Charles was a great dad. Gentle, sensitive, fair... yet he was firm when he needed to be.
Charles was a man.. He took care of his family and made sure he did whatever he could to make sure they was good.. He also stood up for his wife..
yeah he remember my father!!!! :(
Megnamikoss mn
@Jennifer Adams he was never shown beating or using corporal punishment on any of his kids. I only recall one episode ("Be My Friend") where he threatened to whip Laura, but he softened up after she explained herself.
I really wished my dad was gentle sensitive and fair. But he really wasn't to a person who is born with any type of disabilities.
The scene when Mary goes blind has haunted me since I saw it as a child!! So chilling!! What an amazing performance!!
I hated Mary. She was such a bitch in every scene
Ysoyeifstsurue
Yeittyisrur
Saw that scene on tv today. Don’t really know the show too well. It was sad as hell
yes i feel the same way - the acting on this show was so organic and real
If you read the books before watching the show. You knew Mary was going to go blind in a future season.
Mary going blind forced Laura to grow up a little bit quicker. Laura took a job as a teacher to help provide for her family and to help pay for Mary's stay at an institution for the blind.
Both Melissa Sue Anderson and Melissa Gilbert were amazing in the way they could both put out such emotional performances. Incredible for their ages.
Ikr
Oddly enough they didn't get along offset. Gilbert was and still is good friends with Alison Arngrim.
Absolutely
@@roddma I believe Melissa Gilbert once said that she and Melissa Anderson got along just fine, just that they weren't close friends and didn't have a lot in common. She was much closer to Alison Arngrim (Nellie) as you said.
@@CherryFrog321 True not everyone is gonna be besties on a set but it refers to character. Alison Arngrim called her a "snot". Anderson claims not to have mentioned Gilbert because they weren't' friends but she mentions other cast members.
Pa was the dad we all secretly wanted as ours
suz obot omg right
@Jesus Christ King Of Kings Lord of Lords in my life that's so true
What do you mean secretly?
@@bfettrulez6734 mine was a non existent dad so it wasn't a secret with me
Well not really he stayed drunk in the set all the time and had a temper.
I love that Mr. Edwards calls Laura "half pint" too. That's her pa's nickname for her, so it shows how close the two characters are!
I always thought Laura & MR Edwards were soulmates. He had his problems but Laura was the one person who never gave up on him.
Old Dan Tucker was a fine old man, washed his face in a frying pan…
When my sister and I were little, we thought they were calling Laura "Half Mind," because she was always doing goofy stuff and running off across the hills.
Mr. Edwards was just a sweethearted teddybear❤❤❤
This show started off as fun and childlike and joyous. It progressively began to get darker and darker to the last episode, I feel like sometimes that’s how life works. Nonetheless this show is my childhood and I love it to this day and I'm only 22 years old.
Edit: However there were some characters n the show that not a lot of people here have commented about. Yes, Mary and Charles have won our hearts because of the things happening to them but hardly anyone here commented about Caroline, which I'm really shocked about. She, in my opinion is one of the strongest woman I know, next to my own mother. She persevered through everything with Charles, and you could tell her family was her life and she would never let that go, and that faith definitely carried her through the really tough moments. Another character i'd like to mention is Albert. He started off as a child beggar whose biologically father was an abuser and abused him throughout his childhood. Him getting adopted by Charles and Laura finally accepting him as her brother during the cow fair episode (Fagin) was incredibly emotional. And on top of that, he went through a lot other than childhood abuse. He lost the love of his life, Sylvia to a rapist and he got addicted to morphine and nearly almost died. The final season for some reason made it seemed like he was dying, but Laura said he went on to become the town's doctor because that was his dream goal was to be a doctor.
Ain't nothing replace a bright and fun and playful childhood... Never take that from any child
It did get depressing the last couple seasons --- lots of people dying, rape, drug addiction stuff
Bill Belzek Maybe they were trying to show how life then could be relatable to life now. I'm sure they experienced hard times even back then...
