It takes a while to learn them (and their nicknames) The two really tall ones Ayaka and Airi are both now advertising and runway models and actresses. Both have been in TV and films (Ayaka is in Netflix's Borderline). Both also do TV adverts. And they have remained good friends. The one you called Muto is Ayami Muto - most SG fans simply refer to her as Madame President (she was the first SG Student Council Presdent (as later both Su and Moa would be), the only one two do it two years, and in Karens Girls with Su pre SG). The Super Lady thing is essentially what all SG girls want to become. It is hard to describe the concept exactly - kind of become respected and the very best you can be. It was always Moa's goal - and every fan considers her having achieved it.

While it is tragic that Sakura Gakuin will becoming to an end next month, you still have so much to enjoy. The three girls of BabyMetal are just the tip of the Sakura Gakuin iceberg. You have 11 years of videos and performances with 36 adorable and talented girls to fall in love with. Many of the girls of Sakura Gakuin have gone on to have successful careers as singers, dancers, models, spokespersons, and actresses in TV, movies, anime, and threatre. You might also want to check out Atarashii Gakkou. This is a group of four somewhat older and awesome Japanese girls who sing and dance in high school uniforms. Atarashii Gakkou has nothing to do with Sakura Gakuin, but are a sort of spiritual successor to them.
You will also start to find favourites (all SG fans have them - mine are Rinon and Aiko). Obviously Su, Moa and Yui have a large following (partly because of BM) But also because Suzuka is such a dicotomy herself. On stage we are used to SU-METAL who is sharply aware of everything around her yet in SG she is, well, ditzy. She is renowned for low nendo scores (see compact delorean) and also for going in the wrong direction (nickname Wrong Way Nakamoto). And well Yui and Moa are simply adorable...
Thankyou for reacting to these. I first heard of BABYMETAL last year, and automatically I started watching all kinds of BABYMETAL and Sakura Gakuin stuffs, their interviews etc... It was all coming naturally. Just seeing them makes me happy 😍❤️🦊🤘
FINALLY ! The SUN episodes are some of the best early SG content there is for sure and it's a litteral SHAME nobody ever recommends them and no reactor ever gets to see those. But with you doing this finally maybe people realize it's TOP TIER content and we start seeing more reactions to these pop up. Actually the last two episodes aren't subbed. I mentioned in the BMCord that I'm trying to find the motivation to try and provide atleast half decent subs for these but my Japanese really is at an amateur level so it's a lot of work ahead. But this right here, this is what I call motivation. I'll try to get on with it... :D. Edit : as for the name order thing it's just the translator who fuckedup lol...
「木下のハゲじじい」(KI no shita no HAge JIjii) is one of the ways for remembering mathematical equations about velocity in Japan. 「距離(きょり、Kyori, distance)」, 「速さ(はやさ、Hayasa, velocity)」, 「時間(じかん、Jikan, time)」, we take the acronyms of the three words, and make a diagram like that which Hana draw at 32:33, and learn the relationship between multiplication and division as a kind of pun.
It's amazing. You are taking notes on each and every one of them. Sakura Gakuin will be closed on August 31st of this year. By then, please chase down to the current members.
🌸 🏫 'Verishuvi' is the song you were asking about that they kept showing. That music video might be a good one for your next reaction. That's great that you recognized Airi from one of her acting roles. You're right. her smile is very memorable. She was painfully shy in her Sakura Gakuin days, but she credits the experience with making her current career possible. Both Ayaka and Airi, the two tallest, have very successful modeling and acting careers. Ayaka is in the Netflix series 'Alice in Borderland', based on the popular manga. Yes, Marina was pretty hyper, but she's a total sweetheart, and one of the busiest graduates in the entertainment industry. She still holds the record for being a member of the most Sakura Gakuin sub-units during her time in the group (5). According to Raura in a fairly recent interview, there were quite a few girls who were taking singing and dance lessons in the Amuse Kids division. Over the course of a year or so, most dropped out based on the difficullty, and most of the ones who were still there at the end (who were probably also the best) became original Sakura Gakuin members. Yui and Moa were actually there training and rehearsing from the start, even though they were the first two "transfer-in" members officially.
