I was diagnosed late in life. They say I have a mild one. I kept having head aches and insomnia, also I have a hole in my heart. I guess the two goes together. They need to discuss more of this when having it as a child and having been diagnosed late in age.
I see that this video was posted 8 years ago. I hope all is going well for you Kevin. My son is 14 and has ACc. He's the most wonderful person i know. He's a great musician, he's funny, he does struggle with school work now that it's getting more difficult and he's a bit socially awkward, but that's also down to other people not understanding neurodivergent folks.
Some people have auditory processing disordered that require accessibility adjustments to help them process and retain auditory information, especially speech. This can include changing the speed of audio, adjusting the balance, subtitles/closed captioning. I suspect you weren’t trying to be ableist by reacting this way but it actually perpetuates ableism against folks with “invisible disabilities”. Thanks.
