      I was never going to make the MLB but I played from 6 years old until 18 years old and pitched most of those years. When I didn't pitch for my high school I pitched for my winter league team. I belonged to THREE TEAMS every year. I was a starting pitcher and I would start more than one day in a row. My worst was 3 days, but I had a lot of days where I pitched consecutive days. I am not a lot older than Linsecum, but back then it was not the same as it is now. We were overused. My shoulder finally gave out my senior year of High School and I was done pitching for the rest of my life. I can still pitch, but I can go about 10-20 hard pitches before I start feeling tightness and pain.
      Science was not there back then. I have had two shoulder surgeries and an elbow surgery (going to have another to clean the elbow up again in 2025). But we were WAY overused. Especially the good ones. I was decent, but I was never drafted like most of my team was even though only 1 played for the MLB (Jason McDonald for the A's). I wasn't drafted because I was damaged goods. I would have loved to play in the minor league. Even just for a year or two. 5 teammates at my high school played at least one minor league season. I think 8 were drafted, and three of them went to college and never bothered. There weren't the bonuses like you see today. College was more important than making 10k playing in the minors back in 1995.

We were at Whistler a few months ago, it was the first time I've seen him in awhile, and he's happier now than he's ever been. He was so burned out by the end of his career, and when he finally retired, he just wanted to be normal. Great dude who puts his family first, and hasn't changed since we were 14.

      Sin separates us from God, but through Jesus's sacrifice on the cross, we're offered forgiveness and a restored relationship with God if we repent and believe on Him.
      John 3:16-18
      For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him. 18 The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

    I've been preparing a long, 30-60 + minute long deep dive documentary on Tim Lincecum for a few months now. Your video did a good job summarizing the better aspects of his career, but the truth behind his downfall is not a short and simple one; it's one that was a perfect storm of heartbreak, luck, circumstance, illness, family, and even death. I've been a Giants fan since I moved to California, and Timmy was my all time favorite player, and always will be. To say he was nothing short of electric was an understatement, because when he played baseball, it was spectacular.
    No idea when my doc on him will be out(probably not for a bit tbh), but it's going to be VERY in depth and show the full picture on what really did happen to him. It's a long, complicated, and often misunderstood story, but it's one people need to know.

      @@chasmeinecke4322 I'm NOT a big fan of the BBWOA. Writers and media members should NOT be the determinants of who gets elected to HoFs (including the pro Football HoF in Canton). Too much opportunity for cronyism and holding old grudges (and/or "boosting" players who schmooz and "butter up" the selector writers) IMO, the selectors should be a committee of players, owners, GMs, and members already elected to the HoF ... with perhaps some collateral INPUT from writers/media (but not the sole determining.voice).

    • @chasmeinecke4322
      @chasmeinecke4322 2 месяца назад +4

      No argument here. BBWOA is the same group that keeps Curt Schilling out because they don’t like his political views. It’s ridiculous. They shouldn’t be the sole voice who decides who gets in and left out.

    • @wingedbuffalo4670
      @wingedbuffalo4670 2 месяца назад

      @@chasmeinecke4322 Hey @chasmeinecke ... Thanks for that info. I didn't realize that they have CORRUPTLY CONTINUED to keep Curt "Bloody Sock" Schilling out of the HoF STILL. All because some leftist pinhead writers "don't like" his political views !!! Because on the merits of his playing career alone, he belongs in the HoF WITHOUT DISPUTE. Yes, I agree it's ridiculous, how Schilling has been blackballed, but beyond that, it's truly an OUTRAGE !!! These HYPOCRITES don't stop to realize that their far-LEFTIST CANCEL CULTURE is SO MUCH WORSE than the short-lived "McCarthy Era" that they constantly decry. Their actions are every bit as bad (and actually worse) than the 1950s actions and hearings they condemn ... so where does that leave them? But these people are so vicious that they simply don't care.
      Why is the modern Marxist "McCarthyism" worse? Because it's bad enough to have censored free speech and "punished" political views in the first place (which, in reality, was actually at least somewhat "understandable" for the dangerous Cold War times given the legitimate concerns/fears driven by the no-kidding FACTUAL REALITY that Communist doctrine had sworn to conquer the world and THERE WERE actual operative COMMUNISTS and COMMUNIST SYMPATHIZERS trying to undermine and subvert our Government and American way of life from within) ... but to INTENTIONALLY REPEAT (and massively expand) that unacceptable behavior is DISGUSTING and WICKED. It's so much worse because we supposedly now know better than to do that to people. We're supposed to evolve and learn from past mistakes as a society, not repeat and double down on them. There should no more be a repeat of "McCarthyism" than there should be a reinstitution of slavery or WW II era internment camps for American citizens !!!!!!! Right is right, and wrong is wrong, and those standards can NEVER change depending upon one's race, religion, etc. OR "political views."
      Finally, maybe the fans can force change in the HoF selection process by BOYCOTTING the HoF (which makes a TON of $$$$$$$ via tourist visits and overpriced merchandise sales) for as long as it takes to eliminate the BBWOA as the "deciders" of who gets enshrined or not. If money is what drives these greedy blankety-blanks at the end of the day, then perhaps they need to be hit in their bank account to force some long-overdue change. Despite their arrogance and hubris, I have a newsflash for the BBWOA: they are NOT the true guardians of the game of baseball. The fans are.

    Wjile sitting close to the field while watching Timmy pitch a gem I was flabbergasted at his flexibility and pitching mechanics. He just seemed impossibly flexible. How could such a relatively slight athlete have such ball speed and control? Then I did some research and came across an analysis that measured a pitchers stride, arm motion and angle And how low they were to the ground when delivering the ball to the plate. The result of the analysis is that there are only two pitchers in the modern era who were capable of contorting their bodies in such an extraordinary way. Tim and Sandy Kofax. That explained a lot. He was simply a very gifted athlete with a rare set of pitching skills. So much fun to watch.

    Tim Lincecum played in the era right before social media really blew up. Honestly I miss those days I wish we could go back, however there are so many great players that were affected by that era who people have seemingly forgot this guy was extremely dominant two Cy Youngs and three championships this guy is Hall of Fame without a doubt. It shouldn't even be a question about it. Like I said if this guy was around the social media RUclips era of today he would have so much glaze on him it would be ridiculous he was that good for his time.

Only, when we got to the stadium, it was announced that Lincecum was scratched from the line-up, due to a back injury. In his place, the Giants would start a brand new pitcher who had been freshly called up from the minors, and who would make his debut in the major leagues in that game. His name: Madison Bumgarner.
