Just tried my first 5 rounds. What a hoot to shoot. Kinda cold out there today, but can't wait to use the 15 rnd mag. Got a feeling that this sucker's gonna cost me a fortune in shells.
The ATI Omni Hybrid is an almost exact copy of the Safir T14. The blocked out areas of the front rail are covering a sleeve style piston which moves two extensions back through the barrel nut/barrel extension to cycle the bolt. The small plate mounted in the upper near the rear pin lug is what actuates the ejector collar inside the bolt to eject the spent round.
I wish they imported these into the UK. Semi-auto rifles are prohibited and 410 seems like it would be the closest to a rifle, and you don't have to have huge mags to house only 5 rounds.
I posted a long winded comment in this video's comments, they should be uk legal with a section 1, but I'm not 100% sure as it would be easy to convert it to 5.56 with straight pull ar parts, and I bet the government wouldn't like that. I have a shotgun certificate but not a section 1, I'm getting one sorted out soon and want a mag fed semi auto (or possibly pump) tactical/military shotgun. I'm on a bit of a budget and would prefer my first 12 gauge (only have a 20) but this ati would be cool as it will be used mostly for pest control. Could do target shooting with .410 slugs though and get the sky rats with birdshot. Can't afford a saiga but was looking for recommendations. I reckon you could probably get a single one of these brought in by a reputable gun dealer. I'm more in the market for a 12 though, the new kel-tec looks promising, but I've never seen a kel-tec product in the uk and would prefer to get something I don't have to try and get by importing it from the states (which may be impossible, but most likely hard, expensive and inconvenient) I've also looked at the Chinese qbz-95 type shotgun, but I've not seen that in the uk either, it's probably easier to get than a American gun though, as I belive some companies import norinco products. Oh and if you give me any recommendations, don't recommend the mossberg 590m I think the magazines are bulky and overpriced and I think it's ugly. Or a Turkish gun, I don't want to buy from a country who's government works with Isis. Oh and my budget is around £600 Edit: thank you to anyone who gives recommendations and God bless. Also as the original commenter said, this would be very similar to an ar for uk guys who don't want a straight pull or a .22. .410 slugs are no joke and you have the option of buckshot too. I like the idea of this gun, but I've heard bad things about ati, and I'd rather get something in 12 too and from a more reputable company, an ar type shotgun would be awesome though, literally this but in 12 gauge. Still wouldn't turn my nose up at this, especially if it's cheap and available.
Mike Mehaffey Took my ATI 410 AR-15 upper out today, & ran 6 Federal #9 shot shells throw it. All 6 shells wet throw as fast as I could pull the trigger, with out a hitch. So squaring up the inside of the extractor did work. I think it may have been bad machining or casting? But filing the inside of the extractor to look like a sharp capitol (L) worked. The outside of the extractor was to thick & would be pushed by the inside of the chamber, into the brass base & rim of the shell, ripping brass off the rim & putting a small dent into the brass case wall. Thinning down the outside of the ejector & tapering the end with a small file, took that problem away. I did take the extractor out with a roll punch & worked on the inside (L). The outside that runs up against the chamber can be done with extractor in place & a fired round to gage it with, until it stops jamming on the inside chamber wall. I hope this cures my problem & helps anyone else out with theirs in the future. Good luck.
This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for. I’m assuming these are already on the market. I know what I’m asking my wife for my birthday. Now they just need a drum for it so I can burn up even more ammo.
Update: I just finely got Federal shotgun shells to chamber in my upper. I had to do some filing & stoning to the bolt. (I think it is the shell holder guide? You can see them in 109 with your finger pointing to the biggest one) The biggest one, that would be on the right side, holding onto the shell base, for ejecting was the biggest problem. The inside that hold the shell base, was WAY to tight. It looks like the part was never even fit to go around the lip of the base of a shell. It would pinch the base & put a rip or gash there. A few min with a small file & it is now fixed. Also the 45 degree angle that the shell slips over, was not smooth as it should have been. I took out the sharp & uneven angles with the stone. Next problem is it was still getting stuck in chamber, so I had to file & stone the excess metal off the outside of the same shell holder guide, as I think it was now jamming up against the inside chamber & being pushed into the shell base & jamming the shell inside the chamber. I also had to stone the opposite shell holder guide to get that side to fit. I did horn the inside of the chamber at first, thinking it might have been burrs in there making it stuck? It did help, but I will never know if it did have burrs, as I don't have a bore scope to look. I think Quality Control is MIA there in Turkey or maybe the 12 year old's just don't know gun making?
