Got a lot request for a "patterning" video of this ammo out of the shotgun so here ya go- ruclips.net/video/egTZeDZpqkE/видео.html
I need that ammo for my taurus judge
I finally found a .410 AR 15 upper that actually works fairly well from Bear Creek Arsenal. This ammo ran 100% through it and was impressively accurate at 15 yards through an improved modified choke.
"Freedom IS the Greater Good"
Well said sir, well said.
Great work Thank You.
We appreciate the clearest ballistic gel in the industry!
*No doubt, clear as glass !!!!*
👍🏼🪟👍🏼
Clearly..........CRYSTAL.CLEARLY
I thought the same thing when I seen that gel block.
Bot
Someone could make a pair of glasses out of that stuff
What an incredibly effective self defense load for the home. No one could absorb all that damage and continue to be a threat. What a great examination of self defensive ammunition.🤔
12 gauge is the choice for bear defense and if one can easily handle it, great. However, having weapon that one can use easily and quickly is more important than eliminating the possibility of an open casket funeral.
@@nwolinsP bazooka is the choice for tank defense, and...
@@chipblanc6037 I bought a SAM on gunbroker in case those F15s come...
People have absorbed multiple rifle rounds and kept on trucking. Don't underestimate the bodies ability to take damage.
@@chipblanc6037 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Some people disparage the 410, but this load looks incredibly effective.
The Federal 000 personal defense is very effective in the S&W Governor..very manageable recoil and the the buckshot stays together like The Blue Angels out to 20 feet..
I don’t want to be on the receiving end for sure
That would ruin your day, or even forever. Definitely would mess a person up.
I’ve seen it kill many deer.
@John
I don’t think so.410 is the caliber not the gauge
That's one mean lil load. The 410 is underutilized. Definitely good home defense round.
I've never thought much about 410 but now you have convinced me otherwise!
I do not know how anyone could claim the 410 is not enough for home defence . That test shows pretty much perfection for the home.
That works out to 173 ft-lbf for each pellet. Not unlike getting hit by five rounds of .380 basically all at once. Really my point is just to post to show support and say many thanks. You never disappoint! 👍🙂
I've always loved the 410. With a full choke, they can take squirrel and grouse from pretty impressive distances. With modern tech, they can be used as turkey guns and HD guns. A single shot 410 weighs nothing and you can carry a lot more shells than the larger gauges. Only dang problem with the 410 is ammo availability.
And price! Yikes it's expensive. Honestly I don't see 20 GA as much as I used to either. 12 seems plentiful right now though. Slugs and such can be a little harder to get though.
@@joshuagibson2520 I only use 20 gauge and it has not been easy finding even target loads. Glad I got what I got when i got it, years ago!
Haha. You don't even know about .410 availability problems until you live near an Alaskan fishing town😆 it's used to finish off halibut and a few other large maritime critters here.
Versatile round, fer sure
i've used one for yrs. for squirrel hunting..that or a 28 ga. both great little guns for for both bird and small game...i try to keep to #5 shot and 3 in. mag and full choke it's never failed to do it's part as long as i done mine...and as for the 28ga....well thats another story..sweet little gun
That's cute! My 9 year old daughter uses one also.
Plating and buffering material help to lessen that pellet deformation. But, I guess those would still work for the intended purpose. Thanks, Buffalo.
Another excellent video. That load is no joke, like getting hit with a whole cylinder full of hot 38 special rounds at once.
A lot of folks downplay the .410, I refer them to videos like yours and ask, "so a .410 is not a good home defender?"
I thought this would be another demo but he really broke this down. I appreciate it.
Buffalo, you have one of the tightest channels on RUclips. Your video and audio quality are top notch, as are your knowledge of, and ability to use firearms. The fact that you are not "flashy" and don't "blow stuff up" for subs is admirable. Too bad it's not more profitable. You should have millions of subs, as you are so much better than many channels that do. Thanks for all of the excellent information and entertainment!
I really dig that you include the math. Bravo sir.
