more particular than I am. New timing belt, pulley, idler, water pump, rotors and pads times 4 and door locks times 4. I will continue to DIY as long as I am physically able. I am licensed to maintain my own airplane and it gets serviced by the book, this will be no different. I am really looking forward to working on and driving this fine machine.
I just wanted to say - you have inspired me to get back to wrenching on cars again. I own a 2001 LS430 with 200k miles and it started out with spark plugs and coils, which I found the valve cover oil leak, which led me to fixing that. My friends would dog on me about my Miata sitting and rotting away. Ditched those friends, reset myself with wrenching, and it’s because of this channel. Cheers!
Fun fact: lexus was given a blank check from Toyota when designing the ls400. They used every cent to make great. What a sick car. Reliable as hell and comfortable with decent power. It's perfect 😀
I don't always listen to Ahmed talk about things to know when shopping for a Lexus LS, but when I do, all my neighbors do too. Loud and proud. Well done, good sir. We all appreciate your knowledge, skill, and ability. Cheers from Oregon!
I currently have 04 Ls430 and 2019 ls500 f sport. Had a 2015 ls460. Ls430 is my favorite out of all of them. I can get rid of all them but the 430. Its so comfortable and quiet. Solid and built like a tank. Pleasure to have owned this gem.
My father had one of the ‘04 LS430’s he bought new, sold it to my aunt when it had 275k miles, it now has 380k and nothing has ever broke on it - the water pump was replaced preemptively. Other than that just regular maintenance. The power delivery is so smooth, it feels like my 2013 ES300h.
I have always the exact same experience with my 2004 LS430, literally nothing has ever broken on it, just maintenance stuff. 20 years old this year. Gotta be a record. I know it topped out as JD Power's most reliable car ever but even then sounds like our 2004 models have been exceptionally reliable. Oh but I've only about 110km on mine though so not even 1/6th of yours.
just drove about 1000k miles today for my ls430 thats been sitting for 5 years with 275k miles. 1 owner .. i have a crashed 05 ls430 that cant be straightened so im swapping my ultra luxury interior . motor and trans into a high mileage 2004 sport ls430. these videos are helping me out so much!!!
One my closest friends owns an '05 Sport in Crystal White with a little over 34,000 miles on it; it belonged to his late father who was the original owner. Once you step inside, there's a very distinctive smell of leather and everything is so nicely put together. We regularly maintain her based on the time interval over mileage and just got a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires in 245/45R18 flavor. She remains an all-original garage queen.
I have been closely following auction sales and the low mileage ones are showing significant appreciation. No doubt the amazing number of RUclips videos about how great these cars are is having an impact on the marketplace.
Purchased a 2005 LS430 ML w/ 110k miles. Drives like a dream. Prefer driving it over my ‘23 ES350 UL. The LS has a tighter turning radius, and even with the V8 gets better highway gas mileage. Lexus, the endless pursuit of perfection.
I recently bought a 2005 LS 430 that was babied. I’ve had newer, more expensive cars. Nothing compares. Just did a 6000 mile road trip. Incredible cruiser
Got a 45k miles 2004 Sport Package with all CL options, all of them. I love this car. I used to own a Ls400 1991 and now I have the upgrade. Never selling mine
I owned an 06' LS430 ul for over 10 years. The only part i had to replace was an alternator. Replaced in myself in 20mins. Hands down the very best vehicle I've ever owned.
E39 540i owner here with 200,000 miles(199,xxx and counting) and I came to the same conclusion watching this. Everyone makes a massive deal out of the BMW M62 needing the timing chain and guides done, but they're a 150k to 200k mile item. But yet the posterchild of reliability the LS430 needs timing belts done just as often. Enjoy what you love! And take care of it!
I love it that even tho im not a mechanic myself, your explanations about different aspects are so easily understandable. I've been interested in this generation of LS but they are not very common in Europe.
Had a 2002 430 for awhile. Unfortunately, my son decided to see how the car did rear-ending another car. Probably should have kept it, but insurance wanted to total it. The 3UZ was so smooth, even compared to my '99 SC400. You're making me want to buy another.
0:38 I have all 3 of these in this shot. LOL, love my Lexuses (Lexii)? My Lexus vehicles. I've been meaning to do a video on the difference between the facelift and pre-facelift for 2 years now. Glad someone got around to it!
