Classic Comeback! Go birds! Randall was the man throwing to a young Cris Carter... Who knew they would reignite the magic with the Vikings 10 years later.
What a great Eagles Team. Legendary. Next to the team that won the SB in 2017 this is my all-time fav Eagles lineup. RIP Reggie, Jerome, Andre and Buddy!
YEP! He'd be throwing tubs all game. Now imagine Dan Marino or Joe Montana playing under today's rules. Marino would have an 80 TD season and Montana probably have at least 7 rings.
Hyperbole abounds. You can't just take a player from one era and plug him into another and say he would somehow transcend all other players because the rules have changed. That's ludicrous, especially if we're talking about pre-salary-cap players. That kind of notion also disregards the higher level of athleticism present in today's NFL.
I was interning for the Eagles in the PR department that year. It was absolutely one of the most amazing games and endings you could imagine. Little trivia. After the game our team bus took a wrong turn and we ended up in a not really good neighborhood around the stadium and for a weird minute we thought maybe we were being ambushed. Turns out the bus driver just got lost and we were soon back on the right road, but after such a strange game and ending, it was a bit weird.

My favorite Eagles team. They had the number of all NFC East teams but could never get out of the 1st or 2nd round of the playoffs. But they were fun to watch.
Randall Cunningham Statline: 34 completions on 46 attempts (74%) for 447 yards (9.7 YPA) including 5 touchdowns and 1 interception for a QBR of 131.3. Their leading rusher (Anthony Toney) had 9 rushing attempts for a total of 24 yards (2.67 YPC). All running backs combined for 59 yards on 21 attempts for an average of 2.8 YPC. Talk about carrying your team!💪
I remember watching this game live. My step dad was not a football fan and on me to get out and get the yard mowed. He didn’t understand that the yard needs to wait. Thank you for posting this great memory. Eagles!
The thing was that when it came playoff time for the Eagles under Buddy Ryan they couldn't get it done. The Fog Bowl the year before, against the Rams that season, and then against the Redskins in the wildcard even after the Body Bag game. For Randall he only had that one playoff win in the wildcard in 1992, but then he had 3 playoff wins when he was with the Vikings because he had actual talent and actual coaching behind him in Minnesota.
Had to leave the house several times during this game. Way too stressful. Rejoiced when Jackson leaped in the end zone after the catch. As a testament to the quality of individuals these players were, after the game the "Reverend" White led both Washington and Philadelphia players to one corner of the field, where they all knelt in prayer. Just such great men.
Cool hearing Bradshaw, I remember the year before with the Falcons Riggs rushed for 1700 yards and had zero fumbles on 300 carries then he fumbled for us on the first series and in the fourth quarter also!
@13:03 Randall Cunningham's numbers were off the charts! I would have paid double the admission to see him play like that as he was one of the kind from that era. He and Warren Moon were like 2 peas from the same pod when it came to scrambling. It's a shame that the Eagle's could not scale to even greater heights back then, but the games they took part in, were certainly entertaining.
So I saw this game as a 16 yo on replay in Australia and that comeback from 20-0 down started my love affair with the Eagles!! As a young person of colour, Randall Cunningham appealed with his amazing running ability and rocket-launch arm!! Great highlights package… thanks for the upload and bringing back such fond memories! 🎉😃😃 #flyeaglesfly

Randall Cunningham, and the Eagles in general, were a really good football team for that 6 or 7 year period. The reason they were never able to play in the NFC Championship is that the competition was that much better AND thr Eagles weren't consistent enough in their play.