@Juno Donat Ikr, I've never even watched an episode of the Kardashians. I can't stand self absorbed people like them and so fake!
@Juno Donat I agree, very true
I watched that episode when Mary lost her sight originally when it aired, and it was gut wrenching then as seeing it now. This scene alone earned Melissa Sue an Emmy nomination for BSA in Drama.
These days they cut out a lot of scenes to fit more commercials I also grew up watching it Mondays 8 o'clock on channels 6 lol I still watch it
Robert Pagano When Mary said, "I can't breath", I felt her anxiety too. I cried so many tears watching lhotp episodes and the walton episodes.
@Michele Ellis No Michele, she did not win the Emmy, but was nominated that year.
In the series how did Mary lose her eye sight?
@@Starlight_GT I am not 100% sure, but I think she lost her sight from scarlet fever.
Michael Landon just exuded a sense of wonder and faith. It was not just acting. Whenever he was on screen, his soul shone through.
I love when people talk about Michael Landon.
I remember being a kid in the 70's and dreaming I could have a Dad like Charles Ingalls --- strong and firm but also very loving and ready to laugh to make you feel good --- but sadly my real Dad was a drunk and a womanizer
Well stated.
I completely agree...No show made me cry, feel or learn life lessons like "Little House...…"
I'm 50, I grew up with this show. I agree, Michael Landon was such a great actor!
I love how they called the scene where Mary lost her sight "that scene". If you know Little House, you know "that scene". I cried for ten straight minutes and couldn't stop!
I thought it was hilarious. I laughed for ten straight minutes and couldn't stop. Mary such a drama queen 😂
@mrg8581 well, let's hope you go blind and see how it feels.
@@mrg8581you are cruel
That was such a sad scene, especially because her parents knew the day would come when she would lose her sight.
@@stephb3321 They knew Mary would go completely blind in less than a month. 🙄
I could add a few more. Alice Garvey pounding on the window with the baby while the house is burning down. Still freaks me out to this day. When Adam said "I can see" and he looks at Mary for the first time. When Sylvia fell off the ladder then died with Albert by her side. When the little girl drowned in the lake and the mother of that child kidnapped Laura. When the widow died and her 3 children were in the room with her as the rain is pouring outside, so sad. Mary waking up and saying she can't see, that got me. Not being able to see Mrs. Olsen at the end of the show when they blew up the mercantile. When Percival told Nellie she was pretty. I could go on. Lots of drama in 'Walnut Grove. :)
Yes it makes u cry cause I am right now
The Auction
@@frxdispatchgaming1043 I don't remember that episode.
I got one. When Albert be friended the cucuis man/magician, and the guy went in the water, but wasn't able to loosen himself from the hand cuffs. I was crying when they had his funeral.
It was so sad when Mrs Sanderson told her three kids she was going to die. She said ‘gods taking me early’
I remember breaking down in tears when Mary lost her sight. I always looked up to her and just seeing her scream in utter terror just tore me apart. I love Mary as a character and Melissa Sue Anderson plays her perfectly.
Yes she was wonderful.
Why would u look up to a character like her? She’s the definition of a mean girl
@@shannonjohnson5459 Maybe because I was quite the bookworm as a kid (and still am lol) and I focused a lot on my studies so I related to her in that sense. Most of the moments where she was really ever mean from what I recall were primarily sibling rivalry with Laura.
I think the main example of this is in the episode "The Wolves" because Mary is a bit stricter to Laura, as she's in charge of the house while Charles and Caroline are off on a trip.
Otherwise, I loved Mary and her character. I related to her appreciation for literature and school, and I cried when she faced moments of hardship.
I would think that someone looking at Mary through Laura's eyes would think Mary is a mean girl, but honestly, it's quite the opposite. Mary has defended and stood up for Laura because she loves and cares for her sister and her family. She's only ever harsh with her for her own sister's safety and well-being.
