the one who stabs arthur in the end was his shadow...from the opening animatic arthur didnt die actually he died metaphorically... the joker persona took over completely there is no more arthur just joker we see the inmate "John Doe" throughout watching him.. and stalking him in the background when arthur is singing for once in my life he is the only one dancing with him.. through out the movie when Arthur’s was about to take his meds he walked closer and the cops pushed him away and when Arthur wore the joker costume you see him smiling at the tv and after Arthur’s rejects the joker persona he got angry and stabbed him.. the shadow is uncontrollable doesnt want to stay in its place the shadow is joker "you have another person living inside you" the lawyer says.. the other person inside him is his shadow the joker.. the one who stabs him in the end.. arthur is now dead there is only the joker after being broken down and beaten and after saying he isnt the joker, after lee rejects him for it after he is beaten to the ground the shadow takes over completely.. arthur no longer exists.. is dead.. who cares about arthur? in the end no one does... the joker lives on
And also remember that Arthur killed Murray in the first movie because he was not like he imagined, he used to watching him on TV. Just like the psychopath says he used to watch the clown (Arthur/Joker) on TV, but gets pissed when he discovers that he was never what he imagined
Tiene sentido si tomamos en cuenta que solo están ellos dos, por lo que tal vez Arthur se lo imagino, su propia maldad encarnada, matando a su lado bueno.
Is that by any means wrong? It clearly SURPASSED it and brang The true Joker. The one who's a true psychopath, not just a troubled little boy who just wants to be loved... Hahaha. The inmate tried to save Arthur from a certain death, yet Arthur went looking out for love after being tamed by the system. I laughed and laughed after seeing him on the floor with the inmate laughing batshit crazy after he was done with him. You just got too attached to Arthur... hahahaahha. Find another love object... or villain. Please bring The Joker or Joker 3 with Jack Oswald White and Connor Storrie playing him.
Let me just say, Joaquin still embodies Arthur in this movie just as much as the first. It's not what I expected, obviously, but his singing in this scene really, really hits home for me. Tarantino said the same thing about it and Jaoquin's acting. I get we didn't want a musical but man, can we still just please acknowledge this movie personfies a civilization that fails Arthur, brilliantly... Right until the last moment, just like ours does in real life. Thank you Jaoquin for this character. Man, I'd love to meet him in real life. What an actor.
Did you ever think about why the psychologist was not mentioned at all at the end of the first film when Arthur had completely become the Joker and killed the psychologist for no reason? Does it make sense for the second film to humiliate him or for Arthur to be depressed again, especially when he created Batman in the first film and laughed wholeheartedly without a nervous breakdown? And the social worker asks him to tell a joke, but Arthur just laughs at the joke in his mind. Does anyone dare to kill the Joker? Arthur has reached the evolution of the Joker. The Arkham in the first film is completely different from the second. Unless Arthur was transferred to Arkham Asylum after the murders he committed, and after a while, the psychologist meets with him in a room, asking Arthur to tell his joke. In fact, Arthur was imagining the entire second film in detail, including his falling in love, and how ridiculous the end of his life could be, and he kept laughing. Then, after.
The fact that deadpool and wolverine is still the best comic book movie this year even including a joker sequel is the most depressing thing i ever heard.
I know everyone hates it, but I genuinely think it's a great movie. It's very different and took a lot of risky moves. If you go into the movie expecting a continuation of the tragedy of Arthur Fleck as opposed to the epic journey of the Joker, then it's a really solid movie. It isn't even punishing the audiences for loving the first one. You can love both. The first one is about a sad man pushed to the edge and finally feeling loved. The second one is about a sad man that finally feels loved, but isn't actually loved for who he actually is, he's loved for the fantasy of who he is and what he stands for. It's such a great and interesting story. The core message of both movies is no one understands or cares about Arthur Fleck. It's ironically the reason why people hate the second one so much. Which is why it's such a tragic story.
So what I got from this was that the guy that kills Arthur at the end was the real joker. You can also see him carving a smile on his face, so basically Arthur was just the inspiration for the real joker👍
I really hope that they make a third one, and explain in the opening of that one that this whole scene was just a dream or illusion by Arthur’s fear of someone getting revenge on him leading up to his real death by Batman!
“JOKER: FOLIE A DEUX" (2024): I THOUGHT THIS WAS GREAT FILM. IT IS ASHAMED THAT IT RECEIVED BAD REVIEWS AND WAS A BOX OFFICE FLOP. BUT, OH WELL, THAT’S LIFE. THAT'S ART.
I regret listening to people online and skipping this movie in theaters. I loved it. It’s the only musical I know that actually works contextually within the movie in a meaningful way (ie conveying their delusions) It’s a great tragedy, and a beautifully shot movie. Chronically online, anhedonic people can’t help but hate things that don’t meet their very specific expectations.
The funny thing is, while Arthur is listening the "joke" is almost as he doenst know the joke is about him and something that happened, he is just waiting the punchline
I maybe the only one who is glad this happened. Arthur wasn't Joker, not in any movie, the label had to be taken away from him. Public should just forget these two movies like the Catwoman movie
I’ve seen the movie but is there any reason the Lee character is holding a gun in the scene Joker holds his stomach wound? Wonder if there’s scenes we didn’t see she shoots him even in metaphor or allegory
I love this movie i dont give a damn who hates it i appreciate it alot. I watched it thinking who tf did people expect more of the first when hes in jail.
Probably ten years later when they ll spend all the money they blew on this one they will tease the public with a ‘real’ sequel. All of a sudden they ll be once again interested in exploiting violent gimmicks and embracing riot stuff etc