That shell is like getting hit by 5 .380 rounds all at once.
That will (probably) do.
Based on weight...maybe more like five 32s with a little expansion... still impressive
@@koreya1161 yes, based on weight, they are closer to .32 ACP, about 70grains...but, as far as diameter and energy? Nearly the same as 380ACP. .355" and about 180 energy...and, momentum would also be more than 5 X .32 auto, as the velocity is almost 1100 fps...same weight, but, MUCH faster velocity...in all considerations that matter, these shells are very similar to 5 X .380 ACP, standard pressure FMJ.
@@koreya1161 no
@@sebastionhawk5565 Yes!
Always enjoy seeing 410 performing respectably
Looks pretty effective for a .410!
What a beautiful cartridge. I love .410
Impressive how it spread apart so quickly upon impact. That's a horrible wound. People think .410 is weak, but a shot like that to the chest is gonna drop you just like a 12 gauge.
Holy buckets! Don’t want to get hit with that! This is why the military loves buckshot.
Roll that glorious drive-thru footage.😉
The five yard group shows how even shotguns need to be aimed for 'inside the house' distances. Not much room for error, even with a scattergun. They would certainly put the hurt on an invader.
I bought a1 18 inch barrel Mossberg 510 in 410 bore for my wife. We shot some of this at 20 yards into a 10 inch pumpkin. It made pumpkin pie on the first round. By four rounds there was no longer a target.
Pretty darned effective home defense load, in my estimation, especially for a youngster or small framed lady!!
It would be interesting to paint the pellets different colors, reload them in the shell and be able to know where they were in the stack when fired. Could produce interesting results.
Exactly what I was thinking. Also, I wonder if the flattening comes from the balls hitting each other and they flattened in the shell and barrel...
Usually. Thats why bronze encased pellets are a thing
That truly is the clearest gel block I have seen. I like that round. Thanks for sharing .
867 ftlbs of energy is pretty stout for a .410
I like it
GOD BLESS YOU ALL
This channel should def be more people...ol buffalo gives nothing but the straight goods nothing to hide, humble, good man
Winchester also loads a 3" .410 load, one with 4 balls of 000 Buck @1135 FPS and the other with 3 balls of 000 Buck @ 1300 FPS
I load some.360, 71gr, 000 buck for 410 & 12 from a little Lee two cavity mould I have. Them little things are brutal. Love em. It takes a while casting all those pellets from a two cavity mould but they're well worth it. The 12ga loads take some finessing to fit & some wadd modification is needed on my part for both loads, it's nothing too difficult to figure out though. Love some 000 buck. Great video, thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for the video, now I know there is .410 ammo that I can use in my Stoeger .410 dbl Coach Gun that my wife could handle for in home self defense. Your videos are always educational, informative, and entertaining.
WOW what a HD gun! Lol...I put down my bolt rifles due to my 70's marlin 30/30 lever being too much fun not to use ("too perfect" in every other way, too) May have to look up your wife's HD for all the same reasons!
Older couple here, and both of us have the Mossberg 500 preditor short and bought a bunch of shells before things went wacko (2018) .. Brenneke, Ultimate, Triple , Sebot, and we can handle the 410 quite nice..
Great content, I sleep with an eighteen inch barreled .410 next to my bed as the FIRST LINE of home defense. Other are nearby if 5 shots fail. I feel better after seeing this video. Thank you!
Amen Freedom Is The Greater Good
Looks like a viable defense option to me!
Dang. I’m thinking this round would be a fight stopper. 😮
That will definitely take the fight out of any bad guy. Ouch! 😮
Thanks Buffalo! I don't think I have seen any test or discussion of .410 in a full size barrel since the Judge first came out.
Wow. Growing up using 20ga and 12ga I never really thought about how devastating a .410 with buckshot could be. Very effective home defense.
It's like one of those little click-clack doodads that people keep on their desks; each one of the pellets gave some of their energy to the one in front of it, and that's how the first pellet in line got boosted to penetrate so much deeper than the others
Thank you for the time and effort.