Honestly, who doesn't think an older sister is bossy or mean at least once in their lifetime? It should be remembered that they still love and care for you, and they'll be there for you when you need them.
When Mary went blind I just cried my eyes out
In the book it was totally different. Laura said that Mary never cried, nor ever complained about going blind. She took it quietly and patiently. In real life Mary was a true Christian, as well as one of the other girls.
I feel like I was choked when Mary lost her sight
That episode caused me a lot of childhood trauma
@Crystal Spencer of course if they read the books they'd know, however maybe they didn't 🤷♀️
Ima, I felt the same way
She did that scene very well
Crystal Spencer it’s still a heartbreaking scene no matter what
No matter how many times you've seen "that" scene will always make you cry.
Melissa was an amazing actress
It scared the daylights out of me when she woke up screaming for her pa and all he could do was hold her while she yelled “I can’t see! “I can’t breathe! I can just feel every frightening emotion she was going through. Soooo devastating! 😵😱😫😞
@@shannonjohnson5459 I'd be screaming too if I woke up Blind or lost my child...
that scene? could've just called it the "blind scene"
She definitely waaaay overacted. That constant yelling and screaming from her annoyed me
@@shannonjohnson5459
My dude...
Mary was the one who went through so much.
She was TRAUMATIZED
That was very much a normal reaction.
Especially when suddenly waking up blind
The one where the dad is holding his dead son in his arms and says" days like this are made for fishing, not school" gets me every time
Lisa Olson right, the one where they got typhus. That was heart wrenching!
I watch that one when no one else is around,I'm a big mess
@Emilie Elaine exactly
That scene/episode makes me glad to live in the age of modern medicine and makes me feel bad for how much people had to suffer back then. This covid pandemic definitely sucks, but at least we have modern technology and medicine and it has a very low death rate compared to what it likely would have been had it happened in the 1800s. I can't imagine having to live in fear of even leaving your house when a disease is going around, and knowing that you could die or lose your child to the disease at any moment.
I have nightmares cover that one. 💀💀
I'm a 61-year-old man. Growing up, in my teens, I was aware of 'Little House on the Prairie'. But I never watch it because it was not the "cool" show for a teenage boy to watch! I stumbled on the pilot here on RUclips a few days ago. Just out of curiosity of its reputation of excellence, I watch it. Now I am hooked! I am half way through the first season over this weekend. I truly enjoy it. 👍
i'm a 50 year old woman now I'm still in love with this film series❤😅
That is so sad that you missed out. It was one of the best parts of my childhood.
I'm 58. One year younger than Melissa Gilbert (Laura) My whole family and I watched this when I was a little girl and being so close in age to Laura it resonated w me. Even though some thought it wasn't cool, really I think almost everybody liked it. I was also a big fan of Dr Quinn Medicine Woman. These shows are never dated because of the time period they are set. Still so enjoyable to watch.
@@AE-yt4lx why is it sad? I'm watching it now.
When laura ran away to climb the mt.to talk to God cuz her brother died.when Pa and Edwards found her.gets me everytime
Now that's my favorite episode!
When Laura reads John 11:25-26 from the Bible to help a man come to terms with the death of his wife and when Charles reads from Luke 2:1-11 on Christmas day at the end of episode The Blizzard.
most difficult one for me to watch was Jack. Something about losing a dog that is something we can all relate to. God bless.
Those are my favorite episodes
Omg, i'm watchibg that episode right now
How do actors cry at the drop of a hat like that? Mary was the most convincing crier through the years with sad and happy tears. She always had me crying along with her.
She’s the biggest crybaby ever…
I just loved Michael Landon's heart. He venerated wholesomeness and preserved its legacy in his shows. I loved the man because of his work. And his friend Victor French who worked with him . That's two wonderful souls and I cherish that.
Also Merlin Olsen, who played Mr. Garvey and Father Murphy, 3 awesome men!
He was a womanizer and picked up the pretty girls he met in Hollywood, all while he was married.