@crazypopcorn7801 great point. I love it even more. The film is kind of depths in detail. Sadly it got unnecessary bad reputation.
Tiene sentido si tomamos en cuenta que solo están ellos dos, por lo que tal vez Arthur se lo imagino, su propia maldad encarnada, matando a su lado bueno.
This movie did everything it can to betray its predecessor.
Amen.
Yep.
Thats why its so hard to take. It will be accepted eventually
@shadowofthebat6433 our kids, kids, kids will talk about what a legend this, and suicide squad were and how unaccepted it was for its time

You’re telling me that we spent TWO WHOLE MOVIES with this guy who ISN’T The Joker!?!
OH NOW I’VE JUST *HAD* IT!
This ending destroyed the entire movie for me
I know lads, l know
To be fair he is to old to be the joker that batman fights.
the entire movie was a joke
now you’re starting to get it

Genuinely one of the most worst endings in cinema history, made the first movie build up to nothing.
Amen to that. It feels like the director genuinely had no desire to make this film. And it shows.
@@MarvelScreenSleuthTodd literally said it was meant to be one movie, it really shows how much he didn’t wanna make this sequel.
Batman to the modius chair: who is the joker?
Mobius chair: there are 3

I kind of appreciate the artistry of it, but from a writing and adaptation perspective… THIS BLOWS!
Well...
that's life.

@@BobbyMurphy-m9d no love for dp?
There is love for dp. It's just that I wss expecting this movie to be a masterpiece like the first movie.
The moment the director said Joker 2 would be a musical was already the nail in the coffin.

I think we can be relieved that this pathetic clown wasn't the Joker.
Exactly 👍🏼
Still had a horrible execution

in fact this joker did not become the joker planned for that he kills him in the movie and takes his place
For the batman 2 reboot too

So basically…… there’s 3 jokers????????? What?!? Gosh, I knew the first movie was going to be better anyway

She shoots him in that sequence earlier in the film.
Thematically this is a great movie with terrible execution.
may be new joker joke s coming
Horrible film. They ruined the franchise
Is he dead or not?
Yep. He is dead

Arthur is such a looser 🙄
Kinda like a person watching fantasy movies while doing nothing with their life in reality?🫢🙄

He’s not dead is he
Unfortunately, he got killed by the real future Joker.
