Joey has had some of the most physically demanding and strenuous duels in the franchise. 16:55 Interesting how Valon, a duelist currently using the Seal of Orichalcos, is able to use a Legendary Dragon fusion card. Considering how Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight fizzled out the moment Yami activated the Seal of Orichalcos.
I realize the loophole here is probably that the Rocket Hermos Cannon is a COPY of the original RHC, rather than the genuine article created by Hermos. Nonetheless, I think it would have been a fun twist if Valon's play here ended up fizzling out just like what happened to Yami.

I think the way to do this would be similar to the Gear Cards, where you summon one, it tutors out others, and then you can use them to summon an actual boss monster. A Link-3 Chestpiece that had 3000ATK but couldn't declare attacks. It instead adds a buff to your attacking armor creatures. Each one has a unique effect, like an armor monster that is a shield, armor monster that stops quick effects from other non-armor monsters, stuff like that.

This duel really reminds me of Joey's early days, especially in the manga pre Duelist Kingdom. He was always ready to throw hands, and was very good at it; a lot of his best moments came from him taking on physical threats that Yugi/Atem couldn't handle, or using his strength and toughness to protect or avenge Yugi whenever he was wronged. It would've been really cool to see Joey take up the armor monsters as part of his main deck, since they fit his style and personality so well.

@bruhmanofyear2 It's only "not canon" only if you want to Nitpick about technicalities, and that's honestly not really all that fun. If you want the question answered, then when it comes to which source material has canon priority, then it's manga over anime. It's the same reason why certain things exclusive to the Harry Potter movies are technically not canon since they didn't happen in the books.

Not sure I'd call Take One Chance a gamble in this case, considering that we've seen the dragon cards literally replace other cards at will, so if he needed it, Hermos was going to appear, no questions asked. My bigger question is how he knew that he needed to fuse it with Big Bang Blow. Also, I keep forgetting how broken Graverobber is in Duel Monsters. I feel like it gets stronger over the course of the series. XP
As for armor monsters in the game, I would love to see them appear. In particular, they could come with built in functionality for having more than 5 on the board (maybe they can be summoned to the Extra Monster zone or Spell/Trap zone), just have to limit using them to summon Extra Deck monsters. Additionally, they could make a card of the Dark Magician Armor from Capsule Monsters/Yu-Gi-OH ALEX, along with other iconic armor sets or monsters (Utopia and the Code Talker monsters are obvious choices).

Technically Speaking, the Meklords in the anime worked a bit like Valon's armor monsters, in that they were five monsters acting as one. No physically punching the opponent though. Would have been really practical during riding duels.
Yeah, I theorized that Jet Gauntlet only works if the opposing monster has below 1000 ATK or so, but there is the usual no information on that, so... I similarly never knew Burning Knuckles debuff only works while it is attacking. So I wondered why it was not chosen as attack target for Jinzo.
Btw, on the turn he used Burning Knuckle to attack Jinzo, he could and should have used Psychic Armor Head to grab Buster Pyle.
On the topic of Armor Monster in the TCG: Well, some look like they inherently only work with the Seal of Orichalkos, like Burning Knuckle. Getting 200 ATK for every monster on the field just does not work if you can only have 5. I guess though it would be possible to recreate their effects as "If you control an Armor Monster, you can equip this card from your hand to that monster. If this monster is chosen as an attack target, you can special summon one Armor Monster equipped to this card, redirect the attack to it, and equip this card to it. If a monster is destroyed while this card is equipped to that monster, you can special summon this monster and equip all other Armor monsters equipped to that monster to this cards. You can special summon this card equipped to an armor monster to your field, and if you do, equip all other armor monsters equipped to that monster and that monster to this card."