Amen to that...2 huge losses 😭😭
@@BabsChannel Michael Landon was no Charles Ingles and I am sure that even the real Charles Ingles would fall short of the perfect image portrayed on tv. He had his faults for sure and left 2 of his wives to marry his mistress. With all that being said he left a great legacy in his work. I do miss him and the LHOP and Bonanza cast that have passed. The LHOP was created at just the right time in history . They had the technology to make it and it was before the cable tv explosion so there was still a large audience available to watch.
Landon might have been sweet to his co-workers but was kinda scummy when it came to his personal life --- cheated on three wives --- neglecting his own kids and they became alcoholic and bulimic as a result
I adored Michael Landon. He was such a talented actor, writer, director. What a great loss.
Me too. I just loved him, plus he was SO good looking.
@@gretchennelson9965 yess he was so attractive
michael landon is the first person that comes to mind when I think of actors who make crying look incredibly realistic. i mean his emotions and him breaking down and tearing up, even the most subtle movements of his face when he gets emotional is just so eerily realistic, it's like seeing a grown man cry right in front of you and you NEVER see that in actors.
Another one is the scene where Charles has to give the boy his dead fathers satchel after he dies while exploding the mountain
Grace Hunter omg yes! I grew up watching Little House on the Prairie. I definitely remember that episode. It is so gut-wrenching
Calyssa Whispers ASMR for some reason it was one of my favorite episodes. that along with the christmas where they’re all grown up and recall their earlier memories

This will sound silly and trivial, but Laura's relationship with Bandit, right after Jack died, tore at my heart. When she finally accepted him, I cried my eyes out.
CASTOFFS! 😊
When Mrs Beetle has her head on the desk because she let the children walk home in the blizzard and Willie tells her that it’s okay she didn’t know and it’s not her fault (or something to that effect). All I know is that it made me cry.😥☹️
Mrs. Beadle not beetle lol
@@Julie86Mac The spelling is wrong, but the feeling is spot-on. Willie was spoiled, but at the root of it all, he had a good heart.
@@jazzkatt1919 He was never really as spoiled as Nellie-and she was a saint compared to Nancy (WHY did she have to have MY name???)
That was a really good and sad episode.
I know. Willie really wasn't a bad kid. I think he was kind of a typical energetic boy, plus he probably acted out to try to get attention because he was often overshadowed by his sister. That scene definitely showed that he had a heart!
I still watch reruns every day!
No one can make me cry like Michael Landon 😭
I cried my eyes out when Mary kept screaming “my baby”
If it helps, the real Mary Ingalls never married and never had a baby. 😥❤
I was a child in Indonesia in the late 1970s. I remember that after dinner, subtitled episodes of 'Little House on the Prairie' would air on TV. I later moved to Europe and the US but returned to Indonesia in the late 1990s. And after dinner, they still aired episodes of 'Little House on the Prairie"! Good memories.

Didn't they care about the pet chickens at all? I'm over 60 years old, I cried alot ALOT- for my chickens. //Certain people I've disowned, and damned them to hell a long time ago ( why didn't they die sooner?).
What makes it sadder was that earlier in the episode Jack kept pestering Laura to play with him but she kept shewing him away. He knew his time was short but Laura was too busy to play with him, one last time.

Jack's death crushed my soul. Mary's going blind was devastating.

All that little boy wanted was an education to make something of himself. To be a doctor. Seeing him say goodbye at the school destroys me every time.
Yes that one broke my heart
Definitely! When he says to Charles, "Would you rather be a white man and live to be fifty, or a black man and live to be a hundred", and Charles can't find any words to say. I actually gasped the first time I saw this scene. What a line.

The scene where Mary goes blind always gets to me. Both Mary & Laura grew up a lot after that & I liked the series a little more after that. Laura & MR Edwards relationship was awesome. They were very best friends !!