I want to say this about that. As a owner of a semi automatic magazine fed shotgun. Always and always insure that the shells are loaded with the rims forward of each other. They will jamb every time if you don't. You will find out quickly if you didn't.
I want this more then the AR 15's everyone else are getting !! Love the Idea of a 15 round clip fill with 00 ought buck or alternate with buckshot and slugs . The serious look of a AR 15 with the easy to find Ammo of 410 shotgun shells its Genius . Plus I saw a Paul Harrell video about 410 birdshot out of a good length barrell at close range is nasty with minimal chance of over penetrating walls
No it wouldn't.you'd be better off with either a regular 556 or a standard 12 gauge pump/ semi auto. That said 410 is the only shot shell that's size effecient for mag feeds systems. Most 12gs and 20gs are limited to 10ish rounds in the size of a 30rd magazine. In 410 bore you get about 20.it is a neat idea but with how anemic 410 is compared to ALL The other options available in the ar15 platform.unless you for some reason cannot use a rifle it just seems like a novelty.
@@MrAutochamber shotgun barrel length after 10" does minimal to increase accuracy. Did you try the upper on a standard lower? The magazines are way to tight on a Matrix arms lower I planned on using ( also tried the mag on a Anderson lower and 2 billet lowers, way too tight without the mag being loaded even). The magazine notch/ramp thing on the ATI mags make them way too tight of a fit.
I like it. That's a .410 slug, almost a .45, but not, coming out of an AR going 1800 fps. That's 787 ft/lbs of knock down power. Far better than a 1911 in .45 cal. Even better than the 10mm. Almost as fast as the 5.56mm, but not, and shaming the .223/5.56mm to the back of the bus in stopping power.
Well, I had a very, very bad shooting experience with this weapon, it would not feed, and after sending it back twice, and 6 months later, with lots of threats from me, I thankfully got my money back. I am sure some have had better luck.
I've watched two videos on this shotgun and not once did anybody cite mag capacity... I found out in the comments section. Maybe I missed it being mentioned...idk.
I'd be interested in purchasing an upper if there are some ammo / upper combinations that run well with the stock 5.56 buffer and spring? I already switch out uppers for different calibers without making changes to my lower and it would be great to have this convenience with the ATI .410
i asked for this type of gun at gun shows in Canada for at least 15 yrs, i`m 60 and have hunted since i was 9yrs old, this just makes sense, on 5 shot clip with game shot the other with defensive slugs for bear protection. I`m aboriginal, [Metis] and had to kill a bear with my 22 when i was about 14 nearly didnt survive. Used my browning break down 11 shot semi-auto, if it wasn`t a semi-auto i ould have died, but the bear died literally at my feet with the gun barrel touching his forehead lt few shots. Still own that 22 and its a collecter gun now
So, the upper along with OEM magazines and a buffer and buffer spring work with any AR 15 platform; regarded you swap out the buffer and spring? I assume so based on the limitation on shotshell length... Anyway, cool!
Is the barrel rifled? Can a Sabo round from it be made fairly accurate using more powder and a actual proper FMJ? Just curious how worthy this is of my love compared to the m16a2 which I became very intimate with in the corps. Semper fi
What they mean by "short piston" is Basicly the d.I. system we already know in the ar15.more accurately described as "micro or nano piston".the "piston" is on the bolt extending just into the end of the gas tube at the breach- the "gas key" .Calling the ar15 "direct inpingment" is at best a simple misnomer or more sinisterly a marketing ploy by stoner to make the ar15 seem more modern to get away from the piston machine guns of the era it was invented in.true D.I. has gasses venting right into the bolt to push it back.not how the ar's work using the gas key system. 410 is probably the only shotgun worth running in a mag fed shotgun. Size+weight vs capacity is just silly with 12 and 20.
Wanting something like this for my mother as home defence. Does anybody here have any input on recoil? It will be for a 75 yr old woman with arthritis and osteo perossis. Thank you.
Mine keeps Jammin center back for repair it's still jams what a piece of junk they can't seem to get it right what's the point in constantly sending it back
I don't know about using that AR to introduce someone into shotgunning if you want introduce someone into how to use a shotgun you are better off using a pump action shotgun because it takes a completely different skill-set to use a pump action shotgun then it does a semi-automatic shotgun
Did I correctly understand that this weapon is gas operated? I genuinely don't care for the 2&1/2 inch shells. I prefer the 3 inch shells that I carry in my Bond, and would honestly prefer something that is going to give me uniformity of ammunition. This doesn't do it.
