I dunno about ROTY but if Dominguez hits .250 with 25 HRs and 30 SBs and plays relatively mistake free defense then he's living his best life. He could be an integral part of a new core of solid young players with Volpe, Jazz, Wells and Weaver that could anchor the Yankees for a good 5 - 6 years.
@DegenDemon Weaver just turned 31 in August. He's young enough to remain an effective closer for at least another 5 years or so. Kahnle on the other hand is looking a little past it. He hardly even throws his 4 seamer anymore. His changeup is still elite for now but a lot less effective when batters know it's coming. He should be dealt for younger options.
Dominguez's batted ball numbers were the same in 2024 as they were during his spectacular 2023 stint. He swings hard and crushes the ball when he makes solid contact. His call up in 2024 was marred by poor performance and a competition for the position, unlike his 2023 campaign, was mostly a factor of him being unable to square up the ball the way he did in 2023. Statcast only has data for this starting from last year but given that he hit 4 HR in 8 games I think its fair to say that he was pretty good at squaring up the ball. In 2024, Dominguez ranked in the bottom 10% of players in Squared-Up % at only 16.5%. He similarly struggled in LA Sweet Spot, consistently rolling over with a 60.2% groundball rate. If Dominguez can find his 2023 form and barrel the ball in the air at an elite rate, he will be the next big Yankee outfielder.
If Soto signed somewhere else, Jasson will be the center fielder, Judge on right and Spencer Jones at left if he has a great spring training or a mid season call up.
If Gil and Dominguez become ROYs, we may have two consecutive rookies of the year that begin the season with the team that aren't eligible for a draft pick. Only the Yankees.
Dominguez needs to play his position center field,, he's not a good corner out fielder,,we already witnessed that,, let him play winter Ball in center,, and in spring training start him in center field,, not the corners out field ,, judge back to right,, that's if Soto doesn't resigns,, let's get a good and legit left fielder 💪
If anyone's coming from the Angels it should be Neto, Soriano and/or maybe Rengifo. Trout is their ticket seller, he's why people come to the ballpark. Him to NY is never going to happen. Too bad, I guess he probably doesn't get a WS ring now.

@@docbojoc1466 Three guys that want to be Yankees
Half most go, including manager!

Why didn’t Dominguez get the AB instead of Trevino with the bases loaded
Let the kid play damn
Yes... The Volpe treatment... They kill their prospects and it sucks... Let them play
Remember when the starting lineup was supposed to feature Frazier and Andujar? Yeah, im not with you on the prospect worship
The Martian is gonna win rookie of the year bro trust
Jasson Dominguez is the Yankees new CF as Aaron Judge plays at Right Field and the Yankees get Brendan Donovan from the Cardinals in a trade.
👽🗽👽🗽👽🗽
He has to hit 25 HR and a 275 average
Let the kid play! It won’t be pretty at first but with enough at bats he’ll catch on and provide new blood to the team.
He needs to lean the outfield. Cant tract a ball for shit.
I can see Cashman start him in triple A and get injured, replaying this whole circus act like in 2024. Im tired of this team

Has to stay healthy, seems a bit "brittle" already and that's not good for a young player!
I think Yankees sign Blake Snell & Mike Trout w/help from Angels.---Trout, Dominguez & Judge left to right....
dream on
Lol

@@nickgomes9370 this is exactly what I was thinking. Maybe take a flyer on Reid Detmers or Patrick Sandoval?