Karen Grassle was my favorite one on the series. The Caroline Ingalls character was very sensitive and loving, but was also firm and assertive when she had to be. She was the mother that most of us probably didn’t have but desperately needed. Will never forget the finale when she picked up the rifle and scared off Lassiter and his goons! Nothing beats the acting on Little House.... from the kids to the adults, simply stellar.
This is truly one of the greatest shows of all time. There are countless episodes that will leave you in tears....roughly 1 out of every three. When watching the opening credits, if it was both written and directed by Michael Landon, there is a very good chance the tears will be a flowing

The scene with Laura hugging Mr. Edwards in the Pilot movie always gets me even though I know he will come to Walnut Grove soon after the Ingalls move and will always be a big part of Laura’s life. ❤️❤️
And we later find out in the episode where he comes back to Walnut Grove that he'd had a daughter and a wife who both died (presumably before the events in the pilot movie, since he didn't appear to have a family at that point). That explains why he was almost as emotional as Laura during their goodbye. She probably reminded him of his daughter who'd passed away. 😭
@@CherryFrog321 well he actually did say, she reminds him of his daughter.
Yes that was a good episode he couldn't handle the fact that his daughter and wife died from smallpox. So started drinking heavily because his wife and daughter died it was a rare episode.the show was called quarantined ,he bought smallpox back and his wife and daughter caught it from him. His wife and daughter died because of smallpox .then they made another quarantine where he went with doc Baker to another town who had smallpox. They wouldn't let Mr Edwards in the town and he wanted hot coffee but instead there was another person there who is drinking bottle of whiskey and gave him some. Well when he drank the bottle of whiskey he didn't realize the person he got it from had the fever in the spots. Mr Edwards came home hugging his daughter Alicia and he gave her the fever and smallpox. It makes you think today especially with the quarantine we had and who's who knows what's next but both quarantines were fantastic they made you think of a whole town closing down.

Albert suffering major, physical withdrawal symptoms from his drug addiction was the episode that's forever burned in my mind.
What about when Albert told Mary he didn’t mean it when she was crying out for her baby? Or when Alice was breaking the window in fire? HONESTLY like Albert had it ROUGH
I dont think it was sad. Part 2 was sadder cus Sylvia died. But I think were Mary goes blind, May we make them proud, faraway cry, and little girl lost. IMO
Sylvia is a character that I can sadly relate to in a lot of areas. Granted I didn't have an abusive father or mother, both my parents are very loving and obviously I'm not dead and I didn't get pregnant. But I was raped by someone I didn't know in high school and then he spread rumors that I was easy and then people started saying that I was a tease and that I was a slut. Or the one where Laura climbs the mountain with a dying Albert. Or the one where Pa takes the dying Albert to see the ocean. They might've been the same episode. It's been a long time since I've seen any Little House episodes. Heck, I might've even gotten the characters mixed up. IDK

Albert bringing Mary a music box after the fire incident and she screams histerically, then he screams "I DIDNT MEAN IT" and runs out
James and Cassandra's parents' wagon crash
Charles and laura taking Laura's friend to see the ocean after he's diagnosed with leukemia
Charles giving this young man a new shirt as a present for good work, only for him to tear it up as it reminded him of his abusive father
And when Bunny dies!!
Yes the kid who was comforting Mary his name was Eli he was so cute.
The wagon crash got me so irritated with the mother. They could've jumped and saved their lives but the mother kept ons saying no like wtf.
@@isagani8111 Ikr? They could have jumped. It would have been a bit of a drop though, but getting a bit injured from a jump is better than getting killed. I thought it would've been better if they did something like all off the wagon and carefully walk the horses down or something idk
Jack's death was the moment in the series that got me the most :'(
I agree. I had 5 dogs (not at the same time), but it was hard when the time came to put them down. 2 of them passed on while still at home (one of them right in my arms). I'm debating whether or not to get another pet after losing our last one back in 2008 at the ripe old age of 17 years and 4 months. Now, every time I think about one of them, it brings tears to my eyes. Part of me wants to get another pet, but another part says 'no'.
