Aparna Mulberry is an English Teacher. She is known by the name Inverted Coconut. 'Inverted Coconut’ is her Instagram handle.. She has been using the platform to stay connected with Kerala and Keralites from every nook and corner of the world. She teaches spoken English online and has a wide subscriber base from all over the world.
Aparna’s parents met in India, fell in love, got married, and headed back to the US where she was born. When she was just three years old, her parents moved to spiritual leader Amritanandamayi’s ashram in Kollam. She was raised In Kerala after which she moved to the US in her teenage years.
Aparna Mulberry then later started teaching English to students from all over. An oppurtunity in Big Boss got her back in Kerala and she went to become very popular in Kerala. She is in same sex marriage with her partner and she came out about her sexuality on her Instagram page. She continues to advocate for LGBTQIA rights and travels back and forth between India and France where her partner is now residing.
In this two-part conversation Aparna Mulberry talks about how it was for her to be growing up in Kerala and what it takes for a foreigner to belong in Kerala. Aparna talks about her decision to come out as a gay person and introduce her partner to everyone else. She shares tips and advice on how we can get better at spoken English. She talks about her path of spirituality and how she applies spirituality in her day-to-day life.

Coconut or Bounty is a term used by colored people who are westernized/raised in Western societies. Brown outside and white inside. So Aparna is the other way around. I am surprised Maam didnt catch that 😇
It might not be that she doesn't know about it. It's her way of asking the guest to explain the story behind that name for us viewers to understand. She used that question as a tool for aparna herself to tell us the story.
