She was fantastic! The Waltons got a bunch of Emmys. I loved the Waltons, but they can’t hold a candle to Little House.😒
The part where Nellie tears up her room, screaming, "I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!" is from the episode where Nellie faked being crippled just to get Laura in trouble after falling off of Laura's horse, Bunny. Somehow, Laura found out Nellie was faking it, so she pushed Nellie down the hill in her wheelchair into the mill pond below to teach her a lesson.
Aw man, these are not lowlights, they're highlights. We all loved to hate Nellie! Alison Arngrim was, and still is, a genius. She was treated poorly by fans who were too young to understand she was playing a role, but she was able to laugh at it, and she used Nellie's strength to help herself through a very hard childhood. Watching Nellie mature into a decent, hardworking, kind wife and mother throughout the series was so satisfying.
Nellie Oleson, what a bad person, the most annoying but at the same time the funniest character from “The Little House”, I always enjoyed her actions. 😂
Think she later actually fights her and when she gets in trouble at home, Charles ends up going soft on her cuz he found out she was defending him. And he’s like “Nellie says I smell? . Nellie didn't need a whipping, she needed an exorcist and the ghost adventures team.🤣🤣🤣🤣
You're thinking of Nancy, who was TEN times worse.
@@chrismulwee4911 It's amazing the little girls you loved to hate actually turned into stand up comics, AIDS activists and folk singers. Alisan Balsan has a really beautiful voice.
@@farrellmcnulty909 That doesn't surprise me. They probably wanted Balsan to try to sing OFF key for her Nancy character.
Thats a lot of abuse! She was such a Bully.
Yepp. I cant stand nellie
She always got hers though
@@dutchessdioji9368 her what
@@princesscurl733 comeuppance?
I bet she was cast immediately after her audition. Damn she played that character perfect!
Lol
That;s exactly what happened, according to Alison Arngrim. She says she and her father just about made it out to their car after the audition when her costume fittings were arranged.
@Mara L yes and she was brought back to audition as Nellie . Michael Landon laughed at her aloof behavior
in her audition and hired her on the spot
She read for the parts of both Laura and Mary and was turned down. They called her back to read for Nellie and she was hired on the spot.
I have a cousin that acts just like Nellie.
Stay away from her.
I can't stand Nancy when she saids They hate me!! .. I hated that line over and over. I was tired of it. Especially when Nellie came back to meet her and Nancy at the end didn't care. She locked up a girl in the icebox..Well it was actually Willy that close the door as she ask him to do without him knowing that girl was there ...
When the horse tore off and got her screamin. lol
Laura: My pa worked hard!
Nellie: So does a mule.
😂
Burn!
Shade.......lol..
That was cold
@@rebeccaabel4589 I loved the one shot in which Nellie and Willie taunt Laura by saying she smelled like some kind of horse and Laura throws hay all over them. MAN did Nellie scream!😄😄😄
I love that look Ma gives Laura in the last scene....like 'You DID tell her you would beg' lol
Ha ha!!
As a kid I hated her. As a teen and adult I LOVED her 😏😆 #prairiebitch In real life Melissa Gilbert and she were friends. Both disliked Melissa Sue Anderson.
Why didn't they like Melissa?
@@itakemytime1156 I think Melissa Gilbert once said that she was too snobby and stuck up
Yeah I heard that too. All the more talented all three of them were for being so convincing, and at such young ages.
@@itakemytime1156 Because Melissa always felt like she was the pretty one , that's the reason of her being so snobby and stuck up to them . 😏
Brianna Brittany and Harley It’s the name of her autobiography: “Confessions of a Prairie Bitch”.
Nellie oleson was the ONLY reason I watched LHOTP when I was a kid. Had a crush on her.
I HATE Nellie! I’ve always hated her! She’s a perfect picture of every girl who was ever cruel to me!
Brianna Brittany and Harley she’s a fictional character 😂 I don’t think I can meet her.
"I dont think the country girls have another penny, what do you think willie?" LMAO! i love Nellie so much.
I remember despising Nellie soooo much as a kid 😂😂😂 such a great actress, as was Melissa Gilbert. I actually looked a lot like her as a child and was about the same age while watching, I think that made me identify with the character even more while watching.
Which one did you look like, Melissa Gilbert or Alison Arngrim?
I love this show so much, I laughed so hard when the teacher asked Neily to stand in the corner and Wilie went with her and he said he used to be standing in the corner.😂😂❤
Nellie is the most fun in that depressing town
@Don Avan don't be cynical
@Don Avan 😂😂
Shut up libtard. It's a picturesque town. I would rather live there than in the city with jerks like you.