Me too!
When Mary is kicked in the stomach by the new horse and has to have an operation in the episode "To Live in Fear Part 1". When Charles goes to the church and tries to make an offering, and Laura comes up and says it's a special donation for Mary, I have to bite back tears every time even though I know that scene is coming up.
The most beautiful series at that time all the world watched this series and the Iraqis loved this series
One of my favorite shows ever. I grew up 30 minutes from the real Walnut Grove where Laura actually lived
Korinna Beckenbauer wow
Wow and btw you’re so pretty
In Oklahoma?
I visited the one in Missouri plus Kansas can’t remember what those are called
@@judithhstevens126 Independence, Kansas and Mansfield, Missouri (where Laura and Almonzo lived out their lives)
Mary going blind when Caroline has tears in her eyes.
What got me was her acting when Mary first screams. Just closes her eyes as if to say, “God, give us strength for this moment that we knew was coming.”
There will never be another show like this one. I could watch them over and over. They never get old. Thank you for sharing. 🤩
How strange - I'm watching the entire series of LHOTP again. I used to love watching it as a child and, at the age of 56, I still love it!
I never saw my father cry and then I saw Charles showing emotions as father. I was shook as kid. So basically LHOTP learned me that man cry to. - Also I still wanna marry Adam Kendall after so many years.
That's so funny, Adam was my least favorite character, followed closely by Manly.
yea if only he could look the same today ...LoL!! wuddnt that be weird!?!
ADAM IS SO HANDSOME MAN
Michael Landon was so good at crying. Nothing gets to me more than seeing a man shed tears.
I Wish Michael Landon was still alive. He was the best actor. I am only 11 and I LOVE this show.
They missed the one where Cassandra and James lost their parents. That was a real tear jerker. They also missed when the Sanderson children lost their mother and were going to be adopted separately, not to mention when they had the burial scene. This show often had scenes that made me cry no matter how strong I wanted to pretend to be.
"Remember me in gladness, for that's how I'll remember you all. If you can only remember me in tears then don't remember me at all."
Oh my goodness Cassandra’s teary eyes would make anyone cry 😢
Lost their parents? LUCKY THEM!!!!!
@@juneberry1982 "They are very good children..." As she was trying to find a family for them.
Cassandra did not even talk for a long time. Plus when she saw Caroline she thought she look like her Ma
Patrick Laborteaux, who played Andy Garvy, said amusingly in an interview how everyone says Little House was the best show even though every episode was traumatic 😆.
Every episode of this show gets to me...I LOVE LOVE this show....I don’t care how many times I have seen it, I will watch it over and over again
I remember being a child and my grandmother had every episode recorded. I loved the show so much. Charles is such an amazing father. And Michael Landon did such an amazing job with showing that it's okay for men to cry. A lesson that has been hard for society to grasp. But he did a beautiful job with it. Watching this now as an adult, I have so much more understanding and appreciation for it. And it makes me cry like a little baby. Such a great show, for men, women and children
This is why I would lay on the floor in front of the TV to watch these wonderful episodes. I didn't want my family to see me cry almost every week. Good grief, I'm crying right now and I'm 54 years old. I love these shows.
I hear you I'm almost 55 In 2months. And I'm tearing up reading all of these loving comments from a TV show that first aired almost 50 years ago. They don't make anything this loving and honest anymore. These Woke networks only seem to make shows about lying, betrayal, lust, and screwing someone over. Of course that's what people want to see. This "modern world" makes me sick sometimes. Anyway that's what I remember and loved about Little House series. Thanks for reading and take care ❤️.
Yes yes those scenes had me in tears. I love Little House on the Prairie.
farewell to Jack..I cried my eyes out😥😥
always have still did do it's not easy losing family members be they human or fur baby. rip my heart right out
Me too poor Laura. She loved HIM so much i cry each Time .
