- Tom Brier, Patrick Aranda and Frederick Hodges play Scott Joplin's "Maple Leaf Rag" six-handed at the 2009 Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival. Very impressive performance by three master pianists.

Gotta love Tom Brier!
This is the real meaning of THREE PIANOS ON FIRE.
Three amazing pianists! I miss Tom.
I watched this on Keeper1st's channel, and now to see it from a different angle is incredible
Absolute Genius. Improvisation of the highest order from 3 fantastic pianists. Can't believe that people are moaning this is too fast. In my view this does not detract from what is a great finale to the day :) Yes, under normal circumstances it should be played at a more moderate tempo, but make no mistake, this is show boating of the highest order.
Very Entertaining! Loved it.
What I would pay to see this in person! Oh my lord!
I just saw the exact same performance in an other video, in this one i can see their hands moving on the keyboard better
I'm guessing you're referring to Keeper1st's video? He has much better audio but this video has a better view of the pianists
Jeez this is fast as hell but I still love it
Yeah, fast cuz them pianos gotta BURN XD
BRILLANTISSIME !!!!
great stuff !! 5/5
Love the way the music oozes out of the guy in the blues shirt. The guy on the grands a bit stiff and starchy
What can you say
Like a Ragtime Beethoven crossover. :-)
haha i just realised i commented 9 yrs ago ! It hasnt got any slower lol
Oop
wow you are pretty
Brilliant but fast.
Fast, but brilliant
@@georgeruzza but brilliant fast
Of course, these guys meant to play it this fast, neither of the three play it this fast normally
Holy geriatrics batman
Funny story. I have receipts behind me for piano lessons. Never learnt anything but rulers across knuckles are not a good aid to learning piano lessons. I will not embarrass long since departed teachers further but if asked I will prove I can be top of the Kari Lake types. I mean. Proof of assertion can be offered. I am laffing at how cheated out of her Election Ms Lake can explain her winning now.
This would be great if it was a bit slower. At this speed it kind of turns to mush.
It does get mushy and the end, and it is fast for a formal concert, but these guys were having fun and showing off their incredible talent, so I am fine leaving it at that.
Too fast, too fast, too fast !!! Lots of notes are getting lost, not even three piano players can find them again.
Not at all, the audio doesn't allow you to hear everything but these guys could play this even faster and not miss a note!
way too fast
It's supposed to be fast for this show xD
Repent of your sins and trust that Jesus Christ died for you!
tooooooooooooooo fast
Wow
Played way to fast.
... but fun, anyway. I am with you -- I think Cory Hall and Joshua Rifkin do two of the best renditions, if one is looking for a serious performance.
If you think these guys did it too fast, learn it yourself and play it slower! Problem solved!
Joplins pieces should be played at 100-115RPM (at least this one)
Listen to Keeper1st Video about ragtime tempos
Joshua riffkin is just boring and wrong
@@cdllc1956 Wow, such a stupid remark. Maple Leaf Rag works anywhere between 90 and 105 BPM the best but can be played faster provided the pianist knows what he's doing.
Meant to be played fast in this scenario, this is basically a three piano cutting contest but everyone is working together.