I have been reloading my own 2 1/2” shells with 4 bales of 000 buck, they’re pretty spicy, and decent for defense. I always love and appreciate your videos Buffalo!
The ammo did good in the gel. When I was a kid I knew a family that the dad made his son’s 410 buck shot rounds for deer hunting. He took 12 gauge buck shot and put it in 410 bird shot. Thanks for the video.
that is DEVESTATING!! god i love shotguns! beautiful destruction
Looks as if that would be a great home defense solution.
Great info! Shows a .410 is a very good home defense option.
Security guards in Venezuela carried single shot .410 pistols. Kinda like mule legs. The 1 in the chamber was rock salt. Then, their cartridge holder on the stock had 1st with bird shot, 2nd, #4 shot, 3rd was this 5 shot buckshot and 4th was a slug.
Compared to your .410 slug video, this buck actually penetrated deeper than the breneke slug with 1 ball. The rest did virtually as good as the slug!
5 holes vs 1. This would be good for pigs!
Thats propper impressive
Gotta love the clear ballistic gel. Thanks for the breakdown. Always interesting and so concise.
To me, clear gel is the gold standard. If the gel is green or worst, shaped like a gummy bear, I just pass on the video and disregard what they say.😤
Buffalo , you have one of the best channels on RUclips . Very informative and complete and always tempered with common sense . I always share your videos with friends ! You are appreciated . Wishing you and yours a fantastic Thanksgiving !
Buffalo. Good and interesting video. I would not want to be on the wrong end of those. Thanks for sharing. Take care.
Awesome!! I love the .410
Wow the 410 surprised me. Gonna show a buddy at work. He loves his 410. Be great on his small ranch.
Two of my grandsons have a .410. I think I will suggest this shotshell to them. Thank you for testing these.
Gotta love clear gel blocks. Thanks for making this for us. It's much appreciated.
Be safe out there, and take it easy man.
000 buckshot is a great option for home defense. 👍 👌
Wow! That is pretty impressive! I would not want to be on the receiving end of that!...
Mossberg Pump 410 just became number one in Home Defense
Great thank you for your time. Nice test.
Sweet stuff! This looks viable in in a 410 shockwave for home defense. 👍
Thanks again Buffalo, seasons greetings
I like the spreading of the shot in the target. I'll bet the flattened lead balls caused that. Thank the new .410 revolvers for this type of ammo. Now that old beater .410 is a good defensive piece!
Fantastic results. Thanks for showing the construction and pellet deformation. I bet the manufacturer could improve performance by watching your video. Maybe a shaped plastic spacer between each pellet. Pruno
Fantastic video! Thank you Buffalo. Truth is that while I enjoy the tiny revolver series a lot, they tend to be a bit shorter and as such I have been having some serious Buffalo Outdoors withdrawals! Seriously though, you and the Taofledermaus crew are my 2 favorites because you guys are honest, straightforward folks with videos that aren't filled with a lot of "fast moving, silly, or supposedly high production value" fluff and garbage. Like a peanut butter cup with the chocolate thrown in the garbage, you have just the good stuff!!
I would be quite pleased with that result from a .410 Gauge Buckshot cartridge.
Thanks Buffalo! A great informative video.
Great video. Short, simple, sweet, and informative.
.410 is a wonderful caliber, grew up learning to hunt with a single-shot.
One of my funnest little guns is a .410 semi-auto bullpup. It's proven deadnuts reliable and more than that, it satisfies the smoke and noise craving as well. It runs fast and incredibly simple to keep on target no matter how fast you run it.
Great video Buffalo, your gel is awesome.
Love the 410. Thanks for the Video!!
Interesting. I guess if a person was very recoil concious and owns a 410 this would make a good defense load
Thank you for a another great video. We always enjoyed shooting the 410, now we can use it for home defense with confidence. The price of the 410 shells forced us to buy a reloader, it's worth it.
Definitely a great option for home defense. It’s going to be a bad day for any bad guy or guys.
Fascinating Buffalo. Dang inertia gets you every time. We should call it PUCK shot lol.