I cried when Charles had to shoot Bunny 😫🐎
What episode was that?
I have a dog like jack so I cried hard when he died
That completely broke my heart 💔💔😭😭
I can't even watch that episode after all these years
Poor Laura, I can't imagine how traumatic that was for her :(
Some were fiction, but sadly, the death of Baby Freddie Ingalls, Mary’s blindness, and the loss of Laura’s son...were sadly real.
Adam and Mary both lost their baby in the fire and Alice Garvey died in the fire. That was super sad
@@ar-rumaysaahajar123 in rl Mary never married she lived with first her parents then her sisters till her death Laura is the only child who had children Carrie and grace I believe had step children I know Carrie did not sure about grace
@@beverlyarcher3744 grace had a stepchild I think

I have fallen in love with this show through reruns. Hard to watch many episodes without shedding a few tears.
You would need a box of kleenex for each episode.
I grew up watching the reruns. and now have all on dvd and these get me everytime i always have a box of tissues near by.
Little House On The Prairie will always be my favorite show. Ever since I was a kid, this show is what made my days! But boy... I’ve never cried harder because of a show.
I miss Michael Landon very much, such a great actor and director. And that was the perfect cast...
No wonder why the show endlessly gets replayed on tv.
I used to call it The Crying Hour!
If they don't cry, they run. I still like watching the show, though!

The episode Sylvia was a tear-jerker. So was when Mary first became blind and the one where Caroline's mom died.
No 1 for me is when they blew up Walnut Grove, and the series ended.
Also when Charles and Mr Edwards were looking for a runaway Laura, and Charles broke down crying when it seemed hopeless finding her.
When Albert was about to be taken away from the Ingalls'.
When Charles asked Mr Edwards to forgive him after having given up on their friendship.
Oh, there are many!
I absolutely LOVE this show..
Beautiful show. Never fails to fill me with hope and love. People these days are do disconnected and uncaring. Never fails to convey messages of how to live a life with honor, decency and integrity. If it never ever won an award....it should've. Funny thing, I absolutely couldn't STAND Nellie and Mrs. Olsen, but the show would have been nothing without them. They added the dynamic that is needed to round out this show. Superb acting by all! Wonderful show! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The part where Mary went blind was the best. She did really good
Amazing acting all around, all of them just played their roles so perfectly. I am shocked that the moment when Laura reads the speech about Caroline being a great mother on her school essay wasn’t on this list
You know what warmed my heart . . . when you actually see what she tried to write on the actual paper. "Ma is good" "Ma works hard" "Ma sews" Awwww. Being a kid who also struggled in school, I could relate.
I always loved Caroline! She was so loving and caring, but she was always so strong and very firm when she had to be! Karen Grassle played the role so perfectly!
I always had the fattest crush on Pa when I was a kid. He was so strong and kind and wore his heart on his sleeve. I loved that he wasn’t afraid to show his emotions.
I had a crush on pa to
My crush started with Bonanza and carried through to his death.
IMO the greatest series of all time that sometimes took a trip down the Oregon Trail.
I strongly believe that Look Back to Yesterday should have been put on this list. Whenever i watch that movie I cry my eyes out. It is one of the most heart-wrenching episodes of the seasons. I can even cry just thinking about it.
I can't believe I scrolled through all these comments and no one has mentioned the Elmer Dopkins episode! He's the kid who got bullied and was nominated for class president as a joke. Elmer's speech near the end always makes me cry.
I'm crying all over again 😥😥
Can you imagine losing your sight after you wake up how heartbreaking 😭😭 I love how Mary gained Adam and her teaching job from it though ❤️
Me too but it is for the show.. Real Mary never got married and stayed at her parents home then she lived with carrie and grâce.. the only thing True is that she attended à school for the blind..
And in the book she didn’t act like an angry little brat when pa sent her. In fact she was excited to learn. Can’t believe they had her treat her family so awful in the portrayal of the show
