Good talk. Recently got into Corgi WW2 bombers, after getting many of the 1/48 Hobbymaster warbirds line. I enjoy the Corgi's but got into them in the midst of the price hikes and I question the price points. I sent the Mosquito Moonbeam mcShine back after unboxing it. It looked cheap, badly build (gaps and not good fit) and not worth 80 euro's. I also got the Gremlin Teaser Short Stirling and will I like the tooling it's inaccurate. It's missing many rcm antenna's and has antennas not present on the real plane below and on the sides of the cockpit. The Ju88 barbarossa (90 euro's) has wrong propeller shaft inlets. It looks like a mix of old and new Ju88 types. The stand of the He111 barbarossa (160 euro, vastly overpaid for that one) broke at the top during the night and the plane rested on its tail. Luckily no further damage. I have a b17 (Milkwagon) incoming, own a Vickers Wellington, B24 Witchcraft, and the Grocs the shot Lancaster. These were fine except the stand of the B24 leans way to far to the left and rests the plane on its wing. Above problems make me cautious to spend more on Corgi's.
Depressing but so many factors involved World plus others unique to U.K. . Everything going up due to COVID, Brexit, U.K. Pound Stirling devaluation, Chinese standard of living increasing with wages, raw material price increases, fuel increases and cost of hiring transport Containers due to shortages. I will still buy but will be very much more selective now. I can’t blame Corgi to be honest but they need to add value for money or they will suffer badly.
I think that corgi should do a 1/72 b-29 Why not ? AF1 has Done a H-6k bomber in 1/72 whit a very strong stand 🤩 excellent model and that is a big plane B-29 is a little longer wings only !