Well, it's depressing, but it could be easily improved. Remove the nature, add lots of cars, noise, pollution, a few Starbucks, a Wallmart, billboard advertisements everywhere, big office buildings, people who don't even know each other, and voilà, you have the perfect city. You see, instead of seing the negative in everything, try to see things as they could be with just a little work.
Miss Beadle: "Oh thank you Nellie" like she and the whole class didn't just watch Nellie shove her brother to the floor lol
And to think in real life, Melissa (Laura) and Alison (Nellie) were like sisters. ❤️
No they weren't sisters they were friends like best friends on the set
Nancy Campbell hun, learn to read, I said LIKE sisters.
@@Lavender_Cordle I did read and for you're information some friends like best friends are closer than sisters but obviously you don't know that like I said they were the best of friends
Sparky_Navy
Wow ! Just .... Wow .
Most of us understand you. Thanks 😊
Still are, I believe :)
That Nellie! Always causing drama and I love it. 😂
Alison Arngrim did a great job portraying Nellie Oleson.
I had to watch the last one twice. The way she said "...Yes." absolutely cracked me up.
Yeah, that was great...evil smirk, full mouth and all.
Nellie was evil incarnate. Alison Arngrim was such a talented actress.
ALISON is the best! She’s an angel IRL
nelli and mrs olson actresses i respect and appreciate a lot!! i hated them but at my 60 i understand their role of being hated.
I loved to hate Nellie as much as anyone, but I feel terrible that the actress actually had people come up to her on the street and call her names, spit at her, and make threats
Yeah, there was no call for any of that. She didn't deserve it. That would be like throwing a bucket of water at Margaret Hamilton wherever she went and screaming "MELT!"
Woooooooooow. I used to watch Little House all the time when I was a kid and they were pretty much the only books I'd read. I haven't peeked at them in nearly two decades. No wonder I sympathizes with Laura so much! My brother and I were the poor kids. XD
When Katheryn McGregor was given the roll of Mrs. Olson, Michael Landon told her that the character was very rich and a little bitchy. Katherine said, “Well yea... I can play that.” 🤣
And she did!!! She played it to the hilt!!!! 👍🏼👍🏼
And I've heard Katherine was a sweetheart & really funny.
@@timobrien8809 She and Richard Bull did Hollywood Squares together a few times and I enjoyed seeing that. She was very funny.
Great acting in this show. Especially the Oleson family stood out.
I absolutely love Alison Arngrim. She’s the best!💕
How is it possible that the actors on this show were rarely Emmy worthy? Especially Katherine MacGregor that portrayed Mrs. Olseson. She was fantastic! The Waltons got a bunch of Emmys. I loved the Waltons, but they can’t hold a candle to Little House.😒
Summer Wind, Was she the only actor/actress to be nominated from Little House?
It was a travesty that Nellie, Mrs Oleson and Mary weren't in the final episode. My 3 fave female characters for different reasons.
Mary had sour grapes for not having alot of lines. Melissa Gilbert and Allison said she didn't like to hangout with them between takes.
@@Jrollins916 Melissa Sue was more introvert so I can see why. Mary had TONS of amazing lines. Best child actor on the show by a mile.
Oh don't get me wrong I loved Melissa Sue just stating what I saw on TV about her Melissa g. And Allison
@@Jrollins916 Anderson left because she had been reduced to a bit player, plus she felt the series, as a whole was going downhill.
@@chrismulwee4911 Yes, she probably felt it was going down because it didn't feature HER enough. Melissa Sue Markle?
I love this show!, love love love!Half Pint, lil Willie and Nellie!, Fav line “my Pa works hard, “-Laura , “so does a Mule”- Nellie
Think she later actually fights her and when she gets in trouble at home, Charles ends up going soft on her cuz he found out she was defending him.
And he’s like “Nellie says I smell? Half pint, look at me! I reek!”
Or something like that. It’s been so long. I used to watch it all the time with my granny.
Lea Speer he sAys”, well she’s half right, I work in the stables all day, I don’t actually smell like a bottle of Lemon Verbena perfume”,!! B
Peace and LOVE that’s it lol. I knew he said something to make it funny.
I miss this show lol.
I loved hating Nellie and Mrs olsen. I grew up watching this show. I couldn't wait to get home from school every day to watch it.
My favorite parts of little house on prairie
When the new kid looks like he could be the father of some of those kids
"I know how to handle a horse!" Moments later: "AAAAAAGH!!"
Nellie is awesome. Cute and adorable yet evil.
If you haven't done so already could you do a video about the nastiest lowlights of NANCY Oleson? Seriously she makes Nellie look like a Girl Scout!!
