Harold Carmichael is / was a first-class guy. Years ago my family and I went to Puerto Rico for vacation. It was the off-season, and some NFL players came to the hotel (for whatever reason). When we checked in, there was an autograph session going on. When I went to the ballroom, the crowd had cleared out. But Harold was in the room. I told him I was from Philadelphia to insure an autograph. We was so nice - spent 5 minutes talking to me. 30 plus years later - it still means a lot.
my favorite Eagle of all time! I had his jersey as a little baby - I met him as a teenager and he signed it - he thought it was soo adorable, because it was a tiny baby jersey!
I am a NY Giants fan, but I'm a football fan first. Carmichael was dominant and should be a HOF'er. No question about it. I'm surprised that Philly hasn't openly campaigned for his induction like some other cities have for their stars. I think he loses out because Philly was a Dr. J/ Bobby Clarke/ Mike Schmidt city at that time, but no one embodied the blue collar, workmanlike, just get the job done like HC!
how in tf have i NEVER ONCE heard about this guy after all the years of watching nfl network and nfl films.. youd think they might MENTION a 6'8" frickin wide receiver atleast once.....
@Dev17cmd That's my point - only 1 wk. Boston went on a crusade mission to get Jim Rice elected in baseball. San Fran did the same for Orlando Cepeda. I'm just surprised that Philly fans - who are passionate to the nth degree haven't done more.
Now he's pro football hall of famer
Harold Carmicheal should be in the Hall of Fame
Uptade: HE WAS SELECTED IN THE LEAGUE'S CENTENNIAL YEAR!
And the Eagles won a SB with Nick Foles!
a legend that deserves to be in the hall of fame right here,..