In high school I worked at a dealership an my boss had a 05 ls430 Sport silver I would wash it an gas it up every Friday that car is amazing Then He got a LS460 it was a beast also I want one I can afford one and I have a house with a garage now to put it away💯
Thanks and Blessings. We have the LS430 Ultra 2004, and now I have some service maintenance concerns, even at 120,000 with all original parts. Still has been the best and most luxurious vehicle we have ever owned. This is why I am reluctant to sell or trade because it's a fantastic vehicle that was one owner previously owned, and we've had it for 60,000+ miles. Yes, maintenance is expensive, and so are the parts if you can find them.
Love your channel & videos brother. Have owned 5 Lexus, and a Tundra in the past decade. Recently purchased an 05 LS because of you. Keep going, you’re one of the best out there. Cheers.
I got super lucky finding my one owner 2006 with 77k on it back in 2017. Texas only car, non-nav that is Crystal White over Ash. Added a double DIN stereo with backup camera, the Ultra Racing rear sway bar, and a few other things. It's at 110k now and it's been such a treat. These cars are just amazing once you get them on the highway and they will cruise at 100mph or more without issue.
Please do a video on the 2nd generation Lexus GS 400! I have a 2000 GS 400 & absolutely am in love with the vehicle. I’d love to hear you talk about this vehicle! Basically a smaller body LS with same engine. At that time at least
I was a proud owner of the 2005 LS430 (my wife drove it mostly). It was a beautiful car and we had it for 3+ years before disaster struck. It's exactly the same issue with all the electronic in the rear trunk area that you mentioned around 15:30 in the video. My wife was stopped at the left turn light when a high schooler drove too fast and change lane but hit the car right side bumper. I thought it will be an easy bumper change. Unfortunately that hit all the computers and electronics on the lower right portion of the car. The repair was $18-22K (quoted from 3 different repair shops) and the insurance decided to total the car. It was very sad for us to part with that Lexus just from a bumper accident. It is, like you said, one of the most beautiful and reliable Lexus we ever owned.
I bought my LS430 back in December of 2022, I've owned a GS430 and an LS460, and neither of those cars comes close to the feel and drive this car outputs. I have owned several other cars and I have never experienced the urge to get another car of the same model. This is the car to own, it is the ultimate luxury car to be in, that won't completely break your pockets.
Thank you for the nice complement on the Black Cherry Pearl LS430! I'm looking forward to enjoying it once TCCN Automotive completes the timing belt and other maintenance.
@@dennisg5438 it’s a car worth investing the $$ in, as you well know. I’d never clapped eyes on a Sport version until that day. Can’t remember-- it’s different suspension and brakes?
Boy, those LS 430s you have are gorgeous! Back in 2000, I bought a 1996 LS 400 and it was such a phenomenal car. Perhaps I was lucky, but I didn't really have any major issues with it in the four years I owned it. Now, in hindsight, I wish I'd have kept it. Of course, I also wish I'd kept my 1993 Honda Accord EX Sedan that I traded for the Lexus. Two different vehicles, of course, but I loved the Accord, too. Both vehicles were near flawless inside and out. _sigh..._ Anyway, thank you for this video. I'm only about 1/4 of the way through it, but I wanted to express my thanks for your time, effort, and sharing your experience and expertise. I'm glad I found your channel.
I was walking down the street the other day and a cracked out homeless guy was screaming that he was the son of God. Moral of the story is, people say all kinds of crazy stuff. 😏
I owned a 2005 LS430 for 7.5 years and it was my favorite care I've owned. Never had any big issues when I owned it. I now own a 2013 AWD LS460 for a year and it's creeping up to be my favorite over the LS430. I haven't seen a review from the Car Care Nut and wanted to hear what the possible major issues would be with the 2013 if anything arise. I seen the review on the 2010 which I also owned and I really disliked that version and your videos confirmed everything I was dealing with at that moment. Please do a review on that model if one comes into your shop anytime soon. I love your reviews!
Nice! What do you consider the noticeable differences day to day with the 430 compared to your now 460? Is the ride pretty much the same or quality? Or one better that the other in those areas?
The only thing I didn’t agree with regarding a reason to avoid the ultra luxury being the air suspension. There is no conversion kit needed to swap to the conventional shocks and springs. I’ve had a pre-facelift and a facelift where the air suspension started to go and the normal suspension bolts up without any modifications. So don’t let that part deter you.