Thanks for the name of the song, the song is awesome I love Alice in Borderland, but unfortunately I didn't recognize Ayaka. I can't believe how much the girls of Sakura Gakuin have achieved. Especially Marina has a lot of things to do. Thanks for a lot of cool information
officially in most asian names the family name comes first, and then the given name. The announcer was saying the way it should be read, but they wrote the given name first and family name last on the visuals, so its more familiar to western audiences.... Hope you start reacting to more SG stuff.... The accoustic version of FRIENDS song by the 4 class seniors is more tears inducing than even Su's graduation.....
SUPITSU is the katakana writing of the famous Japanese rock band 'SPITZ' (it's named after the German word for 'sharp and pointed', which you will know ;-)). Look them up on wikipedia via 'spitz (band)', it's worth it. Look up 'Spitz Robinson' here on YT for a taste. Others have already explained all about Japanese names and their word order. About the name 'RAURA': 'R' and 'L' are not differentiated in Japanese, just like in Chinese. That means they sound the same to their ears, and the actual sound they use when pronouncing the consonants lies somewhere in between 'R' and 'L' (with the Japanese sound being closer to 'R' and the Chinese being closer to 'L', and being the source of all the mispronunciation jokes about Asians....). So, 'RAURA' sounds exactly like 'LAURA' to the Japanese, and it's the only way to transcribe the name 'Laura', too, as there is no 'L' available in Japanese. I figure her parents named her 'Laura'. As for MATSUI vs. ATSUI, those words are completely unrelated. ATSUI means hot, yes, but the name MATSUI consists of the two kanji MATSU (pine tree, Kiefer) and I, which means a well (Brunnen), so you can translate MATSUI to PINEWELL, or KIEFERBRUNNEN in German.
Being able to read katakana is good, but unfortunately I often don't understand what is meant by the translation :D Thank you for the nice information, very helpful
“the left one” is Marina Horiuchi, and yes she can seem strange at times. Anyway, she recently came out with her first album (maybe sometime react to her songs/posts?) …and it is great as far as I’m concerned. Marina was also the third SG president.
Marina is still all kinds of awkward, even today. I watched one of her music videos the other day, and she is the same when being introduced to the session musicians she's recording the song with. It was shy and cute when she was in SG, but it looks like a serious condition in a grown up lady. I hope she'll gain a little more confidence along the way.
@@shma1israel Marina is fine, and people love working with her. She might be the single busiest Sakura Gakuin graduate with a new cartoon, a kid's TV show, at least one Idol group, stage dramas and her solo singing career.
i know its off topic but i like your shirt xD yes Marina is the funny one. moa is the foodie amongst BABYMETAL, but Nene was the foodie of Sakura Gakuin. In addition for their love of food, they also are very emotional and cries at emotional gatherings. They also like giving hugs
Yeah, the SG videos are great. The Nendo tests are proving to be the most popular with the reactors, particularly from the first five years as they feature the Babymetal girls. Those are the years 2010-2015, however they are all entertaining. I also wonder how many other people have been drawn to learning some Japanese since discovering Babymetal?
I'll probably see everything anyway, I'm looking forward to the Nendo videos Babymetal was actually the deciding factor for me to finally learn Japanese
@@AnotherOne-xj9hw Yeah. She loves them too. As adult now, she often share pictures of her attending NJPW events on her twitter. NOTE: About Japanese names. You're totally right that traditionally Japanese names have the family name first, followed by the given name. What makes it a bit confusing, is that some entertainers will use the Western style, where that is reversed. Especially when they are pursuing markets outside of Japan/Asia. The SUN episodes are among the most confusing, since they will pronounce a name one way, and spell it out in Romaji in the other. Then add subtitles, provided by fans. : ) There's been an official push over the last few years to promote the Japanese convention, even in foreign media. It's difficult, especially when someone has already become well known with the Western styled name. I'll admit I had Rinon backwards for quite a while when I first started following Sakura Gakuin. Isono is her family name, and Rinon is her given name. Even now, I'll often see her name order reversed in a list of Sakura Gakuin members.