Can the bcg and parts be put on a different upper for full custom builds or is the upper machined differently this would be a really cool set up built from a skeletonized receiver set with a Hera cqr stock set

I don't bother with spec numbers, but include links to the manufacturer's site in the articles. Article links are in the video description.
I'm looking for one.
I want one! 😍
This would make a great plinker, varmint gun, and youth hunting gun. How is the recoil with the various 410 rounds compared to an AR15 in 223?.
I'd say about the same. It's there, but negligible.
I want one of these
I'd be interested in purchasing an upper if there are some ammo / upper combinations that run well with the stock 5.56 buffer and spring?
Still own that 22 and its a collecter gun now
I don't think I've ever seen a store out of 410
come to kentucky
So, the upper along with OEM magazines and a buffer and buffer spring work with any AR 15 platform; regarded you swap out the buffer and spring? I assume so based on the limitation on shotshell length... Anyway, cool!
Yes, it's intended to run on any lower assuming you use their spring and buffer.
I understand it was three years ago, but what was the price of that upper
Will a 45 long colt be available?
Me likey:)
Have you tried shooting .44 rounds through it?
Ive heard some do it in single shot
.410
Only if the barrel is a good solid piece ive cracked my 410 barrel doing that before
Is the barrel rifled? Can a Sabo round from it be made fairly accurate using more powder and a actual proper FMJ? Just curious how worthy this is of my love compared to the m16a2 which I became very intimate with in the corps. Semper fi
Are the lowers milspec? Because these in full auto would be extremely fun.
Yes, in the tabletop I go over those details.
So sweet
My grandmother deer hunted with a bolt action 410 an she got deer
I only watched to see how you remove the bolt carrier and you skipped it. Thanks for wasting my time.
Just like an AR. It's also in your manual.
I don't know who first assigned the term direct impingement to the AR10 or AR15 but it certainly was not Eugene Stoner. Read his patents.
Will the American Tactical ATI Omni AR 410 Shotgun cycle 1200 fps Winchester AA?
I want one of these so bad, but they are out of stock everywhere I look. Any ideas of where I could find one?
Does anybody know the price? Seems like a fun gun to own!
Wanting something like this for my mother as home defence. Does anybody here have any input on recoil? It will be for a 75 yr old woman with arthritis and osteo perossis. Thank you.
Have you tried .45/70 in it.
Mine keeps Jammin center back for repair it's still jams what a piece of junk they can't seem to get it right what's the point in constantly sending it back
Is it with a specific load type? What is the malfunction?
How has it held up over the years? Any new opinions?
We've done a couple follow up videos.
GREAT VIDEO HOW MUCH IS IT OUT OF THE BX THANK YOU & RANGE
So is the ATI magazine the only magazine that can be use on the ATI 410 rifle?
Why are magazine witness holes always on the wrong side?
One of life's greatest questions
Lol! My 33 round Glock mags have them on the rear of the mag.
You try aksa crossfıre 410.
Can you load 2 1/2 triple 000 shot gun shells on the mag. I have an ATI mag that won't allow the triple 000 ammo to load. What are your suggestion?
You did not explain the different buffer and spring needed
It comes with the gun
Have they done one on full auto yet?
I wonder if it'll shoot .45 colt....
Nice
Can u use a 300 black ops lower with that too
I don't know about using that AR to introduce someone into shotgunning if you want introduce someone into how to use a shotgun you are better off using a pump action shotgun because it takes a completely different skill-set to use a pump action shotgun then it does a semi-automatic shotgun
классно
What does this go for? Would love to own one.
That is not a standard BCG, maybe that had something to do with the good performance
This is what came in mine. The gun may have changed since I made this video, it is a couple of years old.
Graham Baates I thought they treated you to an upgrade, sure looks slick compared to mine
Thank you for responding
I wonder if the magazine will hold and feed 45 long colt..hmmm lol
Did I correctly understand that this weapon is gas operated?
I genuinely don't care for the 2&1/2 inch shells. I prefer the 3 inch shells that I carry in my Bond, and would honestly prefer something that is going to give me uniformity of ammunition. This doesn't do it.
Can the bcg and parts be put on a different upper for full custom builds or is the upper machined differently this would be a really cool set up built from a skeletonized receiver set with a Hera cqr stock set
I too would like to know this. Have you found anything out?
