Seem to recall a documentary where it was claimed he wrote this song in one night. The rest of the band had left Rick in a corner strumming away as high as a kite - and when they came in the next morning voila. What a lovely thought 👍
Rick the master of rhythm, the man is class..!
Powerhouse of a guitar player ... Influenced my 1970's and still does to this day
Talk about riffs - this is one of the best rhythm riffs ever
God bless you Rick , great guitar player and I was very lucky to see you play twice , you blew me away with your rhythm playing .
Wow, thats what i call guitar playing, thats better then shooting 500 notes per second to you
The tuning is open G. Drop A To G and Raise E to G.Look at the video. Rick shows you exactly how to tune for this song.Same tuning for Hold You Back and Rain.
I HAVE to get myself that DVD because my slobbering isn´t good for my laptop for sure :-)
ever since i was a kid i´ve loved this song. It´s just so f´in goooooood!!!
this is the song that got me seriously into the Quo - I remember hearing it on the radio in 1976 (I think) and just LOVING that rhythm (with the 'slap' left hand muting)! Brilliant to see it close up - cheers for posting!
it a open G tuning Bottem E drop down To D and The Upper E String Is Turn up To G en The A String Is Drop Down To Also G So You Get GGDBGD Then Capo On The Second Fret Than You Getting The Right Sound
the tuning to finally end this is DGDGBD with a capo on the 2nd fret
A lot of quo songs are 3 chords but not every song is the same 3 chords so they know more than 3! its just that 3 chords make the best music!
Thats like saying oh this band only plays 12 bar blues why not 14 or 20
omg - fab u luss

what a joke ... who would want to play a riff or make a riff like that is beyond me ... noncey gadgey rock at it's finest! for gadgies with piles and double denim all trying to be like Parfitt and Rossi!! ha ha ha ha ha that riff is shocking