Great video, sir! Impressive analysis with chrono and you even gave us the SD! I appreciate your “naked” gel block test and your description of how the pellets deformed inside the barrel of the gun. I’ve never heard anyone else make that point! Smart! Thank you for teaching me something!
Always enjoy a Buffalo video, and the freedom reminder at the end too
Thanks Buffalo!!
That will get them out of your Livingroom. I don't know if I would pick the 4:10 over a 12 or 20 ga but it sure works. Nice job on the testing, love that clear gel.
Great video and dang pretty impressive. 410 ain't messing around.
Wow, the penetration really surprised me. I wasn't expecting any pellets to fully penetrate the one gel block.
Thanks for the review, Buff! Hey, jus a FYI. This guy used a foam pad under the gel blocks to prevent the blocks from bouncing off the table. It acts as a shock absorber. Works great. His channel is called Target Suite. Super cool guy, like you Buff.
Impressive video for REMINGTON Ultimate Defense 410 OOO Buck , Thank You !
It hurts me when I see u don't have more subscribers, which you deserve to have! You have a great great great channel man. Love your shotgun related videos and the accurate demonstrations with your equipments. Hope to see you getting the attention you deserve; at least 1M subs! Good luck in your YT career sir.
It is sad to see the only channels that really seem to get "promoted" are the ones with people acting foolish and comical with guns.
@@Scablands_Scavenger I'm sure Buffalo gets the attention he deserves; sooner or later.
I remember when he had just 800 subs.
@@Scablands_Scavenger try Chris n wife @ Honestoutlaw and John n his son @ Hickok45.....it's about the guns and both happen to reward with excellant marksmanship as well.
Bad guy bad day for sure 👍😃✌️🇺🇸
OUTSTANDING !
I'm surprised! Guess I need to pull my old .410 out of the safe!!! Thank you!!
That is some super clear gel, the comments aren't kidding.
You did a great job on your video.
I never realized they were flattening out on take off, I always assumed it was because of the final impact that flatten them.
Well, that was impressive! Never thought about a 410 with buck shot. Judging by the penetration of the jell this looks like the bad guy is done for.
Great video. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Being on the receiving end...no thank you!!!
Your out!
Thanks for another great video Buffalo, the .410 shotgun has definitely come a long way!!👍🏼
Great video as always Buffalo! Clear gel!!! 410 is very effective! Happy Thanksgiving!
Informative and entertaining as always!!! Thanks Buffalo!!
Excellent video, I will grab a few boxes when I am next near my local gun shop, Cheers
Almost makes me want to go out and get a .410, just for the sake of haveing one.
Good idea Charles, I have shot the .410 bore for 55 years and it is still a favorite of mine. If you keep your shot range to "under" 18 yds it is an effective small game tool. Loaded 410 ammo is expensive but if you reload it is much less expensive since you use a lot less lead and powder than in a 12 ga. Often I find that I don't want to use a 12ga at short ranges and disintegrate a target, a few holes is plenty. Don't expect to use a .410 on treetop squirrels with an ethical result. A 3" chambered .410 bore loaded with 11/16 oz of #6 at "under" 18 yds is a game getter and recoil doesn't rattle your brain.
Well done and well said with the ultimate perspective "Freedom is the Greater Good" - worth never forgetting. . . :>/
All I can say is wow
thanks Buffalo, very interesting and informative video.
Looks like a sweet shooter!
I've been studying wound ballistics for over 20 years, and I can tell you that the only time it matters to have the layer of jeans over the gel block is when you're using a hollow point. Without some sort of clothing (depending on what's common in your climate), you can get false results from hollow points as the hollow point sometimes will clog up, not expand and act like an FMJ. HST, XTP, and Gold Dots usually are not phased by clothing.
Great video! 👍You, sir, are a scientist.
Very well done!
@1:39 "with a standard deviation of nine"
Thank you for providing that, your Mathematics/Statistics instructor would be proud.
A lot of people provide averages, but forget the importance of dispersion.