I own a 2004 "SC 430" with 57K on the clock. ALL service work has been done with my car. LIke anything else, preventive maintenance and staying with the recommended service schedule will keep you and your Lexus happy for many miles down the road. Probably the highest expensive I've had has been the Timing Belt , Water Pump, and the pulleys. Although I also had a Oxygen Sensor that melded to my Manifold that had to be drilled off, which was horribly expensive. Both of these separate costs at my Lexus dealership was about $3000.00 a piece. Yes, I could have saved money by using an independent mechanic or using non-factory parts. But, I didn't want problems with aftermarket parts. Plus, going through a Lexus dealer gave me a little more piece of mind. I LOVE my Lexus! It makes for a GREAT Palm Springs California car! Additionally, I've been thinking about adding another Lexus to my garage - an RX 350. I might be biased, but I believe there is a great value with the Lexus brand and product. Great review!
Having owned a 1994 Toyota Celsior from 2006 to 2021 I finally managed to find an excellent 2004 Celsior with 77,000 miles. Already converted from air to springs with the Strutmaster kit and fitted with a factory stainless steel exhaust system.
@@flygyro8 Having never driven an AS LS430 I can’t say but I did also own another 1994 Celsior with air, compared to my spring based one this floated over the local speed humps. The only other car I owned that came close was a Citroen XM with the hydro pneumatic suspension.
I am very close to buying a 2005 LS 430 and this video scared me only a little bit, but knowledge is power. Thank goodness for mild, California climates.
I just finished a 5,000 mile road trip around America in my 2001 LS 430. I changed the alternator half way through the trip because the original one was starting to fail. Amazing cars but they do need to be maintained to last.
My wife has a 2006 sport with no navigation. Just replaced the alternator, which was first failure since we bought it. It has 125000 miles and my wife refuses to even consider getting a new car. She HATES screens and modern dash. She loves the cassette player and cd changer and other than quiet and smooth ride the best feature is super tight turning circle. Remember this was designed for Japanese use with small streets.
Once again one of the most informative and insightful automotive channels in all of RUclips. Those of us in the Toyota/Lexus community appreciate you BIGLY!!!!!!!! Currently have a 2001 GS300 which I greatly enjoy (love that era) and looking to add either a GS430 or LS430 to the stable by the end of the year. Hey, by the way..... how about an overview of the GS300 versus GS430?
9:40 correction: the 01-03 pre facelift came with xenon lights, the 04-06 facelift came with bi-xenon lights. Most people interchange those two but they are two very different things. Even the HID bulbs themselves are not interchangeable. Bi-xenon means that the exact projector that houses the low beam also acts as high beam, by moving a shield inside. That shield is also what creates the shape of the cut-off line of the low beam.
I absolutely love the 2nd gen LS. It's definitely my favorite LS of all time. I remember building a 2006 LS online in Briarwood Pearl with the saddle interior and antique walnut trim. What a beautiful car. This was back when Toyota and Lexus actually made appealing cars and not the taxicabs they have become these days.
@@timomomomo969 they are taxicabs now. The other day I sat in a new Crown Platinum which is the replacement to the flagship Avalon (which the older ones I find as nice as some Lexus models even). And it’s a taxicab. All black interior (and its the only option it seems, pleather seats that aren’t even nice looking, but probably durable, only hybrid drivetrain now (perfect for city driving like taxicabs do) and no new car smell in it. My Cadillac XT5 has a new car smell in it but my 2016 Rav4 never did. Granted this is probably Toyota trying to use low VOC materials but come on. Not even a new car smell? Literally all of the appeal has been engineered out and in its place ideal items for a buyer base of Uber drivers and Taxi and Limousine businesses. They can’t even make their own sports cars anymore and have to turn to BMW or Subaru to make one. Its too bad. Like Regular Car Reviews said. The Japanese brands have gone from cars you desire getting to appliances that serve no other purpose. The only exception is Mazda and maybe Subaru if they ditch their stupid CVTs. You want anything remotely appealing these days you have to turn to the Koreans, Americans, or shell out money for something German.
One of if not the goat. I own a 98 GS 400 triple black very well taken care of with upgrades and vwey tasteful. 3k miles a year daily driven , just hit 160k, ill never sell it

My 2004 ultra has 333000 miles on it. Only have a couple of issues. Sat navigation doesn't work so need to look at fuse box. A previous owner sorted the rear silencer issue not by lexus standards. Got a 3" straight pipe from Y pipe at front of car to a big bore silencer at the back. Start up cold rattles windows. Once started is actually quite quiet. Interior has stood the test of time very well apart from wear to drivers and front passenger seat. Have air suspension with height adjustment and a sport mode. You can feel the difference when driving. This was the first lexus that I have ever driven or owned. Did the boot check as recommended by car care nut. Mine are dusty so need a hoover out. Bought it for ridiculously cheap price with the knowledge I would have to spend a bit on it. Came with all new brakes and tyres around. Suspect brakes are not OEM but work well. Recent maintenance carried out by a lexus dealer only highlighted 3 issues. Leaking core plug, torn steering rack boot and loss of fins on air con condenser. Maintenance was a 10 year service new cambelt, pulleys, tensioner and radiator (no issues showing). Lexus techs had never seen a lexus with over 300,000 miles on one. It was certainly a positive conversation with them and they are keen to see it back when I need more maintenance done. Valet by dealer brought up the paint work to an amazing standard looked like new. All this shows how much time Toyota/Lexus designers etc put in to building what at the time was the perfect saloon and has stood the test of time extremely well.
I've been a BMW dealer tech for 15 years, and for a few reasons I've decided I want my next car to be an LS430, and this video was very helpful and relatable. I would love to do a video like this for people who are looking to buy various BMWs. You have a great presentation style and this was very informative
I just recently bought my Lexus LS430 and I was so much better prepared because of the advice Car Care Nut has given us on this channel. A pre-purchase inspection saved me from buying problem cars, helped me negotiate a fair price on this one, and most importantly gave me peace of mind. Because of the pre-purchase inspection, I knew before purchasing that I needed to spend money on a timing belt, leaking valve cover, brakes, and the 60,000 mile maintenance items (spark plugs, fluid changes). That didn't bother me at all, I saw it as an opportunity to negotiate a better price, and to ask one of the best shops in the world to do my car's first wave of significant maintenance. So it was a pleasure this morning to see my Black Cherry Pearl Sport on stage in this video waiting for its turn at the expert and honest care offered by TCCN Automotive. I'd also like to pass on one little trick I learned. It may have been suggested in this forum before, but just in case it wasn't, if you create an account at lexus.com/My-Lexus, you can add the VIN of the Lexus you are interested in to your account and see that car's maintenance history. CARFAX didn't show maintenance records on this car, but the Lexus site had records from day one. Thanks to all who posted comments on this car, they are fun to see and informative. My wife and I hope to enjoy our Black Cherry Pearl (official color name) LS430 for years to come. (She will make us some Black Cherry Rum Zombies to sip in celebration of its homecoming.)
Wow how cool. Smart pre purchase inspection. I have an 05 Mercedes S500 I got in 2014. Money pit German car. Engine and transmission solid. Every thing else broke or replaced or repaired. Estimate 20k in repairs and maintenance in 8 years.😢
I’m looking at a 2006 LS430 on Tuesday with 219,000 miles and I will be taking it to Lexus for a pre-purchase inspection. How much did it cost you and how long did it take?
Great video, and its awesome to hear from a definitive authority, which clearly you are. My sister has an '01 she bought certified, pre-owned at 2 years old. She has kept it up, and still runs and looks great.
I am South African, 77, and am loving your series of servicing the 600,000 mile Lexus 430. I have 2 left hands, love cars, but am useless at fixing them! So I admire your amazing magic. 🇿🇦🇿🇦.
I owned a 2001 Ls 430 Ultra and yes it was the quietest smooth riding car . Before I had the 1991 Ls 400, and now have a 2010 LS 460 and yes the LS 430 rides better and a lot quieter. I drove my 1991 for 325000 miles before going to the 430,and had 225000 miles on the 430,before going to the 460. I have 120000 on my 2010 and would love to have another 430, with the Mark Levision system and the cassette player in it. Yes I still have some old school music, and some on 8 track HaHa
I was out this morning in my 05 LS430, and playing cassette tapes from the late 60s up to the 80s. Takes me back to 1978 when I had a Ford Granada Ghia 2.8 injection in gold. What a car, but nothing like an LS430. Lexus make the best cars ever ! I missed out on the LS400 when it came out and envy you with 30 years of Lexus motoring.
Thanks for the info.. The problem with the LS 430 and LS 460 is that these are cars are about 20 plus years old.. Very hard to find a good one. And time just takes a toll on even these cars.. Unless Toyota (by some miracle) decided to make these again - if they ever did, they need to make them EXACTLY the same - same dimensions, same traditional dashboard, shifter, controls.. And no turbos and don't try to make them more "sporty".. I would certainly would buy one.
@@kmatax9237 I agree with you.. They still are asking a lot for good Lexus/Toyota used vehicles. Even a "good" older Lexus's can have problems because of time, age, gravity, rust, etc. It would be great if somehow Lexus/Toyota came out with a few "new" classic models - and made them exactly the same as the way they were made before. I think they would sell well..
You really put a whole lot into perspective there Mr. Car Care, I do like those LS sedans though. However maintaining a Toyota properly these days is not cheap either. I'll take an easy pass on that LS premium hike. Plus the premium fuel cost and mileage is more than plenty. The Toyota is perfectly fine for daily use in my book. The Black Cherry LS there could be a very nice weekend car to keep around in better times as I would have to keep it immaculate because that car deserves it.
I prefer driving older vehicles, both mine are currently 20 plus years old Dodges(Durango and Dakota). They've been in the family since 2006. I've always loved the Lexus LS, especially the post face lift. Thanks to you I know what to watch for 😊
I'm an uncertified mechanic with experience😊. SINCE YOUR A Toyota NUT I WILL TELL YOU WHAT TODAY I DID. My family car collection consists of a black 2009 Lexus is250 belonging to the sister. Mother has a white 2009 corolla s which I just put in NGK iridium X plugs and running super smooth because the engine was missing. And I have the Maroon 1998 Tacoma 2wd with the 2rzfe which I changed the motor oil also today with Pennzoil ultra platinum which is my favorite oil. All vehicles running like day one even though they are old.. The best car is the ones that's payed off and you maintain and they are Toyota#1 😮👍
Man those are so nice. I have 2017 Ls460 and love it but the Ls430s are just too sweet . Your videos are so good and informative . I’ve watched many and enjoyed them all . Keep up the great work.
I love the GS430 just a little bit more than the LS. Its more sporty, confortable, drives like a smaller car, and still silky smooth bc it has the same engine as the LS.
The facelift LS430 (2004-2006 ) and the facelift SC430 (2006-2010) are two of my favorite Lexus ever. If I could find a mint 2005-2006 LS430 in Crystal White or Cypress Pearl with the Ultra Luxury package I would buy in a heartbeat. Can you review a 2003-2005 GS430? That's another one I'm trying to find in good shape.
This guy is amazingly well-spoken and articulate. Even more impressive in that (i'm guessing from the accent) that English is his second language. I wish he was in the Tampa Bay Area. 2006 LS430 ML. 124k.
Love the LS430 and this was another great informative video. Maybe when i retire in 5 years i'll move into an 05-06 and sell my 2002 ES300 which now has 178k trouble free miles (im the 2nd owner). great points on the 'cycling' of repairs needed. the dark cherry one with only 57k miles needs the most work because its time to replace parts.
I'm still enjoying my '94 Lexus ls400 Anniversary Edition sedan. May be, I get '05 next. All and all, great videos on knowledge on Lexus. Thank you for your principles.
You don't have to remove the AC compressor to do the timing belt job just bend the little metal bracket that goes over the radiator fan/idler bracket and you're good to go
I miss my 2004 LS every day. I found it at 36k miles and enjoyed it until 77k miles. That is until a underage, unlicensed, not insured kid turned left in front of me and ended it. I still sold it to a guy who rebuilt it and supposedly it's still on the road to this day. It was the finest car I've ever owned. Every bit of it was upper class. What a damn fine automobile.
Thanks as always for your informative and brilliant videos, AMD. After seeing that now-very old school Lexus commercial (again) the other day, it certainly makes me want to grab an LS4xx. As a combination of wanting some understated luxury and also because I doubt I could bring myself to buy a new/recent Lexus. 😁
I fell in love with these Lexus vehicles when I was on a federal narcotics task force. I saw one that was confiscated by DEA. Now after all these years, I still love these fine Japanese vehicles. I returned from overseas with a new respect for Toyota/Lexus.
I didn't have to take out my radiator on my 06 ls 430 timing belt kit replacement it's got 87,436 Miles on it, this is the best car in the world ever made 💯💥
@@mvic_17t I totally get it they Toyota ones hold up the absolute best. My buddy’s got a 2008 Corolla with 205,000 miles, was a pizza delivery car, but the drivers seat bolster has virtually NO wear even with all that mileage getting in and out delivering. I swear, they really knew how to build those 9th gen Corollas. Today’s car seats are all frayed and ripped once they get that mileage
I had an opportunity to buy a 2001 year model with 50-60k mile one for 5k as a first car from a family friend. That thing was mint aside from the paint on the rims and was a grandma spec car. Was abt to buy but she sold it to a family member. Still happy with my reliable Subaru, but man, I still am somewhat sad that I missed an once in lifetime opportunity
As an aspiring LS430 driver, I absolutely loved this video. Seemed very thorough. I expect to have more peace of mind now in my search as I am now more educated. The one I'm currently looking at has something wrong with the telescoping steering wheel. Not sure if it's an expensive fix or whether it's common on these.
I wouldn't say it's "one of the best." More like THE BEST sedan ever made.

My friend, now deceased, wanted to replace his low mileage '06 burgundy LS430 with something newer. Glad he kept it until his last breath.
How much have the repairs cost total for you?
@@OcaOca About the same as the budget for the Air Force.
@@MartinThePanda IKR? Such a weird example. Not only do they massively overspend but even then their mission ready airplanes average out at a little over 50%.
Nice, but...🤔🤔 How much ... does your wife love you ( as you believe)?

This guy is obviously an expert. I have an 04 with 130 k. Glad I found this channel.
He appears to be very knowledgeable about Lexus and Toyota after having worked for them for years.

I’m envious!

such beautiful paint
Hi, May I ask how much do you pay for your 2003 LS 430? Thanks!
Cheers!

My 2006 LS 430 has 340,000 miles on it and I love it! This video was outstanding! This guy clearly knows his Lexus details.
Fun fact: lexus was given a blank check from Toyota when designing the ls400. They used every cent to make great. What a sick car. Reliable as hell and comfortable with decent power. It's perfect 😀
I just picked up a 01 UL and wow. They live up to all the hype. This baby is here to stay. Your information helped me decide to make the purchase.

I don't always listen to Ahmed talk about things to know when shopping for a Lexus LS, but when I do, all my neighbors do too. Loud and proud. Well done, good sir. We all appreciate your knowledge, skill, and ability. Cheers from Oregon!
I will never sell my 05 moonlight pearl. It has the factory 18’s and the modern luxury pkg + smart key. 170k miles and it runs amazing… so smooth.

Does he take it on road trips recently and has it had any issues passing smog?
@@DevonDavies-p7flike I said, he sold it to my aunt. We don’t have emissions testing where I live (Virginia)

I have a 2001 ls430 2001 with 377,000 miles. Just regular maintenance. Original starter and alternator. Original engine and transmission.
I was wondering how long the starter lasts because now that's a job to fix on this car
@japanwatchconnectiontoo true! The Lc500 is probably the closest thing since.
when I had one I'd get about 20mpg, same as I get on the RX350L now. This car and SC400 were rock solid

Keep going, you’re one of the best out there.

facelift LS430 is just beautiful .. no doubt most robust vehicle .
Very sorry
I bought my LS430 back in December of 2022, I've owned a GS430 and an LS460, and neither of those cars comes close to the feel and drive this car outputs. Boy, those LS 430s you have are gorgeous! Back in 2000, I bought a 1996 LS 400 and it was such a phenomenal car.
The dark burgandy one is gorgeous
I’ve had my 01 for 8 months. 154k miles. I Daily drive it and haven’t had any issues pop up at all
The only thing I didn’t agree with regarding a reason to avoid the ultra luxury being the air suspension. There is no conversion kit needed to swap to the conventional shocks and springs. I’ve had a pre-facelift and a facelift where the air suspension started to go and the normal suspension bolts up without any modifications. So don’t let that part deter you.
I'm sure there's a spring somewhere in this world that fits just check the measurements
There are conversion kits out there actually.
How smooth is the ride with the springs compared to air ?
@@flygyro8 Having never driven an AS LS430 I can’t say but I did also own another 1994 Celsior with air, compared to my spring based one this floated over the local speed humps. The only other car I owned that came close was a Citroen XM with the hydro pneumatic suspension.

@@timomomomo969 they are taxicabs now. The other day I sat in a new Crown Platinum which is the replacement to the flagship Avalon (which the older ones I find as nice as some Lexus models even).

The LS430 is definitely well made! I hardly ever have to repair them!

Geez the way you know so much about these cars makes me feel you made these cars together with Toyota/Lexus
😅😅😅
That's exactly my problem, hard to pull a $10k+ trigger on a 20yr old car, no matter how clean it is...cars are not wine, they don't better with age
@@howlingwolf125y and that would be the problem for them in itself. Going against their new stuff…

Keep up the great work brother!
Good, thorough, passionate review, from a dude who knows and cares. Kudos.
I love when you say “may the lord bless you and keep you”
👎👎👎🐒🐒🐒 Really ? Not for nothing but, I detest it.
Man those are so nice.
I have 2017 Ls460 and love it but the Ls430s are just too sweet .
Your videos are so good and informative . I’ve watched many and enjoyed them all . Keep up the great work.
*one of the best sedans ever made, period*. There, fixed it for you. 😊😊
You don't have to remove the AC compressor to do the timing belt job just bend the little metal bracket that goes over the radiator fan/idler bracket and you're good to go
Currently in the middle of a 1700 mile road trip with an 01. Car has no problems and runs like a champ
Great video like always . I wish you make the same kind of video for LS460 😊
I had 2 of them. A timing belt with an interference engine is the only major flaw for me. Door locks actuators are also a weakness
Could you please work on an 01-05 IS300? Those cars are beasts at durability and they’re great cars as well!!
Very in depth professional rwview. Thank you.
A family member is about to gift me a 05 LS430. This prepared me for what I can expect.
I fell in love with these Lexus vehicles when I was on a federal narcotics task force. I saw one that was confiscated by DEA. Now after all these years, I still love these fine Japanese vehicles. I returned from overseas with a new respect for Toyota/Lexus.
The build quality is very very good.
I just got a 2003 and it does make me feel like a drug lord
I didn't have to take out my radiator on my 06 ls 430 timing belt kit replacement it's got 87,436 Miles on it, this is the best car in the world ever made 💯💥
Had a 1991 LS400 with CLOTH seats. Never saw another one like it. The interior looked like new when I totaled it at 170k miles
Toyota Century also uses cloth seats. Cloth seats are more quite than leather seats.
I prefer cloth seats more than leather ones. There’s just a different cozy feeling i dont know if I can explain it 😅
@@mvic_17t I totally get it they Toyota ones hold up the absolute best.
@@mvic_17t true. Cloth seats will hold better with time.
It’s so neat to see someone who knows cars be in love with one!
Doubtful- highly
Thanks
2004 Lexus LS430 300,430 Miles Still Driving 120 Miles A Day.
That's awesome! Keep going.. why would you want to stop.. outside of the car rotting away
Does this guy ever stop making great videos? ❤
